- Born in Germany to Slovak parents, 13-year old Patricia Janečková performs Ennio Morricone's heavenly melody "Once Upon A Time In The West" during the Miss Reneta student beauty pageant in Havirov, Czech Republic on March 30, 2012. She died on October 1st in 2023.
Take a look at the contestants in the background who are perhaps not only mesmerized by the amazing performance of the beautiful young singer but some of them appear to be envious in the face of such talent and beauty combined. They have a flower in their hands while Patricia is the blossom that will become a non-withering flower for many decades to come.

At the time of writing (2016), Patricia is still only 17/18 and has become a singing sensation and a Slovak national icon. Born in Germany in 1998 she successfully made the difficult step from a Czecho-Slovak TV talent show (Talentmania) in 2010 to a promising international career. As opposed to other vocal phenomena like wunderkind Jackie Evancho from Pennsylvania, she has considerably developed her voice and vocal technique and is now an accomplished, acclaimed and much sought-after operatic soprano enchanting audiences around the world and flabbergasting critics and peers alike.

In December 2010, thanks to a record-breaking number of votes, she became an absolute Winner of a Czecho-Slovakian talent show Talentmania, in which she gained favor and appreciation in Slovakia and in the Czech Republic. An exceptionally gifted 13-year-old opera singer PATRICIA JANEČKOVÁ (1998) has been singing since the age of four and she is an exceptional appearance on the current musical scene. The professional public exalts her enormous musical maturity, pure intonation and cultivated voice above all.
Of all the musical genres she was particularly fascinated by opera since her early childhood. She experienced her first contacts with the opera stage as a member of Antonín Dvořák Theatre’s Opera Studio in Ostrava. At the age of 10 she won a casting of Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra Ostrava and she got her first chance to sing with a symphonic orchestra.
In December 2010, she became an absolute winner of Talentmania. During the following year the debut CD album recording in cooperation with a musical composer, conductor and producer Oskar Rózsa and also her first all-evening recital with a big orchestra within the Viva Musica! festival took place. At present she is attending private singing lessons with popular Czech opera singer and pedagogue Eva Dřízgová-Jirušová. She is going to study opera singing abroad after she finishes elementary school.

One of my favorite young singer. Not are so many, to have this ability to play the voice as an orchestra. And she was amazing, voice and face. It is very sad he went away so soon. I cried when I read of her ill and death. And I'm crying now, listening this voice and seeing this face. She is in glory, now and ever. Tank you Patricia, you made my life better.

I have just this second realised this beautiful young lady has passed away. I feel so sad. Its New Years day 2024 00:39. This was in my opinion the most beautiful voice ever recorded. I'm shocked and sad to hear the news. I have listened to this song so many times and decided to bring the New year in to her incredible voice. Such a loss for humanity. Very few people have an effect on me. This young lady did. RIP.
I didn't learn of Maestra Janeckova's passing until earlier this year. Commercial TV networks in my country(the United States of America) generally tend to avoid reporting the deaths of opera singers. Thank the Lord that Patricia's rich, soaring voice has been preserved for posterity.
So many of us feel this way. I have lost count of the people who have said, “i have never before wept over the death of someone I never met”. When I first read the terrible news, I also wept, and immediately went to check elsewhere in the faint hope it was just a false rumour. It wasn’t. She was supposed to have overcome the cancer, but of course there is always a risk that it survives and eventually returns with fresh malice. What an astonishing young woman she was.

Patricia, it was through the video of this contest that you won that I discovered you. I was amazed by your effortless singing, your voice flowed like a fresh spring in spring. Those moments were fabulously beautiful. I cried with emotion. Since that day for each of your interpretations the same emotion hugs me, the same tears come. So when I read on RUclips in October 2023 In Memory of Patricia Janeckova I understood that a misfortune had happened.

It's interesting. Hearing Janeckova sing this as a 13 year old. And then like 5 years later in this pageant. Her voice filled out. It's like pretty awesome. That's when you realize she was 13 and she knew she wasn't THAT good. Well. Anyone with ears could hear her talent. I'm assuming she put in a LOT of hard work to improve so much. People, who like her voice, should listen to the two clips.

I will never forget her and this performance that stunned me and rendered me speechless so many years ago. This song is extremely emotional for me and every so often I come back here to listen to then 14 year old Patricia and it stirs up emotions in me every time. This will not be my last time here listening to this angelic voice.
