Vidit is a gentleman indeed -- allowing Abasov in his home city to checkmate him on the board in front of the home fans.

    • @prayagagarwal5030
      @prayagagarwal5030 Год назад +6

It's kinda hard for him to get into the candidates this time, as his only remaining hope is the Grand Swiss, where it will be very difficult for him to reach the final as it is a Swiss tournament. He will have to face top players almost every round unlike here where he was really the underdog only against Nepo. Against everyone else he was a slight favourite on paper.

Don't underestimate the requirements of playing at this level. An absolutely insignificant inaccuracy at my level is the end of the world for players at this level. It just doesn't take much for them to give the game away if the opponent plays accurately enough to take advantage of a small mistake. All of these guys in this are really really strong. I think all too often people look at these players and think, well this guy is just 2650, he's not all that strong. Just trust me, that's a really strong chess player and they're pretty good.

I really don't understand all of the hate for the London system. I even have your Chessable course on the anti London system. I have never played the London in my life, but it's just another opening and after you get through the theory it's time to play chess. You have to play chess against your opponent, I don't see what the big deal is. Either you are better or you are not. Get through the opening with an even position and give it your best shot. That's what chess is all about, I just don't understand why people have such a distasteful attitude toward an opening that clearly works. Are they just pissed because it works?

2nd : Is Vidit the biggest reason India would want classical 9LX?
Vidit beat Sergey Karjakin to get in the 2019 WFRCC quarter-finals. But then...
Wesley So & Fabi expectedly do better in classical than in rapid for both 9LX & chess. Now, I'm not familiar with Vidit but
    - Wesley So does 30% better.
    - Fabi does 40% better.
    - VIDIT DOES 300% BETTER.
LIKE 50% CLASSICAL SCORE BUT 12.5% RAPID SCORE.
    Vidit in 9LX
    - is the top Indian classical player
    - is the worst rapid player among the top 9 of the 2019 WFRCC.
    - in classical ties for 2nd place w/ Fabi & Nepo behind Wesley So.
When is Tata Steel Classical Chess960 ? It should be a knockout where Vidit is seeded into the quarter-finals. It can be 60min, not 120min.
P.s. In the 2019 WFRCC, wesley so beat magnus in 3x classical in a row!
Question : When was the last time this happened in chess that someone lost 3x classical in a row in the finals of a FIDE or PCA WCC (or finals of knockouts candidates or semi-finals of a knockout WCC) ?
Answer : Vishy Anand beat Alexei Shirov in 2000.
2 whole decades Vishy's record stood - broken only in a variant!

Poor game by Vidit. What was he thinking castling queen side? I am no GM but it's a terrible mistake.

It's sad that Vidit has lost this match. He was well prepared for Nepo but may be he played casually with Abasov.
