@@MizuMing Kazulinski has also made several videos with playable companions, for example. I´ve seen what´s available and probably the best one is the video where Astarion chooses to bite Shadowheart when she sleeps. Awww, he looks somehow guilty and even caresses her face before that, very different from the scene when he bites Pandirna (because he was actually hungry with Pandirna, I suppose). The narrator mode is lovely to hear but we already know those lines.
@@svoba4af I don't know who Pandirna is. I can only guess renamed Tav? Astarion does try to flirt with Shadowheart a little, talking about her gloomy name for such a pretty flower. We know from Astarion's origin story that the bite was just a test to see if he was free from Cazador's rules. So regardless of who he bites, it's not that personal (at first). The narrative mode is important as well, because it tells us how somebody feels when they speak internally. There's inflections there that we don't get to see otherwise. How does a character feel when they're experiencing something, are they joyous, spiteful, angry, cautious, etc. What's important is the delivery, so I want to see the narrative mode back as an option later.

I like Astarions character, and would let him drink tab blood. However, I like that you could chose to react at the start, since human instinct is to fight or flight, and it also gives a sense of; “respect my boundaries or else”.
Aw I kind of like this version of the scene, elbowing him feels like a gut reaction to someone creeping up on you. And immediately grabbing the stake only for him to smack it away gives the moment more context when you can take it back to stab him if he bites you. Cool to see nonetheless :D
I do wish they hadn't chosen to cut these options for the full release- at least, as far as I can tell, they aren't available in the full game. Maybe they were reinstated and I need a lower affinity toward him when he tries to nibble in order to get violent?
Thank God I saw this comment.. Saw the video and I was wondering why the hell I can't kick him haha. This is so much more real to me. Sad they took it away..
Rational part of my brain of course hes going to be more animalistic he is hungry and weak and its his first time having thinking creatures blood. He also hasn't known us for long. The romantic in me but I want my sensual vampire bite as he drinks my blood for the first time. The horny bit of my brain well there is the romance scene
My main girl will probably just tell him no in this scene (without violence) and allow him to feed on enemies we´re going to kill anyway (because it´s safer for the party). But in the romance scene, oh boy, she´s curious and brave and knows he can control himself better now. Also, he can actually get what he wants without hurting anyone.
I remember almost getting lured into letting him bite me, but then i realized that he was doing that thing where vampires charm their prey and told him to go suck a fat hog in the woods.
On the one hand, I love how they subvert the modern-day stereotype of sexy vampire bites by going back to vampirism's roots and depicting the whole scene as horror rather than romance. The look of fear/discomfort at 2:30 as Tav lays down, the terrifying ugly face that Astarion makes before biting into their neck, the way the narrator describes it as being like a shard of ice in your neck, the terrified look in poor Tav's eyes at 3:09, these are all such brilliant little details that show how horrifying it would probably be to actually be bitten by a vampire. On the other hand... I was hoping for a sexy vampire bite scene. 😂
All I can think is the that episode of south park when butters is a vampire and tried to suck Cartmans blood but he woke up and screamed mom butters gave me a hicky.
How can one man (well, vampire) endure so much suffering/abuse and yet it's so hilarious to punch/elbow him in the face or kick him right where it hurts? Maybe I'm sick thinking it's funny to kick this bro when he's down but he just doesn't know who his friends/enemies are or when to stop...plus his dialogue is gold One of my favorite moments is forcing him on stage with Dribbles...no other follower reacts so hilariously. I laugh my tadpole out with the Astarion/kick the squirrel encounter and one of the funniest moments is when you turn into a mind flayer and the narrator says his brain is smooth...that explains everything Man these fools knew what they were doing. There aren't many video game characters as hilarious...maybe Cicero or Salazar get close
well I know what options am choosing for my next playthrough 😂 Edit: am guessing this is only in early access because you dont get these option it would seem, pity
As someone who never got the opportunity to play EA, we were ROBBED. Wish I knew how to mod, patch the animations and dialogue back in. "Pushing him off" is letting him off easy.
my current tav is a very sweet autistic druid called alexei who's kind of naive because he prefers seeing the best in the world and people but that doesn't mean he's stupid. (his autism is based on how mine comes to be i have justification in character for every choice i make) the only reason he lets him drink is to: 1. have a strong vampire spawn on his side 2. make ''friends'' with said vampire so he could always have him if he needed him for something 3. feeding him so he achieved being strong 4. just cuz he's also very nice and doesn't just want to use his abilities just because he's a vampire but because he genuinely wants him to be his friend because if they're stuck together due to tadpoles he might as well befriend them (this reason is like 75% of it the rest is split the remaining 25%) just because he believes in goodness and likes to be good doesn't mean hes stupid (also i plan on making him have to make more and more difficult moral decisions (as one has to in the game) and slowly but surely having him have to become morally gray. i plan on romancing astarion who's morally questionable and i plan on making my lovesick sweetheart druid stoop to his level to match his crazy cuz he might be nice and will always be but he'd definitely do anything to achieve enough power to protect his friends even if it means going against his morals to achieve said power) (also I am not ascending astarion because he gives me my moms vibes ascended and there's no way my creation even one thats like only 0.05% based on me will date someone like my mother cuz i hate that woman)
I planned on romancing Astarion but I got that dialogue where he says he doesn’t feel anything during sex because of how Cazador exploited him and I was like OMG YOU JUST NEED A FRIEND. 😿 So then I romanced Gale and the bastard left me to become a god sooo….. @@rosehill7919 Considering he's never had blood from "thinking creatures" before, it's totally understandable he'd lose himself further, not know when enough is enough, just as much as you'd lose yourself in letting him drink you, which you can choose to do. Why didn't they leave the punch in the face and the kick in the balls in the game? 😂😂😢
I wish they kept in the part where he smacks the stick😂 it’s so silly
Love the wooden stake joke lol
0:52 that smack is so funny to me. I love him so much.🥺
Its so childish 😂😂 I love him too much to hurt him tho.
There’s so many occasions to destroy Astarion’s balls 😂
isnt there only 1 more times?
@@TheChosenOne462 on for ascended and one for if he does kill you in this scene, so at least 2 XD
I was gonna say something in addition to this but... hmm... maybe not XD
omg i wish they kept the part where you elbow and knee him lol like thats so funny esp if you romance him later
That was hilarious! Him getting decked by you, and him grabbing at the stick... Dying here XD
This game is really funny.
"I'll be gentle as a babe."
**MARMF**
*eats tav/durge like a hamburger*
He really said ‘but did you die, tho?’💀💀
*slapping my neck* COME GET YALL JUICE
why isn't this in the full game?! 😭😭😭😭
0:14 can't stop laughing at his face
Spawn can't charm you.
In DnD lore Vampire spawn can't charm you, only true vampire can.
honestly, its a shame they shortened this scene.
0:42 i really like the little sting they had here
I hadn’t noticed that before-thank you! It is cool!
"Gentle as a babe." Spoken like someone who's never nursed before, geeze.
ROFL 🤣
So mean to our boi 😭
Tav: (grabs the stick)
Astarion: BAD TAV, DROP IT!
Poor Astarion, he was hit in the face and threatened with a stake, then he was hit on the balls. He doesn't have a life, but a fairy tale....... :")
Dude, you could have just asked.
I wish they kept this option instead of the poignard in the heart
AGREED!!
Neuron activation
All I can think is the that episode of south park when butters is a vampire and tried to suck Cartmans blood but he woke up and screamed mom butters gave me a hicky.
He looked so funny after he got caught
You’ve got some blood running down right there buddy reuse and recycle ♻️
How can one man (well, vampire) endure so much suffering/abuse and yet it's so hilarious to punch/elbow him in the face or kick him right where it hurts? Maybe I'm sick thinking it's funny to kick this bro when he's down but he just doesn't know who his friends/enemies are or when to stop...plus his dialogue is gold
One of my favorite moments is forcing him on stage with Dribbles...no other follower reacts so hilariously. I laugh my tadpole out with the Astarion/kick the squirrel encounter and one of the funniest moments is when you turn into a mind flayer and the narrator says his brain is smooth...that explains everything
Man these fools knew what they were doing. There aren't many video game characters as hilarious...maybe Cicero or Salazar get close
I wish they’d left the improvised stake bit in the full release
Astarion's little cheetit smile at 4:11 he's so cute in this scene
I wonder how many times you can knee Asterion in the balls and still maintain him in the party and like you.
I would never have made him ask. Just take my neck, please.
Why’d they remove the elbow from the release?
IKR? There should be an option between I’m Okay With This and I’m Killing You. :)
Why didn't they keep that?! 😂
well I know what options am choosing for my next playthrough 😂
Edit: am guessing this is only in early access because you dont get these option it would seem, pity
This makes me want to buy the game. I need a job so I can earn money for this.
Now I want to play the early game 😭😭😭
Serves Astarion right for making an ass of himself.
OH NOOOOO, why they remove it from de final game ? It's so fun xD
As someone who never got the opportunity to play EA, we were ROBBED. Wish I knew how to mod, patch the animations and dialogue back in. "Pushing him off" is letting him off easy.
Have anybody noticed the sound of his voice when he get hit?
I'm on durge run, I have a high approval but he never bitten me... sadness.
Is this a fighter option? Barbsrian straight up murders him. I found that out the hard way.
Just Early Access
''Shit'' - Asterion 2023/2024/ and whatever year it is on the actual planet in the game.
Just think, if you ascend you could kick him in the balls on act 1 and act 3. It goes full circle 😂
"Knee him in the LEG" eh?
Astarion is a vampire spawn... he can bleed?
my current tav is a very sweet autistic druid called alexei who's kind of naive because he prefers seeing the best in the world and people but that doesn't mean he's stupid. (his autism is based on how mine comes to be i have justification in character for every choice i make) the only reason he lets him drink is to:
1. have a strong vampire spawn on his side
2. make ''friends'' with said vampire so he could always have him if he needed him for something
3. feeding him so he achieved being strong
4. just cuz he's also very nice and doesn't just want to use his abilities just because he's a vampire but because he genuinely wants him to be his friend because if they're stuck together due to tadpoles he might as well befriend them (this reason is like 75% of it the rest is split the remaining 25%)
just because he believes in goodness and likes to be good doesn't mean hes stupid (also i plan on making him have to make more and more difficult moral decisions (as one has to in the game) and slowly but surely having him have to become morally gray. i plan on romancing astarion who's morally questionable and i plan on making my lovesick sweetheart druid stoop to his level to match his crazy cuz he might be nice and will always be but he'd definitely do anything to achieve enough power to protect his friends even if it means going against his morals to achieve said power) (also I am not ascending astarion because he gives me my moms vibes ascended and there's no way my creation even one thats like only 0.05% based on me will date someone like my mother cuz i hate that woman)
I planned on romancing Astarion but I got that dialogue where he says he doesn’t feel anything during sex because of how Cazador exploited him and I was like OMG YOU JUST NEED A FRIEND. 😿
So then I romanced Gale and the bastard left me to become a god sooo….. Going to try to romance Astarion again but this time not make the dialogue choice that sent me down the original dialogue tree. If I can remember.
If that makes sense? 🤣
@@coffeeminx746 i mean he uses sex to manipulate ppl and from what I heard on yt after he opens up it takes a while but as long as your supportive and respectful and kind he becomes your bg
Does one have to be a particular class, species, or have a particular stat/skill/feat for this? I only started playing this year and thought I'd explored all the options for this scene, but I've never had those options.
It was only available in Early Access.
@@coffeeminx746 damn
@@coffeeminx746 larian needs to bring this back
This option is completely missing from my playthrough. Any ideas?
It was only in Early Access. It didn’t make it into the final version. Which is too bad, it’s such a great choice. :)
I don't understand why. It was scripted, voiced, programmed....why nerf it?
Okay but side eye 😭
How did you get this reaction?
Is this early access dialogue?? I remember this interaction quite differently!
Yes, only in Early Access. :)
Is this from the beta version
Yes it is. I think they removed it from the final release.
Him with a nosebleed is kinda..
10.09.23 what was that XD? he looked so desperate, i feel sad looking at him
I don‘t know, I kinda feel bad for him when he gets kicked or hit, he suffered enough pain already..
Also I think I‘m one of the few people who don‘t find it funny when people get kicked in the nuts. 😅
I mean, we did say "drink a little" and he is the one who went nuts. If he stopped after the first few sips, it'd be fine. He'll keep drinking till he kills you, so fair is fair.
Agreed, it breaks my heart
BAD END SPOILERS

I mean, they just pushed the ball kicking back to a romance scene after Astarion has ascended to a true vampire. Ironically, that IS a funny instance of it because ascended Astarion is an ass. Not Astarion, mind you, ASCENDED Astarion. It's after we essentially lose him, so... Kick away or keep him a spawn.
@@rosehill7919 Considering he's never had blood from "thinking creatures" before, it's totally understandable he'd lose himself further, not know when enough is enough, just as much as you'd lose yourself in letting him drink you, which you can choose to do. Though at least the knee is fairer to me than outright killing him.
@@SUPERSONICGIRLIFY you know, you can just say "No" without kicking him in the balls. He'll end the romance, but he won't leave a party.
I mean realistic I wake up to the b tchy one the group hovering over me, I would do the same. Now, after I would let him explain himself, however. You can't jump on me, I don't know like that.
Do only female characters get this option?
LOL I wonder?
Have yet to have any option to kick him in the groin n such and he cant slap the stake attempt away so they may reasonably have cut it from the game. But all companions are made so that any gender etc can have relationships with them and similar interactions.
OMG WTF XDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
What motivation should be at that moment do anything but stub him immediately? In real life you wont to chat, friend and let bite you to predator who wonna EAT you too? A killed him. Maximum authentic reaction by my view.
It's not real life, you dumbass.
