This reminded me of 2 Droopy cartoons where the wolf tried to avoid getting arrested but Droopy was always there waiting for him no matter how fast or far he went. Mumbly was also like this in every episode of his.
I was expecting Pierre to eventually turn himself in when he has had enough of Jeckle and Heckle. I've seen some cartoons before where the antagonist eventually does that after being bested by the protagonists that they just have enough and turn themselves in.
Although it somewhat shamelessly recycled Tex Avery's 1946 masterpiece Northwest Hounded Police starring Droopy, this was fun anyway. One kind of wishes someone like Avery had had a run on H&J.

Dayton Allen provided all voices (he used his "Bogie" impression for Jeckle in this one). As usual, great loose animation by Jim Tyer.
He does a great Eddie G. Robinson in another episode. Only for a brief moment, though. Forget which one. I always thought Jeckle was the British one.
