Nice demo, Eric and Paul, one of the best, and Eric was not too annoying this time either, LOL. As to "jokes about painters" I have a few "topical sayings" that you guys can use, especially as teachers, gleaned from the many workshops I took years ago. When someone/student is too weak and stingy with their paint, while painting, say, "Forcrissakes, use some paint, they'll make more!" Also "oil painters have two kinds of clothes, those with paint on them already, and those that Will have paint on them". And finally, "Try not to die, with bad paintings in your studio!!" LOL ;D
Cheers from beautiful and highly paintable southern Arizona!! : )

This is interesting to me because I'm in a value study stage of learning. Anytime I have leftover paint I'll grab a photo from an advertisement and paint it monochrome on scrap. It's something to do while waiting for stages to dry.

Can you give some advice about palettes please? I use a traditional board and I waste so much paint and also find the paint build up in the mixing area difficult to clean off. ( I’m lazy and it is left to dry☹️)

most use a sheet of glass, easy to clean, and must be done constantly, even while painting, or your work will look "muddy".

If the art critic who introduced the painter would stop talking and let the artist explain as he proceeds it would be much more pleasant and less irritating!
