- Mark Lee Dickson is a pastor from East Texas who has quietly become one of the most influential anti-abortion voices in the United States. His push for cities to ban abortion through local ordinances paved the way for the Texas Heartbeat Act, a key challenge to Roe v. Wade.

These things will probably never be removed in America.
There are many charities for those as well, and as bad as they are, they still pale in comparison to the intentional killing of innocent human beings.
That's the irony. Go to most churches and tell them that you want to get together like these people but for the sake of fighting poverty and providing life-saving healthcare, the very things that Jesus did, and you won't get even a fraction of this interest or energy. Christianity is a total farce.

Just like in the case of drug laws and gun laws, making something illegal doesn’t mean it goes away. If you don’t want abortions happening, you have to take preventative measures; comprehensive sex Ed, availability of healthcare and contraceptives, etc..
Absolutely. Also support for new parents such as extended paid parental leave, free or subsidized childcare, etc. Also, the fostercare and adoption system needs to be drastically improved for those who don’t want to abort but want to put the child up for adoption. Part of that change needs to be allowing LGBTQIA+ people to adopt children the same way straight cis people do.
Outlawing abortion will not stop abortions from happening, it will just cause them to be unsafe.

@@vinnieg6161 you must be very religious in that case lets ridicule it

@@insight2 I am not religious and if you think 1 question is already ridicule you must be a real joy to be around.
It confuses me how these people think babies only matter when they're in a woman's body but not once they're born. True pro life would be the support once the baby is born. Our foster care system and number of children waiting to be adopted is beyond flooded, financial benefits to help single parents is continuously being cut and is nowhere near enough as is let alone how difficult it is to even get the services. These are usually the same people looking down on single moms and looking down on people in need of financial assistance. As if my mom didn't have it hard enough raising my sister and I alone, she faced a lot of discrimination and judgment on top of the a million hoops to jump through just to get the necessary help and services needed.
Huge straw man, the pro life position is that the right to life also applies to a fetus not about weather foster care is flooded ect… If you care so much then adopt! I plan to adopt if my future wife agrees. This also assumes that everyone that is pro-life people dont care about children after theyre born. This can be true. I am sure if abortion was made illegal we would all collectively try to make it easier for young people/single mothers to raise a child. One issue at a time, you cant solve everything at once, to expect this is just not fair.
@@sleppynoggin8808 soooo we can’t fix everything, only one step at a time right? Why not help ALL of the current children waiting in foster care to find proper homes FIRST before adding more unwanted children to over run homes and agencies. But your method is, save the unborn children first, even though we have no resources for them right now and most will be on welfare and living below the poverty line? Is that what I’m hearing? If we can only do one thing at a time let’s help the current kids in foster care then, once we have a handle on that, we can tackle anti abortion laws. But the reality is religious people have their panties in a bunch to save unborn cells with nowhere for these children to go. Save them, then leave the mothers (because most of the men abandon these women) to figure out how to clothe and feed these children with very little resources. You guys are really doing God’s work 👌🏾 It’s so easy for everyone to point their fingers at these women who want abortions but most of y’all aren’t the ones living in projects and trailer parks with drug infested communities and violence. A lot of those unborn babies aren’t going home to white picket fences. But I guess no one cares about that…
@@prtdiva so if homeless people were being murdered what would we do first, try to solve the murder or try to solve homelessness, both ovbiously. The pressing issue would be murder as you cant help a dead person
@@sleppynoggin8808 Abortion isn’t murder
@@sleppynoggin8808 The problem with that analog, ignoring the fact that our differing views on the life of a fetus, is that conservatives would be effectively pushing policies that increase housing instability and causes more homelessness.
It's not just that conservatives aren't doing enough to combat childhood poverty, they're contributing to it
I wish my fellow Christians have this sort of passion for pushing for paid maternity leave, universal childcare, and a living wage for all.
I would have a lot more respect for the “right to life” movement if they focused their efforts on comprehensive sex ed and getting kids in foster care adopted- or at least providing aid for poor mothers. When they focus solely on inching back abortion rights, it feels a lot less like caring about kids and a lot more like controlling women’s bodies and behavior.
That's all it's actually really about at its core. When you can control all the people who bear children, that puts the dominant group at a great advantage. There's no reason for abortion to be illegal at all, if you don't approve of them you simply would never have to get one.
Exactly focus on fixing the problems that cause this. BUT THATS NEVER BEEN THE GOAL OF "THE JESUS" followers its always been about control. Agreed, however some can't afford to take the required 3 days off of work plus that very expensive bus ticket on top of the outrageous cost of getting the pill or procedure to begin with. If you work 6 days a week, have 2 jobs, or kids that need looking after, this isn't a valid option. Something the anti abortionists know and count on.
From a perspective of a European, I don’t understand the United States. People are really concerned about Abortion yet nobody seems to care about things like School shootings, drug epidemic or Inflation. The priority’s just seem so wrong to me and I am wondering if this is the general consensus or just some stupid village people?
Exactly, why strive so hard for the unborn and not the life already existing? Like yes lets not educate anyone on safe sex, let’s not give any help to young women, let’s not protect girls being raped an impregnated. Let’s just force this child into an unsafe world where they can be killed in about 7 years in a school shooting because “pro lifers” are pro guns. That’s not very pro “life” if you ask me. If you care so much about life then care about the ones we have already, the ones around us. Not the ones not even existing yet
It's a general consensus unfortunately and not just in some villages.
Their lawmakers 100% hate woman and there is almost no separation between church and state
People do care about school shooting and drug epidemic. The solutions from both left and right are different which causes friction. And also because they might not see them on the news just because there is not a news station talking about said issues doesnt mean there are not civic groups from both side still debating and arguing and trying to set and implent policies and agendas.
Because they (the right) don’t actually care about children. They want something to be outraged about. The left does care.
A lot of it comes down to folks not understanding the separation of church and state.
Why are people allowed to use their interpreted morality with religion to make laws yet science gets stonewalled at every step ?
Because religion is a force for power and control over others. Science is not.
@@jabbermocky4520 I agree with this statement. I honestly don’t think the human species will advance any further if we continue with religion. We can be spiritual beings that recognize divine occurrences, but religion is so toxic.
@@jabbermocky4520 🤡🤡
Because that's part of how religion survives. In fact, that's literally why religions persuade you to have as many as kids as possible. If you think of it from a survival perspective, the best way to keep your organization (religion) alive is to manage it like a cult (which it is). Once you've convinced people that they're doing something that a Divine Creator(s) wants, there really is no way to convince them to do otherwise - legal or not.
Science, non-religious organizations, etc. tend to be nowhere near as cult-ish, because the whole point is to not be a cult. Unfortunately, that means its members also tend not to be zealots, thus they struggle to fight back against a growing opposition cult.
It's also why cults of personality tend to garner so much support to. Humanity in general tends to enjoy placing someone (or something) on a pedestal to follow. It's hardly surprising we are where we at now in the US knowing this.
@Apeman Commeth Not always. Ever hear of miscarriage and stillbirth? Yeah, they happen. Miscarriage is quite common in fact. Sometimes a woman doesn't even know that a sperm got lucky. The uterine material is simply expelled.
How about this, if you think abortions are immoral, don't get one.
Right I thought America was about choice
@@PershingOfficial America *Is* about choice.
So long as you choose the Republican choice
If you don't believe men should kill women who kill their children during pregnancy, don't get a man! See how ridiculous your justifaction of the murder of babies actually is??
If you think killing babies is in your best interest, do it. If you don’t want a baby, use protection
@@DivorcedHedgehog so sometimes protection fails. No protection is 100%. Even the things with the highest protection rate (vasectomy, tubal ligation) occasionally fail. Most doctors will not give women tubal ligations unless they’ve already had children. A lot of insurance may not cover other things with very high protection rates such as IUD’s. Some people may not be able to take hormonal birth control because of certain medical conditions.
Yes, giving universal access to free birth control would greatly reduce the abortion rates. However, even when using protection, sometimes pregnancy can still happen.
If you don’t want an abortion, don’t get one. But that decision should be a choice. No one should be forced to carry a pregnancy they do not want. No child should be forced to be born to parents that do not want them.
It just fascinates me how hard (some) 'people' go to try to influence and control the next person's life, and how little they invest in themselves to get their own lives in order.
Now you understand the essence of politics. Power will always be wielded, the question is by whom and for what.
@Tyler B #2 a murder spree which Ironically can be solved with gun control , is not the same as women’s rights to choose whether to have a child or not
@Tyler B #2 this is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. You do not get to tell two people what to do, thats their private life. If they want to raise a child, good, if they do not want to? still good and also, protections are not always 100% fyi
Its a battle of morals on one side prolife they see people that get abortions as lustful idiotic with no self control and on the other side they think ... why are you telling me what to do this isn't your body im gonna do what I want to do...
@Tyler B #2 A man kidnapping someone is very much different that two people having sex mutually. What part of your brain does not understand this? Kidnap is not a mutual thing and the other person is forced. Now don't compare the same to aborting too
They should really stop trying to make life difficult for others, if u don’t want to abort, simply don’t. But don’t force your ideas on others, mind your own business
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I'm pro choice. But I think that telling them to mind their own business would not work. Imagine if you saw someone abusing their child and they told you to mind your own business. I'm not saying that abortion is like abusing a child. But that's how they see it. You have to see it from their perspective in order to help them understand why we need abortion.
Do you support vaccine mandates?

My great aunt got pregnant from small town ministers son. She was 15, it was a scandal. She had a black market abortion and it ruined her. When she got married in her early 20s she wanted to have a baby, but couldn't. We need to let women decide when it's right for them to have a family. Making safe abortion illegal will send women to back alleys to get abortion, leading to possible sterility.

Most unwanted pregnancy is caused by promiscuity and general carelessness. They know about protection they just don’t bother

Instead of worrying about the unborn, take care of those children alive now that need help.
The problem is, people are idiots. Some just won't use protection.
There is a pretty simple way of avoiding unwanted pregnancies....don't have sex.

@@iamdebaby8152 My point is if you live in a society, then you have morals forced on you - whether you're in China, or US, or Mexico... And all morals are metaphysical - or "religious" in the sense that they are not proven by scientific inquiry. A 30 year old man cannot have a romantic relationship with an 8 year old girl. A person shouldn't be able to just walk into a store and steal stuff with no consequence. A stronger person cannot force their way on another person sexually. A mother may not end the life of an infant because it is an inconvenience to her, or because it causes her emotional stress. These are all views with their corresponding laws "forced" on us all. Mark Dickson (and actually the majority of American public) believe that a fetus is a human being and a person... and as such Mark believes that it is immoral to end the life of this person simply because of their location (in a mother's womb) or developmental stage (fetus), and that the right of life of this person supersedes the right of the mother to her own body - and so he wants to see this legislated to be unlawful. Universal healthcare is based upon taking care of people's health the right way the whole time they're alive so they never have to have a bunch of expensive medical issues taken care of, where is insurance-based healthcare there's no incentive to treat people when it's something minor and unconsciously, so they wait until it becomes something major and very costly and then they charge you an arm and a leg. Many years ago, in Mexico, abortion was prohibited at all levels. For many years, medics had to deal with knowing that some mother's lifes were going to be at danger since their unborn children were unviable, severly malformed or otherwise dangerous for the mother. Many times, as there was simply no other option, the pregnancy continued and in many cases the worse prognosis came to happen. The woman would die, having a child medics knew months in advance had absolutely no chance of living.
Since this happened more often than one would like to think, especially in rural areas exposed to aggressive chemicals used for the crops (insecticides, pesticides, etc); more and more people started seeking out clandestine abortiom clinics to terminate their pregnancies, often resulting in death or infertility due to the poor conditions. In another huge sector of the population, women did not want to have their children either because of their age, because of who the father was, or because it was the result of non-concensual intercourse. This put a lot more pressure on the whole situation.
After a while, few highly populous states begun stablishing programs that allowed and regulated abortions for medical reasons (the first scenario I described) and highly reduced mortality in women, also preventing further risks in the case of the absolutely unviable fetuses, terminating pregnancies before any potential damage could take place. Later, Mexico City extended the allowances for abortions, reducing further mortality and increasing women's quality of life. Many women from other states began seeking abortions in the capital, since they were going to do it either way, except they preferred sanitary conditions over illegal shafts.
We should be thinking about quality of life, rather than just because of the sake of it. People who do not want children are most likely going to neglect or even abuse their children, creating further social problems and suffering in society. Should this choice be permitted, in time frameworks that are safe for women, many more problems would be solved. And if you believe in God, then there is still room for a person destined to be born, to do so. You just prevent sending many others earlier to the heavens, than we could otherwise prevent. If you don't want to abort, then don't. But allow for others to excert the will over their future.

You’re either aborted or you’re not.
Your opinion is not higher than anybody else. Clearly someone wasn't raised right. Abortion is murder and you are lucky God allowed you to live. Reflect on yourself. If you support abortion, maybe watch the process of abortion and maybe you will change your mind
Your opinion is greatly respected
Smh.
This is just promoting pain and suffering
Dude seems really qualified for this mission he’s set out on lmao
It's the reversed cap, isn't it?
If you wear a hat like that, you are not allowed to have political opinions
Makes sense he's a neckbeard
Love that woman’s Freudian slip when she’s canvassing. Saying life begins at birth, before correcting herself. People will tell you who they really are.
13:25 for those who missed it or want a laugh replaying.
I'm a man so I will never have that choice to make but I feel like the women who is pregnant at the time and wants a abortion should be able to do so with out problems. It's thier body thier life and thier choice.
So a guy who isn't gonna ever need an abortion has an opinion on it?
Seems legit
There are laws against a lot of things and people gets sent to jail everyday.
Isn't a deterrent and doesn't solve the problem.
People decide on abortion because of a lot of different reasons. It isn't a simple matter and some things in the society have to change so to lower the number of abortions, making them illegal or more difficult to have them won't stop people getting them.
Murder laws dont stop murder, but that doesnt mean it should be legal. Killing babies should be illegal.
@@hamie7624 You missed the point.
It still happening even when illegal is not an argument. Mur der is illegal and it still happens, should we using your (lack of) argument make it legal because of that?
The obvious answer is no. If it's illegal and it still happens so be it. Those people will rightly be so deemed criminals when caught then.
@@paolagrando5079 no I think you missed the point you don’t get to kill baby’s I don’t care if your so crazy your willing to make a 50 pill poison concussion or belly flop you should be punished ACTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES DEAL WITH THEM
@@johnpapst7941 You aren't solving the situation, you are not diminishing the number of abortions making it illegal. Illegal abortion only gets with more deaths.
This people are nuts !!!
So does he support capital punishment?
Affordable quality childcare for working mothers?
Expanded healthcare to the lowest paid?
Restrictions on availability of food stamps for poor mothers with kids?
Quality, equitable funding for public schools?
No.....just when some uppity woman chooses to assert agency over her body and make life choices.
I know they better keep it moving. These ppl be having us late for work protesting downtown in DC 🙄 Women can do what they want with our bodies.
