Watching Greg catch em on a yak is so much more realistic, relatable, n entertaining than watching someone fish on an expensive bass boat n dropping their baits right on top of fishes basically fishing in a barrel.
Thanks for the share, Greg. Berryessa is our home lake, so it was neat to watch this one. Too bad the Huddleston fish didn't stay on - we were cheering for you! Good luck on your future tournaments!
Another Great Video, Greg. It's times like this, when I can't get out fishing (36 degrees, with rain), that I really appreciate watching you and maybe learning something about 'Yak Fishin'...! Haha! About that Huddleston - I found that Big Bass try to eat large prey "Head-First", and you might've just pulled it out of it's mouth. Just a "Guess" on my part... You, my Friend, have the BEST Videos out there - Bar NONE... Keep up the GREAT Work, we really DO Appreciate it...
Excellent. Huddleston is that way; Six trips - One bite. But Usually it’s Kong. I liked the tourney. 1 V 1 is very interesting. Small informal tournaments nice as well. Lake all to yourselves........no people up in NorCal?? Here in SoCal it’s community bathtubs. Thanks Greg.
I had the same thing happen with a soft bait where the tail foul hook on the tail and I had a dd on but when the bait popped out it looked like yours did with the taihooked on the tail but i was fighting mine for at least 40 second so i think it never got hooked by the hook but the bait was probably jammed nin its crushers until it popped out. Netboy was too slow.
Have you ever tried the double fluke rig? I've hooked one fish and had another eat the other bait a few times. Might be able to get some of those fish that follow the catch up.
Great video Greg. I love the 1v1's. It looks like if you keep doing the 1v1's, you will have to start placing higher in the tourney's to pay for the 1v1's, hehe. Great job Grag. Keep them up. I am almost all caught up with your past vid's. I love them as it feels like I'm in the yak with ya.
Haha thanks @Absolute Dion! Dang, that's a lot of vids to catch up on but you'll be ale to see first hand how this channel and my fishing has evolved (basically me knowing nothing too knowing a little more now lol)
@@GregBlanchardFishing Yes i have. It's great to see the evolution of your fishing game. While your fishing has evolved big, your modesty seems to stay the same. I can appreciate that. Thanks again for taking me fishing with you when I'm working. Keep up the great videos
Geez dude. Your videos just get better and better. Come to the Midwest man. KC or Springfield area. Let us put you on some good lakes. This is an ALWAYS open invite. Nicely done Greg.
We need to see those 16 min vids with no fish tho! Thats real fishing shit right there. Waking up at 3 am to be on the water by 5. On the water for 6 hours with no bites. Hooking up with a bush and fighting it for 2 mins before realizing its a bush. Hell yeah.
Don’t add a stinger harness to the hud, you will end up killing the big ones that eat it deep. The right ones u want that eat it will get the whole jig hook so no reason in adding one
No thanks i’d like to guarantee my catch with a “trailer” hook. Especially if I am big bait fishing for a PB. Rarely has that happen. There has been times they swipe and sucked the back end only and the treble pins them.
Your Partner there is a filming Pro in my opinion, I met him personally at Lake Toho in Kissimmee Fla. he was collaborating with Professional Angler Scott Martin and also Brandon was there as well. Very cool Dude. Great video as usual G B!!!!
He recommends against using a bottom stinger, but suggests a top treble/stinger instead. Top is less likely to get the fishes gills like a bottom singer is and will typically get roof of mouth.
You almost had it man! Don’t get too down on that lost Hudd fish. Happens sometimes. Tail just got in the way of the hook. Jig hook will work. No need for a stinger but that Butch Brown rig might be a good option for you just because you’re on a kayak and it will help you keep it pinned while you’re netting it. You’re gonna get one soon. I guarantee it!
For sure we love the kayak, heck i fish only from a kayak.but i wonder if greg ever thinks about where he might reach out to that isnt feasible at 3mph.my fav vids are punchin& flippin on the delta
Kayaks will always be superior to me. Only kayaks can enter low and shallow waters where sometimes you find the biggens. I understand that with a bot you can cover tons of water but kayaks are just special.
ROB! Not just a genius behind the camera. He's one tough stick to beat. If you guys don't know who he is, watch his videos on the delta. He even has a video of catching a 10lber on a frog while standing on a dock in Florida. He's filmed with IF and Scott Martin. Good to see him on Greg's channel.
Hey greg, lots of people say a good huddleston setup would be a 5 or 6 gear ratio 400 size reel, 8 foot rod with a 3-10 oz, and 25 pound fluorocarbon. My first big trout soft bait fish was a 2 pounder and yes, small ones will try and eat these big baits. The setup I use is a really old 400 shimano calcutta (4.9 gear ratio) with 25 pound fluorocarbon, and a Okuma Guide Select XH (2-10 oz). Edit: My setup is a more affordable combo: got a calcutta off ebay for 100, and the rod is 120. Guys who take swimbaits seriously, will have combos over $1000
That was hilarious with that camera shot when the bass boat went flying by. Had to watch it a couple of times. Lol
Next time I’ll do donuts around him
lol seriously though
Hands down Greg has the best fishing content on here...Keep the vids coming Brotha...🎣🎣🎣
Would love to see you tackle some San Diego lakes next year.
he wouldn’t survive
@@bassmom2059 If he throws the dropshot, he'll still get 20 easily
@@dkim.2062 if he fishes for 24 hours straight and that only would work on a lake with a shit ton of stunted bass like Miramar
“Should we weigh him, nah” *As he throws my PB back... 😭😭😭
Amazing video as always Greg! Happy to support a good guy with excellent content! Tight lines!
Great vid
Such a stand-out dude; thanks for leaving the place cleaner than you found it!
Another awesome video! Thanks, man!

Great video. Friendly competitions are the best competitions.
Thanks for the share, Greg. Berryessa is our home lake, so it was neat to watch this one. Too bad the Huddleston fish didn't stay on - we were cheering for you! Good luck on your future tournaments!
Yo it’s Rob! Good to see him on the channel again! And miss seeing him on Scott martins channel too..
Greg that is awesome video ..what it your tackle set up it would be nice from beginning of the video so we know
Great video footage and editing on this one! One of your best, IMO.
Rob - He won't know its a school of Crappie, Greg - Nice school of Crappie. Rob, didn't you know Greg is a PKA "Professional Kayak Angler" lol
🤣
Always hyped for your videos!
A Greg Blanchard video!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼 fun 1v1!
Good job Guys, Berryessa can be hard at times. Cant wait for the second round!
Awesome video Greg love it! 👍👊
thanks John!
The hudd bite! so close! great vid as usual! 👍
Oh man nice 1v1 we need couple more of these!!Great outcome for both of ya..
Great video, fun to watch. Can't wait for the rematch and to see you catch one on that Huddleston.
Great video!🤙🏽
Awesome challenge! Sound was great due to low/no wind. I love hearing the line sing through the rod guides.
Is it me or is that a new spinning rod? Or have I just been watching too many of your older vids? 😂
Haha, you are correct, Ernie! Just a different setup with some lighter line but it's been great. ONe of my Maxims reel seat broke too lol
The way you huddleston was when you reeled it in I would say the fish sucked it in and the tail got in the way of the hook point when you swung on it.
Definitely like the idea of 1on1 matches. Great vid fellas!
Big difference on a big lake,,,, now you gotta hit the delta where that kayak has some advantages! Awesome video, one of my favs!
Huge thumbs up, we gotta see that rematch and some more 1v1's

Great job. I struggled yesterday in a bass boat and others as well did. I’m done till spring in Berryessa
seems like feast or famine there!
@@GregBlanchardFishing FULL MOON. NIGHT BEFORE.......Do you believe it affects the fish?????
Would love to see you fish SoCal lakes some time!
Love that high tech hook set on the A-Rig. Maybe we should call it a Rob Set. Or maybe a Surra Set (sure set)
SO close!!! Fun video!
You guys were pretty close, he had the advantage being in the boat! Nice challenge vid, Greg! Keep throwing the swimbait!

I love watching your videos. Frozen here in Illinois. Save your trolling battery, lift the pedals.
Beautiful lake and a fun day on the water. Definitely better than a day at the office. Thank you Sir’s!!! Lol
Interesting twist to the 1v1 challenge. Looks like both of you had a tough day out there but alas fish were caught. Good times.
Tight Lines!
What kinda kayak do you have? And have you ever took it out on Silverwood lake?
Great video! Fun to watch awesome little comp! 🤙
Best drone shot ever @0:28 😂 😂 😂
@00:30 LOL so dang funny...let's give him a head start...VROOM!!!!
Cool video dude!
Nice content Greg, you have an amazing kayak set up and great locations. Keep the videos coming and tight lines.
Hey Greg love the videos what's that multi colored spinning reel I have yet to see it or hear of it
Thanks man! It's an Abu garcia ike revo
Best fishing content on YT
I look forward to your videos man, especially here in the colder months when I cant get out i get my fishing through your videos 👌🙏
Good stuff Greg!
what is your spoon setup, i've been looking into one
I love and miss Berryessa. One the few lakes you can fish and hit for the cycle(lmb, smallies, spot and mules!) Gotta love it.
What's your rod and reel for spinning?
Excellent! Woulda LOVED to see what hit that HUD! I guess if we knew, you'd probably still OWN it!! 😂 Another great vid, Greg! Thanks!
Me too! probably a 2 pound bass haha
great video man
Have you ever tried the double fluke rig? I've hooked one fish and had another eat the other bait a few times. Might be able to get some of those fish that follow the catch up.
I think a looong time ago but it needs to come back into play!
love the new dropshot rod
Same!
What broken Spirit out there would actually down vote this video?
Someone wishing they could be fishing instead of sitting at home watching Greg fish.
it's the Grinch! You know...they say his tacklebox is two sizes too small.
They even vote dwn roland so who knows what kinda sickos are watchin us.no doubt some liberal environmental activist
The zodiac killer... If you don't get it look up zodiac killer lake berryessa and it will make sense
What lake is that looks cool
How do you like your Ike reel??? I just ordered one, so I'm hoping it will be a winner!
Nice school of crappie! I had to replay that a few times. Funny
haha! and TBH I was just messing with him back. little did I know it actually was LOL
I'd love to do a vs on the kelsey bass ranch!! Lol. Great videos bro!!
0:31 when you're like damn Greg is hauling a** and then here comes the bass boat 😂
Amazing shot
What # braid to flouro do you use for your dropshot set up?

15:30 Nice save. Hate when I'm not paying attention and the fish tries to take the rod

My favorite place to pull out 5 pounders thank for teaching me all of the best ways on how to fish

Well I only caught 3 5+ Lb in that lake

it's a 7' medium abu garcia fantasista

Love Rob just blasting buy after saying look at him go
The mega slam! Hit that twice there last week on an awesome spoon bite. Took some time to find the bait and found a mega school!
Has Greg caught one on the Huddleston? For such a big expensive lure I haven't seen one caught in his videos on it.
Great channel but I’ve been watching your videos all morning.
Your Partner there is a filming Pro in my opinion, I met him personally at Lake Toho in Kissimmee Fla. he was collaborating with Professional Angler Scott Martin and also Brandon was there as well. Very cool Dude. Great video as usual G B!!!!
Agreed, Rob does some crazy good work
Watch Tactical Bassin' swimbait vid. The stinger isn't a good idea for the fish. I don't throw swimbaits, just remember Matt saying that in the vid.
He recommends against using a bottom stinger, but suggests a top treble/stinger instead. Top is less likely to get the fishes gills like a bottom singer is and will typically get roof of mouth.
Greenhaven in the house!
Lol I was just at lake berryessa on Sunday, wasn’t a very good bite though
That was a sick collaboration 🤙
Thanks dude! Always a good collab when I can mooch some drone footage too lol
That’s too bad the Hudd fish came un pinned!!
If your having trouble with big swimbaits try throwing the storm glide bait it catches giants and it makes for good practice
Gotta get a Huddleston fish bro. Its a game changer. Thought you got it though. Almost!
What happened with the Deps?
Saw Rob when he film for Scott Martin..cool guy

How did those two jig bites feel?

Thanks Dan! Yep, Abu fantasista with an Ike Revo. I think it's better overall than my straidic/maxim combo. One of my maxims broke too
Thanks bud need a go to spinning
Adding a bass boat seems inevitable, considering your commitment to getting to the best places for bass fishn
that's a tough argument when he just caught the same limit in his kayak as the other guy did lol
I would bet ok with the occasional bass boat video but I wouldnt want them to take over.
For sure we love the kayak, heck i fish only from a kayak.but i wonder if greg ever thinks about where he might reach out to that isnt feasible at 3mph.my fav vids are punchin& flippin on the delta
A bass or bigger boat in the future is not off the table!
What happened to the white drop shot rod
I have 1 still but the other broke
