  • Tyson fury‘s excess size, related athletic shortcomings, mediocre power, and susceptibility to being hurt by single power punches would in fact present a dangerous size disparity for him. Mike Tyson, being physically stronger, with a lower center of gravity, extreme speed advantage, and far greater capacity for elusiveness and pinpoint punch combinations from an ambidextrous position, makes him far too much of a challenge for the great big guy.
There is nothing the big guy could do to stop the kind of brutal body assault which would negate any height or imaginary footwork advantage. Tyson would have a field day to the ribs, and by contrast Fury lacks the punch arsenal to accomplish much against iron Mike. Mike Tyson had no trouble landing gorgeous lead rights and left hooks on much taller opponents. Fury has an adequate jab, but it is not particularly hard and he doesn’t vary the rhythm on it all that much. His foot work is professional and competent… But that’s it.
Not only is there nothing particularly daunting about his jabbing and movement, but keep in mind that he has fought such appallingly limited competition that What we have seen of him offers no indication of how he would do against even the mid-level contenders of previous eras, much less precise, technically refined, lightning fast ambidextrous and elusive attacker like the young iron Mike Tyson. Fury is so overrated as to be a symptom of an era which has forgotten what world class boxing is, much less what it looks like.
