    I've used my size 10 needle for 30 projects now and it still works fine :)

      I laughed so hard when I heard her say she uses a needle for about 3 projects and then tosses it. I don't count how many projects I use a needle for. I use it until it literally refuses to work; like when the eye gets smooshed because I try to jam it through a bead. :')

      Good to hear! I'm just starting beading and was shocked that some of the needles are only good for two projects.

    Thanks so much! I am just starting beading, and I had no clue what to purchase for needles -- I think I will try the English beading needles.

    Thank-You....craft stores sell needles but there is not a person in the store that can answer basic questions, this is opening the doors to the question "where do you start".

      Maggie Coughenour I agree. I always have questions in AC Moore or Michaels and no one has answers.

      find like a local owned shop , that’s where I found my help. It was a small shop but it had everything I needed and way more and she even provided classes in the shop

    Do the English beading needles accept all kinds of beading thread, I.e., Fireline, wildfire, etc. I had been using a stiffer beading needle, I think an English beading needle and had experienced no problem threading. When I tried to use Fireline, wildfire, it was almost impossible to thread the needle.

      Yes, you will need to flatten the end of the thread but you will be able to use your English needles for your projects

    The wide eyed needle is harder to get through the holes on smaller beads cuz the thread sits up higher then with the English needle

    Sticking yourself? Isn't that what thimbles are for? Or do they get in the way? I'm a brand new baby beader, and bought a large set of needles, but had no idea what the large eye needles were for. Also did not know they only last for about two projects. That's a little disappointing, but it is what it is.

      Hello there! If you are a beginner, a thimble may be helpful. The more experience you get you'll be able to work with needles without needing a thimble. As with anything else, the more experience, the more efficient you become and you'll learn your own "tips and tricks" for getting the most out of your supplies. Hope this is helpful! Happy beading!

    So what needles would I use to string seed beads onto wire? I'm using .019" Soft Flex Wire & it's too flexible to just stab a bunch of these little beads the way I see others doing. I think the smallest seed beads I'm using are 3mm (outer diameter). Thanks for any help, great video.

      You could use a Big Eye needle or make the end stiff with a little glue

    I work with leather and do beading on to to the leather. My problem is I can't get the needle to thread . What needle is easy to tread that will go through leather

    • @Potomacbeadco

      For 2 - does she have a picture of the type of leather? Sometimes you may need to punch holes in the leather first if it is thick. If it is thin then the Tulip 10 short sharp.

    Can you use 4mm fire polished beads on the bead spinner ?

    • @Jeni10
      @Jeni10 6 лет назад

      Rojeania Fuscaldo No, they're for seed beads and you need at least 30g of them in the spinner to make it work.

    what kind of eye is on the bead spinner needles

    I use only wide eye needles. I would love to use the others but I've bought so many packs of size 10 beading needles only to find the eyes are too small for any size thread Ive bought.

    • @Jeni10
      @Jeni10 6 лет назад +1

      Aquarius Lady Try some Nozue Sonoko 78dtex thread. It's more expensive than Sono and KO threads but it's far superior and you don't need to wax it.

    this maybe foolish but im new to jewelry making. Im struggling with the beading needles. I have a size 10 beading needle and I cant seem to thread a size 15lb soft flex wire and its fine. LOL maybe its just me

    • @Potomacbeadco
      @Potomacbeadco  10 лет назад +1

      Soft Flex/Beadalon/Acculon thread you should be able to use without a needle. Beading needles are really designed for threads like Wildfire/Fireline etc. Thanks!
