Tyler Ley was my professor at OSU for my undergraduate studies. It’s an understatement by saying he’s a concrete fanatic. I worked under him as an undergraduate researcher for two years and it was nonstop testing with him. A great and fortunate experience to have. He also has the most graduate and undergraduate students working for him at OSU. Partially due to the amount of people needed for making and testing concrete.
Okay, new goal for 2022: Make Mat’s Top 10 for 2023. Great list! Annnd, Bondy was my PT slab professor at UCLA, one of my favorite classes 💯. No need to pay tuition watch his lectures, he uploads them all for free 🤯. Highly recommend!
Hi Matt, the fun part is I have checked all these channels before itself and are of superb quality. I can also recommend TheStructuarlWorld channel too.
Great video Matt it really is a good community which is growing. I myself am working on a water engineering channel for young professionals looking for some insight 👍🏻
You Such a nice guy.... Alot a people are selfish and will not do a video like that، "well not mention others" ... I can tell that you are a genuine guy
Dazz was also using Sketchup (99% sure). It might throw some viewers off because while you were mentioning the 2D sketching software "from Apple" the video was showing 3D Sketchup. If you go on Dazz's channel you'll see some videos with that 2D app Matt mentioned as well. Cool stuff! Don't underestimate what you can do with Sketchup. I use Rhino in a much similar fashion, but to be honest, Sketchup is probably better for 9 out of 10 engineers given their other priorities and Sketchup's shorter learning curve. Gotta say thanks for putting together this video! I've been dying to find a good concrete specific channel. Sadly, Canadians don't handle concrete very well. I'm trying to figure out if it is a code issue, an education issue, or what (I think both). I've started studying the U.S. codes and after a few weeks could conclude that they are far better: They tend to be more thorough and more concisely written, from what I've seen so far.
Greg Michaelson's lectures are OP, right up there with Bondy's. Nasser Yari also deserves a shoutout, does examples with bridge engineering and other interesting/practical topics.
Can you make this type video for others sections of civil engineering field.... It will be helpfull for fresher's to choose their suitable & preferable carrier options.....
Thanks a lot for this video. Now I know more channels which are related to civil engineering. I also have some videos related to civil engineering and the CAD software Allplan. :) Everyday Dazz and Brendan are my favorite youtubers in this field. :)
If i will be having a list of 11 Structural Engineering YT Channel, I will also list this 10 + this channel. I've watched and subscribed in all those channel :D
Hey Mat, love this video! I’ve been wanting to reach out to more structural engineers for advice so this video was right on time! Thank you! Love your work as always and keep it up! I have a question for u though. PS I’m a high school senior aspiring to be a structural engineer. I remember in your degree review video of your bachelors and masters that its a good idea to take as many structural design classes as you can during undergrad. At my school you do take a fair number of structural design classes but you only get three directed electives for your major. Would you say AFTER you graduate with your degree its not a bad idea to take a few extra classes if you want before going into the work force to really hone in on your theory or no? Would you say just waste no more time in school and head into the workforce and learn on the job and take seminars/audit classes like you said before in previous videos. I was just wondering because there were many classes that seemed interesting to me but i wouldnt have enough room for. 😅 Thx.
I’d say work first and learn as you go. Most people tend to take more classes because they can’t get a job, so if you can get a job first, go for it. You can technically always take classes after work or go back to school, but you can’t always get work experience whenever you want.
What are YOUR favorite civil structural engineering RUclips channels?
Check out Building Integrity!!! He has alot of indepth analysis videos of structural failures and repairs, also uses alot of visuals
Mat picardal, Brandon Hasty and Everyday dazz
Enterfea with Lukasz! Such a great resource for FEA and the general love for structural design! :D
Mat. You. You are the first structural guy that I know. Im currently senior in CE
You????👊
Thank you Mat for the shoutout and listing me in your top 10, appreciate it mate! We grow stronger together.
Matt thank you for the shout out! Much appreciated from the little guy! Lets keep building and growing together!
Appreciate the shout out! Keep up the good work :)

Thanks a lot for this video. even though I knew about a few of the channels prior to watching this video But I found this to be very helpful.

Hi Matt, firstly I would like to thank you for making such type of informative video. These is really helpful...keep doing..love from India...
Excellent list

Another great channel is Quick Question Engineering, a relatively new channel but lots of really well thought out & helpful info from a PE
Thanks for sharing!

Yeah greg michaelson is probably the best.
Thanks for sharing, been hearing those are great from the other comments as well

Mat great video! Thanks for the information. How can I find out more about sponsoring some of your content and videos in the future?
@Dr. Structure is another useful addition
Great list! I knew a few of these. You should include yourself haha
Good luck on the SE exam. I think I've given up, it's just too much work :(
I've heard Civil Engineering Academy has a good one. :)
Nice information
You are keep posting great videos ❤️♥️❤️ many thanks
Which broadcast you can share it

I have a dream to make my own channel once i get successful and do this kind of podcast..... Surely will do with all u guys one day.
Honourable Mention: *BEng Hielscher*

Thank you so muchhhhhhhh
Still, Mat Picardal for me
Good luck for the licensing exam.
Gregory Michaelson is probably the best. He has entire lectures posted on his youtube and they are even entertaining.

Thank you dear
Hi , What are the best analytical construction programs used by the civil engineer?
Dude ...I have one questions for all...why we cant using c10 and c15 ratio for slab concrete ..but ..this ratio of concrete have 1000psi + ....why
come back mat really miss your videos
Looking forward to it now that I passed my licensing exams! Thanks for the continued support.
@@MatPicardal Congratulations and I'm so glad you're back
