ngl, I would love a "HappyChime tournament" where happy contacts some of the players he's showcased on his channel again, and see if he can set up and make teams with everyone playing their off-meta champions to have a fun game of off-meta/wacky vs off-meta/wacky, its not likely the happen but I think it would be fun to see what some of the most creative mind of league do when they go head to head.
As a Pyke main, I really like seeing him being played in other lanes :D

@@Yiuliasit is better vs certain champs than others. Against Caitlyn for instance you're just setting yourself up for a 1.5k headshot. Vs zed his entire ult can get ruined
@@TheModdedwarfare3another thing is how the champion functions, its far better on somebody who can quickly get their combo back and has mobility like Fizz or Sylas but somebody like Lux prays that the enemy assassin can't do more or enemy team doesn't follow up on it

I'm a Viego main and legitimately people sleep on picking up a Zhonyas on him. He has scaling on everything except ult, and the active is great for his diving playstyle
as a Pyke main, I tried this build and *damn* does it feel good. you lose a lot of speed by you have a lot of survivability with armour and zhonyas

As a pyke mid otp, i've played every build except this one. Ive played:crit, life steal, heartsteel into warmog, jak sho, bruiser. Never thought about ap tho

I've been maining pyke since release and had played him mid and jungle but static never thought of it i want to try it and see if i can jungle or just mid this will be fun it's something new.
update I did it and it wasn't hard it's the new update it's really fun it's weird because i wasn't used to the attact speed but i have played crit pyke before. i had alot of solo kils but because our support was a brand and a jungle neeko it's basically KSteal central.
i play ad pyke mid normally but end the build with a zhonya, i mained this strategy since like season 11 and it's so good u should try it
I’ve been playing full ad classic pyke mid for the longest time now going through all the nerfs but always enjoying it. When statikk returned i’ve played it on pyke mid , comboing it with 1 minion d. on a caster so u shotted hem, but the zhonya solution seems fun for surviving even more risky situations. Sometimes in the past few months I’ve even tried the comet rune page even though it really hurts your dps and I already win laning phase anyway so I mostly run hob, but now with this utility based build with already much lower dps I think it could be the perfect solution for winning laning phase. Lastly teleport 4L.

AP scaling on minions was nerfed due to the LB situation. It deals damage that scales with lvl to minions.

Before you even try this. Try to see if you can hit 90% (or more) of your abilities as a support xD! I tried Pyke when he was new, but I never seemed to be good mechanically enough to even play him as a support. Haven't played him since, except for maybe some arams.

Yep just make sure you take minion dematerialiser and maybe use it on ranged once

Pyke main here. It's really cool seeing Pyke mid/top success cases and people were talking about this ap build on reddit some while ago, it's nice seeing it here.
But I can't agree with the A Rating, Pyke mid itself is hard enough to play and pretty much unforgiven, AP just increases his difficulty because you can't even rely on slow farming, it's just snowball games (more than before) so you have to be very good with the champion to try it.
Pyke mid is something a lot easier talking than making it happen, credits to this guy and other pyke mid players, but I can't recommend it to someone because even pyke support is kinda trash right now. I definetely wouldn't classify it more than C rank because even Pyke+Taliyah looks better.
Fair point. I think in high elo it has a great rating but should have done a low elo one too, as pyke mid in silver will be 1/10 or 2/10.

Huge amount of people giving up even when game isnt over, open mid culture - people would rather open mid than wait to 15 min to ff if they are behind e.g 10k gold, never try to come back.
+ also their mechanics are so good and they like fighting> macro - so gold leads stack up very quickly, and thus they dont ever practice comebacks.
Also PC bang culture - playing in public pc cafe so they pay per hour = they ff earlier to get more games in

9:46 it's not. Samira is almost double as likely to get a penta as opposed to any champion according to averages gathered in plat+ she has an Average of 0.0238 Penta/match Pyke has an average of 0.0011 pentas/match. Nilah is in second with 0.0122. Corki is more likely to get a penta than pyke.
This is based on averages, but the difference is so immense.

I don't think he plays that build anymore. Cause of shiv nerfs there is no longer a reason to build ap on Pyke. It's better to go classic duskblade lethality instead
He is just taking a break from LoL like everyone since the season reset was coming up, no point playing til today.
If you hit Grandmaster and then stopped playing - you are probably just done for the season, not much point coming back unless you want to try and get challenger which is a LONG way away now.

From 125% AP scaling on minions to 0%
And even the Shivs proc dmg against champions was lowered from +30% to 15%
+ in 13.18 the normal damage from the shock was lowered from 250-350 to only 200
The ap scaling was the only thing what made buying ap on pyke kinda worth but without it I can't imagine it being good anymore

Someone first-timed this strat against me in ranked. I didn't yet see the video and thought this guy was on LSD, but nevertheless he gave me a free win.
I think this only works because the games in KR GM are short and mainly decided in the laning phase. I hope I won't see any low elo NPC trying to copy this

Interesting build, but wouldn't buying GA be better instead of Zhonya? While it does disable the opportunity for the smooth transition of Stopwatch into Zhonya, it just has more inherent synergy with Pyke and his ability scalings while still providing the safety net.
Zhonya's has a 120 second cd, vs GA's 300 second cd, as well as Zhonya's coming with 15 ability haste. Pyke's damage scaling isn't the greatest, so compared to the utility, the 45ad on GA isn't really worth it. The playstyle is all about hooking high priority targets to set up your team, so you'd want to prioritize more hooks, and more frequent safety for the constant roams and plays you'll do. Plus, the AP helps shiv damage so that you can waveclear and roam more.
Except AP no longer buffs Shiv's minion damage, thus you would only increase the already nerfed AP ratio on Shiv.

shiv coming back was not a mistake, I have been having so much fun relearning my old favorite pick from s10: Bard adc hybrid finally! I was so sad when they removed it in S11 and the build was dead but now it is better than ever just going Shiv, RFC, then Ludens. Even with the nerfs to waveclear I can push waves and just go roam with my supp and jungle and the burst dmg surprises everyone when I just 100-0 squishies (and it gets worse for tanks when I get void staff next item). Riot finally is taking w's with game changes, and the only people who seem to be mad are the ones who actually hate seeing change, which in the LOL community is more common than I thought...

Similarly - ravenous hydra pyke just doesnt do much for him as he doesnt need healing at all due to his passive regen + the cost of the item is a big barrier too considering he doesnt use the item very well unfortunatly.
It isnt terrible, i agree it could make sense - but you can see why it may not be optimal for a challenger/GM level player when the margin between win and loss is a few hundred gold.
