Thanks for the response on this one all! Real happy with how it turned out and love to see that yall are into it! Definitely need to do more Song of Ice and Fire stuff on the channel
I must say, if you like the classical Medieval knight aesthetic, House of the Dragon might be more up your alley. There are several scenes in the first two episodes that spolight knights in heraldry with irl inspired armour and helmets. Something I enjoyed, seeing as I found the house "uniforms" from the original show to be quite plasticy and goofy looking.
Yah, looking through some footage from this I did see some really cool classical looking stuff (particularly some of the knights at the tourney), but there's other stuff that looks even more styalised to me (the new kings guard for example). Feel like it's a mix, but it does still look really cool so I will absolutely check it out (eventually :P )
I've found I enjoy the new series more than the GoT. The armour is much more in keeping with the books (I mean what was with the Lannister armsmen in a GoT?).
Thanks man! It's amazing how much slight tweaks can make eh :P forgot to mention it in the video but turned the horse tails about 45° to opposite sides and even just that gives them so much more motion and direction
You read my mind! I've been looking at the Perry Agincourt mounted knights set for making some figures, I was thinking for gaming but maybe a diorama might be better. In fact I've just ordered a couple of Claymore Castings' figures, both on foot. One is good for Rhaegar with the addition of wings and the other as Robert with the addition of a warhammer. The Robert figure doesn't have a helmet but there's a squire figure holding a greathelm that I was thinking of putting on the shore looking on at the fight. Or maybe I'll kitbash a helm with antlers fallen in the water, as Robert was injured in the fight. So yes, I'm blatantly stealing your idea... 😆
@@AndurzTalksHobbies u certainly have the skills for it airfix tamyia, revell all good scale model brands I personally built tanks cars aircraft truck and such you've definitely inspired me to try painting miniatures
Great work! I love all the kitbashing and detailed paint work! But one thing you could have done was added mud and blood stains onto their tabards. They have been fighting in a battle after all! Oh and Rhaegar should have rubies in his breast plate btw!
Very nice work. Always love to see some more book-faithful interpretations of Westerosi knights. I have an army for Warhammer Fantasy using those same old Bretonnia models, along with some Empire and Perry bits to create a similar army for ASOIAF, but set during the time when Stannis assaults King's Landing. One thing I thought of while watching, but have you considered adding to the water effects? Maybe use PVA glue to build up some more height for splashes and ripples? Either way, looks great and I just subscribed to your channel. Hope to see more awesome content like this in the future from you.
Absolutely, they would be a great option. I only have the foot knights from them as otherwise I would definitely have used those. Could probably use the CMON or darksword miniature stuff too as they have actually song of ice and fire miniatures :P
Yah I've had issues with mold in the paste, particularly when mixing the raw sand into a paste. I did get lazy as I was in a rush this time and skipped it.... hoping 3 layers of resin will be enough to hold anything nasty in but I guess we'll see! Will definitely post updates if anything wild happens
Yah some of the top layer had actually gone a bit cloudy since I did it, but so far it's only around their feel so it doesn't look too bad .. yet! And yah, kitbashing stuff together is 100% my favorite part too
@@jmaccsarmiesofArda makes sense, if it's thin enough you could even just paint over it and do a new layer on top, but I guess that depends on the board

Absolutely incredible work! Really pleased to have have this content in my life now!
Thanks man! And yah I love doing joth dioramas and Game of thrones/song of ice and fire stuff, definitely need to do more of both of those
Freaking amazing diorama! Love the terrain and the movement you made with those old rigid sculpts

Do it!
Would love to see the results!
Even added the horses which iirc the author said that in most depictions of The Battle at The Trident most artist forget the horses.
Yah, all comes back to that artwork that I was trying to émulation, plus horses just look cooler :P
Looks Awsome, those old Bretonians were perfect for this.
Thanks!
wow that's awesome great work I'm a scale modeler myself but your scratch building skills are great awesome detail paint too 👍
Thanks! And I've always wanted to try more of the scale modeling stuff, part of what I like about the hobby is how varried it is.

Absolutely! I think I would grab some of the clear caulking/adhesive you can get at the hardware store to add bigger splashes
If anyone wants to copy this diorama, but doesn't have Bretonnians: you can use the Fireforge Knights. The helmet might be a problem though.
Fireforge Albion knights

@@samsowden you could also use the Templar, but would have to do your own helmet decorations
Love your paint job
Thanks!
Did you cook the sand in the oven first? Had a bad experience with spider egs once

Love all the kitbashing work, got to be my favourite part of the hobby. I used that water effect stuff on my board and it ruined it, went all cloudy 😞

Rhaegar and Robert on the same sprue, it was written!
I know right! Was meant to happen :P
