Table Rock Dam gates open-round 2

For the second time in less than 30 days all the gates at Table Rock Dam had to be opened at 1600 on May 23, 2011. 5 gates were opened earlier but that was not enough to handle the rate of lake level increase caused by more rain. This time each gate was only opened one foot. The water from the 10 gates coupled with the water from the generators is allowing 26,000 cubic feet of water per second to be released into Lake Taneycomo. Todays water release is far short of the 68,000 cubic feet per second that was being released the last of April.
