as i’m graduating from college and moving to a big expensive city in just a few weeks, i loved this video!! would love to see a monthly budget video and/or a what i eat in the day too. keep it up carrie! 💛
thank you, sabrina!! 🤗 there are for sure ways to live much cheaper than i do (but also MUCH more expensive lol) but i'm glad this was helpful! i love watching both of those types of videos and can def do them!
Hey Sabrina congratulations to you‼ I'm also graduating soon December to me exact i would love to know how has your transition into the big city has been with work and all
I have watched so many of these and I came across this one and by far my favorite. I like how you showed everything while keeping tabs on the side. Love!
Another great video Carrie! I really enjoyed how you broke down the cost of everything and was honest about what you pay, what is free sometimes because of work and what you like to treat yourself to! Would love to see more videos like this as it's cool to see what people spend in different cities! Thanks for sharing! :)
thank you so much! i had a lot of fun with this one and it was really helpful to put things in perspective for myself in terms of spending. definitely want to make more of these videos!
Just found your channel and I loved this video! I've been watching a lot of what I spend in a week vids as I want to do one on my channel - a London version as that's where I'm based - and this is one of the best vids I've seen. I really enjoyed the editing and thought it was interesting that you went into such detail re the meals you cook from scratch - I don't think I'd be able to be so granular. Amazing job 👏
I find your freshness and sweetness a joy to watch Carrie 😊. And having found you via a slight youtube wormhole of micro NY flats indulgent viewing, I've subscribed and am enjoying your vids. Thank you for being so open and 'real'! From this lil creative chica over the pond in Manchester UK! 😘
Seems extremely expensive. But if you factor in NYC, no car insurance, car payment, gas, oil changes. Then I can totally be ok with what you spent. My hubby and I work together, eat together, & of course drive together...... for our 4 (10 hour days) work week I spend about $200 for the 2 of us. Then on our 3 day weekends, we eat out. ( He hates my cooking) But for those 3 days he pays. It works for us. It is cool to really look at what you spend, & think about improvements. Tks for sharing.
I loved this video! I cook a lot of my foods at home and bring to work, but there is a day or two when I treat myself. NYC has a huge selection of places to eat, so I can’t blame you for getting some tasty treats!
this was the most reasonable expenditures by a young women ive yet to see on this video trend so far! haha theres always places we could cut here in there, but i think yours was fine and its important we still pay into the economy and dont try to cut to much! good job!
this is brilliant and really specific about all the little details. Would love for you to do another one updating on how your spending changed due to covid. Also, are you paying every time you go to the gym?? Why not get a membership?
Claire Lewis hi thank you so much! this is one of my favorite videos to date and i was actually considering doing another - things have changed quite a bit these days. i did have a membership here - just broke everything down by the (would be) daily cost to put it all in perspective for this video 😊
I hate being that person, but I love how you have a friend who is not the same race as you. Of course nothing is wrong with people having friends who are their race too, but it is really refreshing and shows this diversity and inclusivity that a lot of big youtubers lack. Birds of a feather flock together. Any who your video was awesome and it gave me some great food ideas.
Why don't you make your own kombucha? I drink like two glasses a day and it's way more economical. Plus you already buy fruits which you can use for second ferments. You can adopt a scoby from a fermentation group or culture one. Watch a youtube video on how to.
I feel better about the spending because I know I won't be buying out for lunch/dinner so much. Ill probably spend half of that on groceries for the month
definitely! especially here it's so easy to rack up a $70 bill at dinner (for just one person), and i know so many people who eat out like that often. prioritizing and mindful spending is key 👌🏽
thank you!! i want to start bringing lunch so badly but it's been so hard for me to actually start 😩luckily, i now work from home a few times a week so that definitely helps.
Love your channel. We have very little in common - maybe only that we are both women and vegetarian :) but I find your videos so interesting and there's always inspo. Maybe in a previous life I was a stylish 20-something living in NYC. Lol. Would you consider using a KeepCup or reusable cup for your trips to Starbucks? Just a suggestion...
haha thank you!! and yes 100%! i've definitely started thinking about my options since i go pretty regularly and really hate to waste the plastic. i recently bought a stainless steel straw though so it's a start 🙏🏼
I loved this video! It was so well edited and loved the humor “this is clearly a big week for monthly payments” lol I felttttt that and can so relate haha
I really enjoyed that video! Must have been a lot of work for you but it was very interesting to watch :) I would be interested in a video like that in which you try to cut down on your plastic consumption or try to prepare more of your meals and take them with you, your probably could save a lot of money by doing that, would be interesting to see the difference :)
totally do it! i want to try a full month now, but i'm scared haha. the granola is nature's path hemp granola and it's my favorite ever! i eat it by itself, as cereal with milk, etc 😍
Super intersting. It's a pity that you didn't include an analysis of your spending though. Obviously eating out less would save you a lot, but I guess that's NYC.
Oh wow, it makes me realize that maybe i could be spending just as much and i didn't know😭😭😭 why did i feel like i spend 30$/week haha i was wrong, numbers add up quickly
This is pretty frugal for NYC.. Except for those K drinks.. The gym average as over 11 dollars each time you go? Pretty high.. I exercise at home and a walker.. If I read right, the gym is costing you 46.00 a week... About 200 a month.. Must be Equinox. I love them, as a mystery shopper been in most of them to take tours. Just too high.. Better to put in retirement..or to buy your own place.. Says me the older lady.
Beautiful and smart! 👍😊 Thank you so much for your tips. 🙏 This is my first time visit your video on youtube. Hi, my name is Martha. Could you or anyone please tell me where is the affordable place to buy a groceries offline? Because I can't find Walmart or Shoprite in NYC. And according to your opinion what area that have most affordable studio apartment/condos for a rent or buy? Thank you in advance. GOD bless you! 😇💜
Emilie Peters she has an unlimited pass and the $4.23 listed breaks down the cost of the monthly pass into a day. so it is implied she does not need to pay for the subway every time.
I feel like I’ve been cursed with lenses that no longer allow me to enjoy videos the way I once did. Because although I normally love these kinds of videos and find them helpful, relaxing, and interesting to watch, now the only thing I see is immense plastic waste. There is so much single use plastic in every frame of this vlog, it makes me really sad 😢 I think awareness is so important. I hope that doesn’t come off harsh, but I just think we need to be more accountable. Thank you for the video though. I do appreciate that content and the time you took to put it out there
I think this is very expressive week. I prefer to eat at home and take my own food with me to work or college. Food is very expressive when you don't cook it.
I loved how honest that was. Not many people feel comfortable sharing that kind of information and I appreciate that you did.
thank you!

Really enjoyed this video, editing was great and you broke everything down so nicely
thank you so much! glad you liked the editing too 🤗
I have watched so many of these and I came across this one and by far my favorite. I like how you showed everything while keeping tabs on the side. Love!
is it weird to want more of this exact video? I love it so much. maybe a monthly spending version?
not weird at all! i might do more/similar ones in the future! i'd love to do a month but i'm honestly scared to know the total 😳
I like how comprehensive and accurate your video is (i.e. Including the one off charges and grocery price breakdown)!
Another great video Carrie! Love the editing and organization of the money spent in this video 😍
That was awesome! Thank you for taking the time to do that!!! That video had to have been a lot of work to make. I hope to live in nyc one day!!
it was a loooot of filming, tracking down receipts, and numbers haha. thank you!! 🤗
this video format and style is so cool👀👏
just found your channel and i am obsessed!! already watched all your videos :) love you
ahh thank you so much!! 💚
Loved this so much, I could watch so many of these.
That was really interesting. It’s fun to compare what you spend to what I spend here in Canada. I wanna see more videos like this! :)
i'm planning to do more of these for sure! thank you!

Oh nice video! This was an interesting video, I found myself glued to it the whole time. Then again I do love budgeting and food videos lol.
hahah both good things - i always love watching people's what i eat in a day videos

This makes me want to do the same thing, but terrified to see how much I actually spend!! 😅 great vid!

heh 🥰 thank you and welcome!!
Great video! The tone/voice reminds me of Refinery29’s Money Diaries 💕
Great video. My week is similar except I'm in the suburbs and use my car. I do bring lunch from home to save💰
thank you!! i want to start bringing lunch so badly but it's been so hard for me to actually start 😩luckily, i now work from home a few times a week so that definitely helps.
Moving to nyc this summer, this was super helpful!
aw i'm glad! it varies depending on what my weeks look like - sometimes it can be a more or a lot less
I really like this video! and now I am also wondering about my weekly spendings in NYC...
thank you!! i don't even wanna know what my total would be on a week where i'm impulse shopping 😳
really enjoyed your video!! very honest !! NYC living is a struggle
This was very cool! Thanks for sharing!
thanks for watching!! 🤗
You should make yo own lunch!! It saves a ton of money and most of the time it’s healthier!! But if you prefer buying lunch then you do your thing!

This was so insightful! I love your channel 💖
thank you so much 🤗🖤

You've totally inspired me to do one of these! Also- I want to try that fruit and granola mix. Is there any special granola brand that you buy?
totally do it! i want to try a full month now, but i'm scared haha. the granola is nature's path hemp granola and it's my favorite ever! i eat it by itself, as cereal with milk, etc 😍
Does your friend ft have a channel?
what software do you use to edit your videos?
final cut pro x!

you should make more videos like this one!
Great video. Do you have the monthly unlimited metro card?
i do! $4.23 is $127 broken down by day :)

I wanna listen to your Spotify playlist!
Very interesting...Thank you!
thank you for watching!!
whys the second trip on the train free? is that just a thing ny does?
Emilie Peters she has an unlimited pass and the $4.23 listed breaks down the cost of the monthly pass into a day. so it is implied she does not need to pay for the subway every time.
Christin is right! there are also 7 day unlimited passes. if you didn't have either, it'd be $2.75 per ride.
whats her salary? did i miss it? also what does she do for work?
Just wondering what is your job? I would not be able to afford your style of living. Eating out a lot. Great video though. Thanks
Dianne roy she is a beauty editor at popsugar

Discipline. Nice video.
i try but i definitely have my days (or weeks) haha. thank you!
No shopping???? I need your skillzzz
it really varies depending on the week/day/season lol - i go through phases 🙃
11.70 for a bagel lunch is super cheap?
She got a passion fruit iced tea and a cookie with it as well. I think it was the price of all of that together :)
Please tip at least 20%. If you can't, then don't eat out as much.
trust me, i'm a very generous tipper when it comes to eating out. for drinks, i opt for the standard $1-2+ per drink.
She ordered a $15 drink and tipped $2 (which is 30%). I know some of the $2.50 is tax, but a 20% tip on a drink is only $1.50.
Hey Carrie! Are you vegetarian??
i am! can you tell? haha
Carrie Carrollo haha yeh! Me too tho
You use so much single-use plastic!! Please consider bringing around a re-usable mug at the least
I think this is very expressive week. I prefer to eat at home and take my own food with me to work or college. Food is very expressive when you don't cook it.
Fun fact. My friends niece Vanessa is co owner of health aide kombucha
YIKES!!!.I only spend $3/day for food..........I make everything
America is too expensive 😣
Love the video! But I live in NYC too and why is the subway fare not 2.75 tho??
