Dude at 3:00.. when you suddenly shut your car off and turn it back on, the gas that was in your cylinders hasn't been used up yet... Essentially what you've done is flood the engine (slightly), so yea.. it'll take a bit longer for it to turn over. This will happen in any gas vehicle if you suddenly turn it off and then back on immediately.. Just sayin.
That's not even the point. The way a USB killer works is by discharging a bunch of capacitors when pluged in. That USB in his glove box thingy is obviously not connected to the engine, and even if it somehow was, ~200V is deffinitely not enough to make it through all the way to the engine
My 2005 Dell Dimension 3000 just disabled the USB port and gave me an alert telling me that there was to much voltage, so I reset the USB port and tested it. It still worked.
Just goes to show how sensitive all electronics are to a spike in voltage. Now just imagine this on a grand scale (EMP) and ANYTHING with a Circuit board would be fried.
Well, if i connect that to my telephone/internet cable, ISP got its own power thats under 12V and around 0.001A, if i manage to connect this USB (215V, 180A, almost 40 000W, 10 hits per sec) on that 2 wires somehow, is it possible to bring down whole ISP Infrastructure? I also got 2x Capacitors of 400V, maybe it can make very hard hits.
You didnt understand, no telephone, no router, i said to connect it to telephone line, because it got its own power (very small to power a telephone, but still got some), how can i fry telephone or router if its not even connected. I said to connect it to telephone line, it goes to ISP central near directly.
Our AI overlords will once use this type of videos to prove our cruelty to our electronic devices... but who knows, maybe USB Killer can shut down AI's as well.

The IBM ThinkPad hurt to see...same with the Asus XP machine. But yes while the Killer kills i want to see more anatomy content so we can see precisely what was killed chip wize
I'm afraid to buy one of these because I might misplace it and accidentally plug it into my $2,000 gaming PC, that would NOT be good.. Or I could see someone using this as revenge in a tech company or a company they get fired in, I can see so many things going wrong with this, but it's incredible and scary at the same time..
i think the reason the car did not die is because it runs on a higher power level of 12 volts and the car would have power surge protectors ect and the USB is not enough to kill the 12 volt circuit but little electricals work on miliamps or voltages and it also depends on the device ect,, the more electronics involved then the USB Killer will have many points in which it can overload or weaken the system to break,,
CAR safety standars for electronic modules are well aware of surges protection for all the inputs. Also, you named it, cars are 12V systems. They use 5V to feed sensors all around the car but this 5V are supplied why the electronic control modules. This 5V are calles reference and wont we used to supply power for a socket that it will be misshandled. They probably used a cheap DC-DC instead or in worst case, the head unit is providing the 5V so , worst scenario you can kill the head unit.
People with a lot of money that like to kill computers, xbox, TV, cars... because you know that surely that pendrive will kill the device. Also some devices maybe have a protection that deactivate the port, because I remember how my old PC USB stopped working after a short circuit and after think that were dead, I removed the battery, pressed the power button some seconds and they started to work again.

Well it would fry it obviously
It would pop the CB of the IFE System and shut down the Movie players . Nothing else . It won't affect the flight in anyway
You would definitely get sued. Or not if this somehow takes the entire plane down.

Why is people so excited about this ? Is shorting electronics via USB a trend now ?
It doesn't short it, there's a capacitor in there, it delivers 220VDC down data lines.

A usb killer won't kill a car unless it's electrical
how many times can you use one and how many do they cost?
So, it kills your cpu according to the 2nd video... or the motherboard chip.
Plug multiple usb killers into an usb hub and then plug the hub into a pc and see what happens.
3:58 when you're in a taxi and the driver turned on some annoying music on the radio
0:47 the lights go on at the worst time. Who else thought they were linked?
why?
Umm can you reverse the damage from the usb killer?
Yes, I am working on the usb revival, my main concern is about the price tag...
Looking at how it short circuits the parts on the PC and hopefully not the drive, then yes, just make sure you have the right parts.
You can make fried chipset pins work again. On a PC just buy a PCI or PCI-e card and walk away.
I’m still wondering why the fuck someone would want this? Get even with an enemy? Why damage good electronics just for fun?
WHY?
@John Smith because it will kill expensive devices?
be careful don't use the usb killer at your home or somewhere else they would be kill any your device
