I love the new tool changer! Was a pleasant surprise when the machine showed up and it had the 30 pocket tool changer.
A nice upgrade for sure. If only I had waited till this year to buy that new VF...ah well, look forward to it on the next one perhaps.

My new VF-2SS arrived today with this 30 pocket tool changer, looks awesome!!!
Me: Manager can you install a new SMTC-30 on my VS 3
Manager: But we have a SMTC 30 in your machine.
The SMTC30 would be like:
Does the servo driven SMTC, turn the motor off and apply a brake once it has found a pocket, or does it stay on and apply a consisant count numbers to hold position?
Older Super mini mills have this! Why do the new SM's have an umbrella style TC?
My new radial smtc has a bad buzz when it is stopped. Its not in the double arm but somewhere in the center. The bad noise stops when I push on the tool pocket. Driving me nuts
Will the 40 pocket changer eventually get these updates as well?
When will the 50 taper changers get the speed boost?
Will this be a standard thing on all VF and VM models?
jtjoser Yes, this is taking the place of the 24-station side-mount. It is on many models now, we are phasing in so that it will be standard on all 40-taper VF and VM models
I thought the umbrella type tool changer was standard on all VF machines?
well you catching others lol. why is faster tool change from 24 to 30. tool is picked ready before next change. is it 0.1second faster than other lol. hugeee time safe. it not safe any time. if there is noone change new part. 0.1 not any difrent
Be nice if it was retro at a decent price
Lousy audio- the narrators voice plus the overloud music makes it hard to understand.
What a waste of client's money - why not just use a belt and pulley except super-large gear?! Same ratio, same accuracy, but much cheaper and easier to make. Absurd...
