    Impressive, a clever use of a tiny space, and it's lovely to see sustainability in the city.

    It's true, constraints encourage creative thinking and innovative ideas. I love the fact that all rainwater is harvested from the property and utilised. What a wonderful set up!

      there are so many resources that people are unaware of. collecting your own rainwater is just one!

    Nice to see a genuine small city garden. Mostly when I see on RUclips a "small city garden" located in USA or Australia, it is almost what we (here in the Amsterdam region) consider a park. But this is really inspiring!! Great what they did and thanks for sharing.

    Every thing is possible if we put our minds to work.
    They are doing an Awesome job.
    And everything looks so organized and tidy.
    Thanks for sharing.

    Finally! A townhouse like ours! Every other 'suruburban' video I've watched has massive amounts of land and a huge house. Great job!

      It is something a person could build themselves cheap too. They just had the money to make it streamline but if you don't then do it cheap. It still works .

    Fantastic architecture, (those counterbalanced atrium window omg) to nestle a thoroughly well planned garden into. Lovely for the whole family.
    A bigger chook house or letting them free range except for sleeping would be ideal.

    constraints certainly lead you to try new things. We too are in the city, but on a first floor apartment, with quite a large balcony - and have been able to make it pretty productive. Asking a bit much of our neighbours to have chickens here though.

    The plants do not eat the bacteria in an aquaponics setup. The fish produce ammonia. The ammonia is broken down in the plant beds by two types of bacteria. One turns ammonia into nitrites and the other turns those nitrites into nitrates. The plants consume the converted nitrates. The more ya know

    Not really aquaponics if you can't consume the fish. Didn't look like there was much growing in the vertical gardens. Only 5000 litres?

    The problem with being sustainable or even green is it’s so freaking expensive no one can afford it not a regular working family that does it have like architectural degrees things like that I hope everyone’s reading this and makes a statement about it because it’s true I can’t even afford to have the solar panels put on my house because they’re so so freaking expensive and I am totally organic partially sub stainable

    • @teem9010
      @teem9010 2 года назад

      i agree! i have started organic gardens this past year and it can be quite expensive! also i can not imagaine working a full time job and keeping a garden! i also would love solar panels but cant afford them!

  • @rebacarmack8335
    @rebacarmack8335 3 года назад +2

    These houses I’ve seen are awesome- but I feel you would have to be quite wealthy to afford.

  • @Keiichi879
    @Keiichi879 3 года назад +7

    When he says not having constraints = $$$$$ to throw around for experiments to harvest a three eggs a day and a couple heads of lettuce. Not sustainable or feasible for most people unfortunately.

    • @RenAtkins
      @RenAtkins 2 года назад +2

      That's true, but not everything needs to work for everyone. I'm happy they've chosen a lifestyle they enjoy and that doesn't produce as much waste and damage as it could. And if it inspires other wealthy people to make different choices then that's a win.

  • @vvjp5732

    Sounds like rich people showing off how much money they have. Most working adults who've bought these types of properties won't be able to do that.
