Just a quick update with Astro Tools 78318. I called the company they are out of stock. They will get some more either the end of November/December and you can pre-order thru Summitt. At this time, they are also coming out with a 1/2 inch version of this ratchet. Spoke to company on 08-20-2024.
I’ve had that 6-24 set along with the handle for a little over a year now and although I don’t use it every day there have definitely been some jobs that this combination worked perfect on. I have the icon/mountain wrenches as well as the full set of those Tone RMA wrenches also but that extra depth of the Astro has been the only thing that would fit fully over the fastener in certain situations. Definitely worth having!!
I should be getting my extra long wrench for my nano sockets next week. I'm excited. Although I think the ratchet wrenched will still shine when it comes to using them on nuts with an amount of bolt going through, more of a pass thru design with a traditional ratchet wrench. But I'm very excited none the less.
I waited a couple months for this ratchet thought it was gonna be the best thing around used 3 times and broke trying to loosen rusty caliper bolts not the bracket that actual caliper. I figured it would be more durable but nope now I hope I can find my receipt to warranty it. Nice tool just watch the torque you put on it. Don’t have near the strength as the mountian, Carlyle, icon wrenches.
@@jeremypeiffer6026 Maybe since it’s longer than those other brands of ratcheting wrenches, I guess it would be easier to overdo it on the torque. Thanks for the heads up, I will be careful when using it to not get too carried away with it. Take care, -Dan
A benefit of lifetime warranty is we're always working on improving. We've somewhat recently changed the pin bolt style and got a +25% torque increase, so those who do manage to break it will get the latest version forever.

Been a few comments on it here, but here's another vote for making a 1/2 version. You can only make the 3/8 version work as a pass through up to about 15/16mm.
I bought a few Titan pass thru sets about 22 years ago, still work great, the Cornwell sets are clones of that set, I have a few sets of the Craftsman Maxx Axxess which the GearWrench copied, all great sets, there are definitely times the pass thru design works out extremely well
Summit Racing has the Nano Ratchet. I just ordered it and the 14 pc metric Nano socket set. The ratchet was a little over $28 and the sockets were just under $36. The 19pc set was $63 and was at least a month out. For almost double the cost for 5 more sockets I decided I didn't need the 20MM-24MM sockets.
Just an observation, Summit Racing says you have to wait a long time for it to ship out. Today is 8/20, they will NOT ship out until September 16, Also the ratchet you describe is part # 783105 THAT IS only 10.5 inches long, the one in the video part # 78318 is 18 inches long, big difference. @@ASEmastermechanic I ordered the 18" ratchet. It is $28.79 on Summit with over 10 in stock. I don't know how you assumed I was talking about the 10.5" long ratchet .
Hello Dan the fix it man I just found your channel and subscribed. Some questions for you about the tool. You mention this comes in SAE. I am Aircraft Mechanic. I would need this in SAE and 12-point, is that available? The major portion of aircraft hardware is 12-point and I do have some 6-point hardware. At least the 27 different aircraft models I've been on. Thank you
I understood that Astro had discontinued the wrench production. A true tragedy Duratech makes one for $30 but I found my Astro on ebay at $50. Wish Astro would sell the sockets individually.
I don’t know what they’re talking about exclusive, Duratech owned by hangzhou great star (owns sk shop vac pony jorgensen) they sell nearly the same wrench
Look at that duratech tell me it’s not the same? Same palm swell same no Direction, switch, lever witches The first thing that wrench needs except strengthening the forks
I’m not trying to be a dick. I don’t think you have any intention of misinforming us. Just wanted you to know I purchased that same Duratek Ranch off Amazon and it was such garbage. No reverse on that ratchet, you'd be better off in a reversible with a socket rail popped in the back, no wear on that ring. I can't believe you have to pull the socket out to go in another direction
From what I’ve heard and seen, these aren’t very durable. The ratchet swivel head is the weak point. It’s almost like you need a regular ratchet and socket set up to break the fastener loose, then use this nano socket to finish the job? You’re already there remember 😂
