That part where the word "corn" first appears has to be one of the most unexpected words heard in a metal song since King Diamond dramatically screamed "Grandma!" Also, I like how the vocals get kinda bluesy at the end.
Them is still my favorite album to this day.
Can I also suggest "daffodil" in Nightwish's Elan as unexpected lyric?

80s Metal is some of the greatest that's irrefutable. And you clearly haven't heard much of it if you think there's no 80s inspiration in there. The chorus has a Dio Rainbow in The Dark sound to it. And the guitar solo is very reminiscent of the 80s. So you're wrong.
