      2.54 you said that autonomic nerves are never sensory . It is wrong . There are nerves wich carry sensory impulses from the visceral organs

    • @hamdasn7291
      @hamdasn7291 3 года назад +2

      @@paragswarnkar9907 The visceral sensory division carries signals mainly from the viscera of the thoracic and abdominal cavities. The motor (efferent) division carries motor signals by way of efferent nerve fibers from the CNS to effectors (mainly glands and muscles). efferent never sensory.

    Im trying to figure out what conducts pain sensation from the viscera.....are they somatic or autonomic afferents ( afferent -to the spinal cord) .?? If they are only autonomic afferents from viscera which conduct visceral pain sensation back to the spinal cord, do they have pre and post ganglionic autonomic neurons ??? If so where do the post ganglionic autonomic pain afferents have their cell bodies - the sympathetic ganglia or the dorsal root ganglia.
    Aslo what about the parasympathetic autonomic pain afferents? which pathway do they take?

    What are going to do with me in case I answer your question? Do you know I've kept the answer for more than 30 years. Many professional neurologist will trouble to answer. Ok, the answer is Nucleus tractus mesencephali. It's one of the nuclei of the V th Cranial Brain Nerv Trigeminus. Why ganglion but nuclei at the same time? Technically, as a structure it's a nuclei cos it's placed in the brain stem, but functionally it's a ganglion, cos it is presented with postganglionic fibres(axons).
