Amanita, the Rammstein song "Haifisch" does mean shark, but it is not about sharks. It's a song Till wrote about the six men of Rammstein who have been friends for many years. It tells how they stick together through everything, no matter what anyone else says about them. The world may see them as shark on stage, but the world doesn't see the tears. Till writes about things that upset him as a way to work through them and help us also to deal with them. He's really a good man.

I was thinking the same thing. It has some lyrics that sound a lot like Rammstein's Ohne dich.
There are a lot of English songs called Without You as well, and tbh their translation into German would sound a lot like this as well. You miss someone, there aren't many ways about it.

This is one of my favorite songs.
The three german bands I listen to have all done a song called ohne dich, Oomph has, rammstein has, and of course eisbrecher has, but I'm not sure which one I like more.... haha all three are great bands, they're my hero's ^^

This song honestly puts me in tears :/ I'm still with my girlfriend, but it feels like we're not together. She never wants to see me, she never wants to call me, and she hardly ever texts me. I gave up a lot just to be with her, and now I'm giving up my happiness just to be with her. I know that feeling.. my actually gf can't give me the love what I give her. Our problem: we live in different towns of course it is hard then. But I don't want to put that to an end, because in the past she was able to show me love and was warming up my heart of ice I had..

When a band has been in existence for about 18 years, they would have sung about anything and everything under the moon. Rammstein's relentless pursuit for excitement, freshness and boundary-pushing has led them to tackle songs with controversial topics, something line-toeing bands out there never dare.
True fans are able to see the underlying beauty and depth in ALL of Rammstein's songs. We love R+ for being able to take on any topic and OWNING it.

@Javiersthebest Das stimmt! And most American rock bands sound really similar, too.
Rammstein actually has some pretty thought provoking lyrics and wordplay. Which is a common theme among a lot of German bands. z.B. Wir sind Helden also has songs that contain a great deal of puns and wordplay.
As for R+ though, two of their most popular songs (Du hast and Amerika) both deal with wordplay (You have vs You hate for Du hast) and Globalization (in Amerika).
Taking R+ at face value, or any culture for that matter, isn't the path to understanding and appreciation.
I can relate to this song very much...
The only thing that bugs me in this are a couple of typos in the translations, but otherwise this is good
@X9SamFisher yeah sometimes you have to transliterate and translate the German slightly to fit the "theme" of the song while not losing the essential meaning of the word.

Thing is though the Rammstein one has two different versions, one's harder, the other is softer. Unfortunately I can only find one "Black" edition of Ohne Dich on RUclips and that's a cover

Well its just music. I like knowing what they're saying but I don't let it get to me. I love Hilf Mir and Mein Teil and they're about self-immolation and cannibalism. Why not like them. Anyway, it's your choice enjoy and listen what you like. Thanks for the feed back! :)

@RammsteinLover123 Rammstein made a song called "Ohne Dich" it's a much slower, sadder ballad than Eisbrecher's. This is more uplifting.

Actually that's not quite true the songs:
Ohne Dich by Rammstein came on their 2003-4 album, Reise, Reise
Ohne Dich by Eisbrecher came out on the 2006 album Antikörper
They are different songs. (And Ohne Dich by Rammstein has somewhat of a darker tone and meaning)
And the bands:
Rammstein has been around since 1989
Eisbrecher since 2003 (but the lead singer and guitarist of Eisbrecher were on Megaherz from 1993 to 2003)
Both are great songs, from great bands Both worth checking out
