My wife really enjoys this song! She says it makes her feel positive! It certainly has changed the atmosphere here because I'm feeling pretty joyous myself!
I had to give this a listen after seeing the gnawa... I was not disappointed! Song of Solomon, with a Northwest African vibe. Love your voices, love your music!!! You guys ROCK!!! I'm your newest fan!
I love all your music especially your voice beautiful puts me in good mood especially for tomorrow when I get up in the morning also when I have a panic attack it it helps me relieve stress 🇺🇸🇮🇱✡️🕎🕍
What an incredible singer and “guembri” player! I love the background singers and the lady playing the trumpet too. The rhythms are just fantastic, such an enrichment to the song. Actually this song vaguely reminds me of the music of Tamikrest, a tuareg band from Mali. Their rhythms sound somehow similar to this one. Which is again proof of just how small our world is 😀😀😀 Anyways thank you for the beautiful music and fantastic performance!!!
I love this -- songs with women expressing their beautiful creativity of music and song. More sisterhood, if you will, songs please -- so needed right now and so uplifting!
Enjoying the channel - especially the Andalusian connection. I enjoyed listening to the instrument. The melody reminded me of the Jazz group Weather Report who composed Black Market. One of my favourite tunes.
Beautiful. I’ve never seen this instrument before. The right hand technique is very similar to the clawhammer or frailing technique used on the West African/Appalachian banjo.
This is performance is influenced by the music of Gnawa people (as stated in the title), although the performers here are obviously not Gnawa. Gnawa are the descendants of enslaved black Africans taken from Western and Central Africa to Northern Africa (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia) centuries ago. That's why there's similarities with West African Banjo of USA, same cultural origins. Truth I will speak to you! The vessels are filling, my father gathers them together. Praise for my lover, my husband trees planted by still waters...praise be to the most high for I have found a well for me. My husband built for me. I am in love and we are one! Honey I have found eyes bright. My lover loves me now I him. Who knew waters that live I happy and being filled with his love, I swoon and delight but rough is the wilderness but it is for me for rivers of living water flows out from me...
This is great and love how it riffs on Song of Songs, I'm sure Solomon HaMelek would be proud. However, the part in Arabic would have worked much better translated into Hebrew. There's a whole cannon to express those sentiments...ein od milvado, avinu shbshamim, HaShem Hu HaElohim, HaShem Elokanu HaShem Echad etc. Also, let's clarify who the "rasul" is, it's Moses and the holy messenger of G-d are the angels (it's literal meaning in Hebrew)
Oh my gosh how pretty! How beautiful! How ABBA FATHER must be pleased with y'all for producing such fruit unto H-m. I'm reminded of a Jewish princess i accidentally fell in love with. I see her everywhere I see Hashem. I miss her so much. But I know this is only happening in my mind. I distanced myself from her because she ignored me and I never wanted her to say I was harassing her. A total fool that I am for accidentally falling for her. If love is a choice. I'm a fool for choosing to love someone that chooses to not love me. Now I just want to be alone with ABBA FATHER HASHEM. I want nothing. No human love. I just want to return to my CREATOR. To live is to be away from H-m. To live is to sin for me. To live is to heap up sins against H-M and cause a gulf to further expand between us. Then why live? Because it's H-S breath of life in me still for H-M. I am H-S. 😂 Yeah whatever I'm bipolar and write stuff sometimes. 😂 But it's true... 😔

Interesting stringed instrument. What is that?
It is the guembri, and it is played by the artists of the Gnawa style originating from the city Essaouira in Morocco
