      I feel like sometimes the fnaf lore tragedy side of things gets overshadowed my the creepy/horror/sci-fi/cute/dumb aspect of things. It's an aspect that has been rarely covered, there is so much potential waiting to be discovered. I am happy that VHS tapes are heading towards that direction

      @@ico-theredstonesurgeon4380 I totally agree. That's why I think more tapes like these where they're not really that scary but just focused on the emotional side of the FNaF story and the characters in it. To be fair, the games tend to not speak about the repercussions of the MCI either except on how it ruined Freddy's reputation.
      The story "Coming Home" in the Fazbear's Frights book series actually does feature said focus in its pages.

    • @fluffyboi4411
      @fluffyboi4411 11 месяцев назад +3

      @@Takejiro24 Yeah that was in my opinion one of the best FF stories in the whole series, maybe not particularly scary but it was pretty sad and actually had a connection to the games which is more than can be said for *some* stories like the Puppet Carver(not a particularly bad story but it has literally nothing to do with Freddy's besides the Pigpatch cameo and Faz-goo)

  • @pedorbladskiy
    @pedorbladskiy Год назад +187

    Love that more people are starting to pay more attention to an aspect that even Scott missed in games. This is the horror of children death. It's not only terrible that we hear or see the suffering of people who experience loss. This adds more horror to Afton's character, because it is very contradictory that a man with a family could kill children so coldly and cruelly. You start to think how scary Afton is for being able to do something like that without any second thoughts

    • @identitymatrix
      @identitymatrix Год назад

      Afton is pure evil. The thing about these kinds of antagonists in stories is that they are very well real. There are people out there like this. Evil like you've never seen before. Not even sick in their head, just evil.
      That's why I find serial killer stories inherently scary because they're depicting something that's totally real and happening every single day.

    • @BlueSunStudios1
      @BlueSunStudios1 11 месяцев назад +9

      Movie Afton is even more of scumbag who'd go after adults. The literal moment that he knew Michael Schmidt was Garret Schmidt's older brother, nevermind the fact that Mike was a fully grown adult, he plotted to have this man killed next and likely was responsible for Mike's predecessor dying too (and that guy looked like a much older man, perhaps middle aged too). The man will tear entire families apart for some sick game and shows that he has no limit as to who he'll go after next. And this is also a man who, in the games, killed his best friend's only child which caused that man no shortage of suicidal depression which Afton did not care for and likely did not care all that much that his own daughter was killed by one of his animatronics (his movie version directly tried to kill his only child) and more or less led his own son to his death too. Michael Afton is the textbook definition of evil, and it is horrible to see the damage he leaves in his wake, sucking life and happiness out of everyone who tangentially comes into contact with him like a curse or plague.

    • @complex2live
      @complex2live 11 месяцев назад +1

      @BlueSunStudios1 ever since Help Wanted confirmed the main games weren't real bu the events were, it actually is debatable if William did have a family. Most likely they all died and that is what motivated him to go insane and kill children. After all, he suffered loss, some other family should have. If that was his motivation, that helps show how William is just plain evil and even if in this context of the movie, he probably adopted Vanessa. Showing that he either did adopt her or maybe kidnap her

    This tape has such a unique vibe that is so much more different than any other "fnaf VHS tape". It's not "fnaf vhs tape" horror. It is sadness/hopeless, dread and despair, in a way where the audience relates with the mourning of this sister for her little brother. It's depressive horror.
    We rarely see how the parents and family felt after the missing kids, only henry and william with his two kids but this shows a random sibling mourning the death of her brother. It's too real, horrifyingly real.

    At its core, this is what truly makes FNAF’s story so horrific. No matter what Afton’s motives were, no matter if he did it for science, to seek immortality, to spite someone else, or simply because he took some sick pleasure in it (as the movie seems to imply was the case); he destroyed so many lives, and that doesn’t just include the ones he killed.

    This VHS tape has to be what FNaF would realistically feel like. The mother’s voice aching in pain is disturbing enough to make the whole atmosphere be so chilling. And all of those aftermath images really puts the icing on the cake. Its all fitting together perfectly. If this would be used for a FNaF movie (this what I think the actual movie would have been), that would not only be a Cinematic masterpiece, but a monumental moment of the FNaF series as a whole.

    I feel like FNaF is an example of that Stalin quote “One death is a tragedy, a million deaths is a statistic.” So many children were killed by Afton throughout the books and games that it’s kind of just something talked about as part of the larger story. We’ve become desensitized to the fact that whenever children were killed at Freddy’s locations, those children had families and friends who all cared for them, and the nature of such an incident would be the most unthinkable of tragedies. Someone so young missing and presumed dead on what was supposed to be their special day, with no one ever knowing what truly happened to them. It wouldn’t just destroy families, but send shock waves through entire communities. Super tragic.

    The whole thing was amazing, but to be honest,my favorite part was seeing Bonnie on camera. You conveyed the confusion, the fear, and the need to escape.. We don't see enough of that realization in most VHS FNAF videos, though most ARE amazing in one way or another. Seeing them behave, at least in some ways, enough to be noticeable, as the kids they are/used to be, rather than just 'murder-bots' is so much more fun. LOVE IT!❤

    Oh my god that was heartwrenching. Like, the mother's voice acting was already so good, bubblepop did a fantastic job, but the thing that seriously got me was Bonnie realizing that something was wrong and trying to escape from the confines of the animatronic. That was absolutely chilling and it really puts into perspective the torment these kids feel trapped inside. Yet another great tape Valox, bravo!

    It upsets me that FNAF has been overshadowed by a lot of things that make it no longer what it was meant to be. I was one of those who thought it was worth nothing anymore... until I came back and saw the fan made projects, the music, and back to the lore and remember that this was incredibly heart breaking.

I was more so talking about the fandom... and you and I both know how our franchises tend to be perceived when the FANDOM steals the show.
      So, BIG FAN... are we still convinced that I have a bitter disdain for a man doing his spin-offs? Because I will tell you one thing, I DON'T... so you'd do well to mind your temper, you rude little "spokesperson".

    One thing I don't think a lot of people picked up on were Bonnies mouth movements literally mouthing:
    "help"
    "help me"
    If you think about someone yelling for help, and the length of what they're saying, it lines up perfectly with how long Bonnies mouth opened the first time, and then a followed up, quicker "help me" matching Bonnies movements perfectly again.
    Though it could have been him opening and closing his mouth to test the jaw, I'm going to hold onto my opinion. Maybe it's not as small a detail as I thought but it however major or minor, it added so much to the storyline.

    I say this all the time, FNAF as a whole isn't just scary, its also heartbreaking once you dive deep into the lore because you know that there were countless amounts of innocent kids taken away from their families because of a sick demented man. I feel like there should be a tape where a parent/sibling of one of the children would try to make peace with the one they lost by playing music in the restaurant, as a way to get some sort of sign from them, then one of the animatronics would inadvertantly scare them to the point of running out of the place, leaving the tape player/boombox still playing the music, as the animatronic takes the item with them as a sign of something it once lost.
    I feel like that concept would work with something like Foxy and the music playing would be something pirate/sea shanty related, like "Yo-Ho A Pirate's Life" or "Whale of a Tale", to symbolize the kid was a pirate fan at one point before being murdered.
    Just something to consider.
