    My favorite bit is that you don't pressure people into making a certain choice, you provide us with the information and let us decide what to do with it.

      You've absolutely made my entire weekend with your kind comment, K-Lynn! 😊 Thank you so much for acknowledging this notion - it's my mission after all! We may all use the same product but have very different reactions due to us being unique from each other in each and every way so my goal is to be as impartial as possible so it won't affect your decisions! I hope you find my other videos helpful as well! More to come! 😝 🙌

    They have removed many hazardous ingredients now from the product. I got it in sale
    in marshalls few days ago and I see theres no parabens. Actually kinna influenced my friend to use this and when i saw this review my heart dropped. I then matched all the ingredients memtioned here and cross checked. They still have peg-120 methyl glucose dioleate, polysorbate 20, fd & c yellow no.5

    The ingredients are way down the list so there is hardly any in the cleanser, plus it’s a cleanser so it’s not like it’s staying in your face.

    I purchased and received a kit from Philosophy not too long ago. I received the cleanser, the exfoliator wash, lip treatments and day and night crème. I was going to use this strictly for 30 days and leave everything else alone. I noticed after about 2 weeks I started getting break outs, and I don't get them at 57 or really ever!!! I thought maybe I needed to use a toner after use, but this is suppose to have a toner in it. I did switch to Cera'Ve and break outs went away. I guess I should cancel my auto delivery???

      I wish I can like your comment more than once, Michelle! THANK YOU for bringing up this wonderful piece of information. Our skin should be at a harmonious pH balance of 5.5 so it is truly ironic that this product is called "purity". I'm completely put off by all the PEGs and formaldehyde-releasers in this product as well. If you have any suggestions on a safer cleanser to use, I'd truly appreciate it if you could let me know! I'm currently buying and testing out natural alternatives that perform just as good, if not better, as the mainstream products in hopes to help people out there and would love if you'll consider joining our community and stay tuned for more analysis videos. I truly feel that our like-minded fellow health conscious friends here and I have a lot to learn from you! Thanks again for sharing your thoughts, Michelle!

      Howdy hey again, frharhm! (And HI to Michelle too since she started this awesome thread 😀) I'm ecstatic to hear that my humble video helped you out and saved you some money too! As mentioned briefly in response to your other comment, I purchase all products on my own and only make videos of items that I’ve used for at least a couple of months when it comes to skin care products (and at least a few weeks in different weather and occasions with makeup) to ensure I put out the most accurate, complete and honest opinion of it in hopes to help you friends out! Hi ! I am currenly using Arbonne and like so many others, want to try something different due to it's price. But really, I don't care if I am spending the same, as long as I know it's safe and healthy for me. I was about to try the Philosophy line but perhaps not the best choice after watching your videos. Can you recommend an effective, safe anti-aging line? I would also like to try a peel at home. I am 40 and am looking for a long term product I can count on for years to come! Thank you Aria!

    • @WhatsInItBeauty
      @WhatsInItBeauty  8 лет назад

      Hi Mel! It’s my first time hearing about the brand Arbonne so thank you so much for mentioning it! I wholeheartedly agree with your sentiment about spending a little extra if necessary on products only if they’re safe and healthier to use. That’s why I’ve recently created a new segment called “One Two Beauty Review” where I analyze more natural beauty products so in case you're interested in a toxin-free, organic face cleanser, please check out my latest Dr. Bronner's video here (ruclips.net/video/GEdg1frTg-A/видео.html)! This versatile soap is just as effective in removing makeup like Philosophy’s Purity with much safer ingredients but please note that the pH levels are still fairly high at 9 so I highly suggest using a toner and moisturizer to balance your skin after washings. Not only is it difficult to find safer and healthier products (these companies usually never advertise), it’s also a challenge to find something effective with a function (such as makeup removal) along with a sound pH balance for anti-aging reasons - but believe me when I say that my mission is to discover them along with friends like you so we can discuss and learn more about them together so we can decide for ourselves whether or not it’s right for us. I’m a new channel and I purchase all products on my own and only make videos of items that I’ve used for at least a couple of months when it comes to skin care products (and at least a few weeks in different weather and occasions with makeup) to ensure I put out the most accurate, complete and honest opinion of it in hopes to help you friends out so I hope you’ll stay tuned! If you haven’t already, please subscribe to be part of this health conscious community so you won't miss future analysis videos! Be well and hope you drop by again soon, Mel! 😊

    if they have so much toxic inside the ingredients, why still they can sell it?

    • @WhatsInItBeauty
      @WhatsInItBeauty  8 лет назад

      That’s a great question, Sharon! Cosmetic ingredients do not require FDA premarket approval by law, with the exception of color additives, and a manufacturer generally may use any ingredient in the formulation of their products if the ingredients are safe under customary conditions of use and properly labeled. But the real problem arises from when we use multiple items daily and these toxins start to slowly accumulate inside our bodies. This may also come in the foods we eat, hence why some people prefer eating organic instead to avoid harmful pesticides, to when we expose ourselves to chemicals when cleaning our bathtub. That’s why I created this channel because makeup and skin/body care products are usually in contact on our skin every single day for hours on end, and our skin is the largest organ we all have. I want to help friends like you out, if you choose to, learn more about what you’re using daily so you can make choices right for you in order to reduce your daily to lifetime body burden of these harmful chemicals. I also recently created a new segment where I ONLY review safer, low-hazard, more natural skin and body care products so here's the link to an organic, toxin-free face cleanser that I've replaced Purity with in case you’re interested: ruclips.net/video/GEdg1frTg-A/видео.html I hope my humble thoughts helped answer your question, Sharon, and if you haven't already, please join our health conscious community so you won't miss future analysis videos. Thanks for this informative channel! I have some questions regarding this review as you didn't mention the dose of the potentially hazardous ingredients. Would they necessarily post a risk when added at such a low percentage? Paula's choice's team has made a video discussing paraben in skincare products and how it's a highly effective preservative even at an extremely low percentage that won't cause health concerns. Also, what are the statistics of the impurities you mentioned, like 1,4-dioxane? How much of them actually exist in the product? What is the rate of formaldehyde release from urea? In other words, if the product is used up within a reasonable time, would that still be a problem?

    • @WhatsInItBeauty
      @WhatsInItBeauty  7 лет назад +3

      Thanks for your kind words and great questions, Amanda! 😊 Beauty and personal care companies usually have confidential proprietary formulations of their products so it's basically impossible to know the exact amount of each ingredient used. Since each product have their own unique formulations, I strive to analyze and review each one of them as concisely as I can, focusing on the toxic ingredients and mindful to mention what their role in the product may be e.g., emulsifier, buffering agent, preservative, etc. I’m in the US and it’s also unfortunate that cosmetic ingredients do not require FDA premarket approval by law, with the exception of color additives, and a manufacturer generally may use ANY ingredient in the formulation of their products if the ingredients are safe under customary conditions of use and properly labeled. Even though these chemicals may be of small amounts in one product, the problem stems from when we use multiple products daily that may also have hazardous toxins. From lipsticks to foundation, to shampoos and toothpaste, (as well as in some of the foods we eat), we all use many personal care products daily and our bodies may accumulate these chemicals day by day, month by month, year by year. We also all have different body burden thresholds so we won't know when potential diseases may manifest - which is why I believe there are so many diseases that many of us fight or deal with as we grow older. Like you, I truly wished the FDA would require cosmetic companies to disclose their ingredient formulation percentages on their products before they're allowed onto the market but since this is not mandated, I personally try to avoid using some altogether because that’s the only way I can control it. Make-up and personal care products are left on our skin (sometimes on broken skin), which is our largest body organ, for long hours at a time and is also close to our body orifices (eyes, lips, ears, nose). I created this channel after my mom survived cancer last year (she was the first in her healthy family lineage to have the disease) and now prefer to avoid all chemical preservatives and ingredients that may contain carcinogenic impurities for her peace of mind. Through my videos, she’s now learned a list of chemicals she knows by heart to avoid when she goes out shopping and I really wanted to also help and connect with like-minded friends like you out too! 😊 I also recently created a new segment where I ONLY review safer, low-hazard, more natural skin and body care products so here's the link to an organic, toxin-free face cleanser in case you’re interested: ruclips.net/video/GEdg1frTg-A/видео.html There are definitely more videos to come so if you haven't already, please join our community so you won't miss future analysis videos. Wow, thank you so much for your detailed response! Even though portion does matter but like you said, toxins will accumulate with time. I had such high hopes for philosophy before, but I guess I'll only use Purity intermittently and more as a brush cleanser from now on. It might not be as big a problem with cleansers that will be rinsed off, but it does raise more concerns for products that stay on the skin. Could you recommend some low-hazard, more natural moisturizer and foundation/BB cream? Also, I actually just bought the Dr. Bronner's Sugar Soap you recommended and can't wait to try it out. I didn't like their Castile soap because it felt harsh and drying. Hopefully this one will surprise me. I've recently become more and more health cautious with the beauty products and processed food I use. It's so hard to find truly natural and safe products nowadays. I'm so glad to have found this community :D
      I hope the best for your mom too!

    • @WhatsInItBeauty
      @WhatsInItBeauty  7 лет назад +2

      It's my pleasure, Amanda, and thank you for your kind wishes to my dear mom! I'm always yearning to connect with health conscious friends and I'm so happy to have you here with us! 😊 I also use Dr. Bronner's Castile soaps not on my face - but as a natural and all-purpose cleaner, from mopping my floors to doing the dishes and laundry, and it's absolutely lovely! They're known to have 18 uses after all! I completely second your sentiments on how difficult it is to find safer products out there - and it gets even more challenging when pH balance comes to play! For example, Dr. Bronner products may have safer and more natural ingredients but because their pH balance is a wee bit high around 9 (on a scale of 1-14 with 1 being acidic, 14 alkaline, and 7 as neutral) - that means that while it should not irritate the skin too much, people with sensitive skin may experience dryness, since our skin's natural balance is around 5.5 pH. Their 4-in-1 sugar soaps has more nourishing agents like shikakai and white grape juice and I personally have no problem with it because I always use toner and moisturize immediately afterwards so I hope my humble suggestion helps you combat any dryness by rebalancing the skin. Since the cons are workable, I feel that the pros definitely outweigh them as it gently and effectively melts all of my makeup, lathers up wonderfully without any chemical detergents, contains no harmful ingredients, and has so many natural scents to choose from. We may all use the same product but react very differently so please feel free to let me know your thoughts once you’ve tried it! I’m currently testing out a Japanese cleanser that is pH balanced but is not entirely natural in ingredients, as well as natural moisturizers so please stay tuned! Thanks for suggesting natural bb creams and foundations - that is definitely a category I’m actively hunting for and it will pose to be a challenge! I purchase all products on my own and only make videos on items that I’ve used for at least a couple of months when it comes to skin care products (and at least a few weeks in different weather and occasions with makeup) to ensure I put out the most accurate, complete and honest opinion of it in hopes to help you friends out so I’m looking forward to sharing them with you once they’re ready. 😊 Wishing you lots of fun memories with your friends and family this festive season, Amanda! Happy Holidays! 💕

      Hi Michelle! Please keep in mind that we may all use the same product and have very different reactions to it so I hope this info will help you to decide what is right for you! As for your question about Hope In a Jar, from a quick scan of the ingredients list online, there are definitely a few potentially high hazard chemical preservatives (including 2 from the paraben family) as well as Diazolidinyl urea - a formaldehyde releaser. I sincerely hope this info gives you some perspective to help you decide what is right for you and if you haven't already, please join our health conscious community so you won't miss future analysis videos 😊 Be well and drop by again soon, Cynthia!

      Hi VladyblueGC! If you're looking for a cleanser that effectively melts makeup, lathers up wonderfully without any chemical detergents, and contains no harmful ingredients, I suggest Dr. Bronner's 4-in-1 organic sugar soaps. Here's my analysis and review on it here! ruclips.net/video/GEdg1frTg-A/видео.html After washings, I always use toner and moisturize immediately afterwards to rebalance the skin. We may all use the same product but react very differently so please feel free to let me know your thoughts if you decide to try it. I’m actively testing out more natural cleansers so if you haven't already, please join our health conscious community here for more skin care analysis videos. Hope this helps and please drop by again soon! 😄

      VladyblueGC No. This cleanser has a huge cult following. It doesn’t sit on your skin. It’s a cleanser. I use it once in a while and I love the makeup wipes. I actually wrote them about the parable a. They were so nice and helpful. The purity cleanser in the tube is free of parabens. When I asked them why they didn’t remove them from this cleanser they told me it was because of the huge users of this product. They don’t want to mess with a good thing and this cleanser is great. But if you don’t want to use it. It also is a great make up brush cleaner

    Hi thank you for this video, I was hesistant to buy this. Would you be able to cover their renewed hope in a jar moisturizer? And also any of the Fresh products, especially their Soy cleanser? Thank you!

      Howdy hey, Aizhan! Thanks so much for letting me know that my humble video has helped you - that's my mission afterall! I haven’t got the chance to try out the revamped version of Hope in the Jar, Fresh and Soy products you've mentioned yet but I truly appreciate your suggestions as I may in the future! I purchase all products on my own and when it comes to skin care products, I only make videos of items that I’ve used for at least a couple of months since the skin requires time to fully adapt to a new product and results shown then are truer. This ensures that I put out the most accurate, complete and honest opinion of it in hopes to help you friends out so please stay tuned for more videos to come! Be well and please stop by again soon 😊

      I'm so happy to hear that my humble video has helped you, casseawins! That is my mission after all! I've used Purity for a long while until I finally paid attention to what's actually in it, and was shocked to the core to discover that their ingredients list is everything opposite of the word "Purity!" Please check out an organic sugar soap that I've personally replaced Purity with here in case you are interested: ruclips.net/video/GEdg1frTg-A/видео.html It's a segment I call "One Two Beauty Review" where we analyze products with low to no chemicals in them so hope it helps you further! thanks a lot for this video. I am currently using this cleanser in my skin care routine and i will be more carefull in being using them on my lips and around my eyes.
    l am currently using the Origins high potency night-A-Mins cream as my night time moisturiser and want your help in knowing its inside ingredients. looking forward from hearing from u.
    thank u

      @WhatsInItBeauty  8 лет назад

      Thank you so much for letting me know that my humble video helped you, Jacoba! Regarding your question, I myself haven’t experienced the Night-A-Mins cream you’ve mentioned yet but from a quick glance of the ingredients list on the Origins site, there are definitely a few agents that carry possible carcinogenic impurities (PEG-100 Stearate, Polysorbate 40, and Tocopheryl Acetate) and a chemical preservative, Phenoxyethanol. Hopefully this information helps you decide whether or not to continue using it -- and similar to Purity, I would personally avoid applying on broken skin or too close to the mouth and eyes. 😊 I recently created a new segment called “One Two Beauty Review” where I review and analyze more natural beauty products so here's a toxin-free, organic face cleanser that is just as effective as Purity here in case you’re interested! (my Dr. Bronner 4-in-1 pump soap video) ruclips.net/video/GEdg1frTg-A/видео.html I'm also actively hunting and testing out more products so if you haven't already, please join our health conscious community so you won't miss future analysis videos. • @WhatsInItBeauty
      @WhatsInItBeauty  8 лет назад

      Hello there, frharhm! 😄 I haven’t used this Fresh cleanser yet but please stay tuned as I may try them in the future! I purchase all products on my own and only make videos of items that I’ve used for at least a couple of months - since I've found that a new product may seem great for the 1st week (like when using a sample) but since your skin is still adapting, results seen after 2-3 months are truer. At a quick glimpse of what I can find online about the Fresh Soy Face cleanser, right off the bat I notice a plethora of PEGs (short for Polyethylene Glycol) and at least a couple of potentially harmful preservatives so it's definitely not all natural - but since I haven’t used it before, I cannot comment on its performance. Thanks a bunch for your suggestion to add this to my list of products to consider! Hope this extra info helps you out a bit for the time being and hope you'll subscribe so you won't miss any future analysis videos! Be well! 😊

      Hi Corinna! I completely understand how you're feeling since I used to stock up on many Philosophy products back in the day when I was younger - especially during their 30% off sales on their website! While I was bummed to discover that there were so many questionable ingredients in them, I was also happy that I'm finally aware of it so I can decide to stop using it for the sake of my health. I recently created a new segment where I ONLY review safer, low-hazard, more natural skin and body care products so here's the link for your convenience in case you are interested: ruclips.net/video/GEdg1frTg-A/видео.html There are definitely more videos to come so if you haven't already, please join our community so you won't miss future analysis videos.
