He’s a pharmacist. At one point he had his license revoked for stealing drugs and supplies from Corcoran State Prison pharmacy. You can find the disciplinary papers online.

Great info. In a future video, could you explain what might be the downsides of a male taking oestrogen to transition/exhibit as a female.

Thanks Layne. Love watching your Instagram reels, seeing your recs on your website, and excited for your podcast series.
I’m a little confused on what I’m hearing about protein intake. Of course, all exercise & health related sources are saying to eat at least 0.8-1 grams of protein/lb body weight, but all longevity nutrition books I’ve read say we just need 0.3 grams/lb body weight. I understand consuming that little protein makes it improbable to add/maintain muscle, but how do you balance the two trains of thought? Do the muscle-building benefits outweigh the cost of accelerating cell death?

I think it's a little irresponsible to talk about protein requirements outside the context of age and personal goals. It's pretty well documented that a 50-60 year old man will lose muscle mass at an intake of only 0.3g/lb because his protein synthesis is less sensitive to the androgenic hormone contribution. Even a younger person trying to build muscle will find that intake too low. I think that intake level is low in light of more recent research by Don Layman and others. And I think the concern about acceleration of cell death stems from the fear that increasing mTor increases aging. There is evidence that shows that, but it's a matter of chronic elevation of mTor in tissues other than muscle that is the problem. Intermittent spiking of mTor in muscle tissue as part of protein synthesis is a different matter.
