This is a fun concept.
Yeah, I went through a couple of iterations on it and ended on this one. I think it becomes a bard subclass you multiclass into instead of taking from level 1 onward, but it could be neat to be the bard that's just out there trying their best.
What would your take be on a partnered class/subclass? I really enjoy playing a class that works alongside another player, but is there a way to create something that is dependent on another player.
I don't think there is any good way to make something dependent on another, removing your autonomy can be an issue if you run into possessions from ghosts, dominate person, etc.
If I were playing this class, the classes I'd most like in my party would be: any paladin, a soul knife rogue, or a champion fighter. Getting to 6th level opens up lots of potential for crit fishing, and protecting the frontliners. From an RP perspective, a Wild Magic Sorcerer would be a fun dynamic.
