Sony WM-EX505 Walkman personal cassette player review

Here is the Sony WM-EX505 personal cassette player Walkman. This walkman is one of many models that shares the same cosmetic look but wm-ex505 is equipped with dolby noise reduction. It is very highly sought after and elegant looking but is only capable of playing tapes. Enjoy my rant.

This players fascinated me, they take only one battery and it needs a step-up transformer, the electronics inside don't really work with 1.5V, an LED needs 1.7. Never had the money to buy one when a kid, but i tried to convert a normal player with autoreverse from mechanical do digital and managed to do the play button. The inside is more impressive than the outside.

i have one without remote, how can i test? should it works? thanks

Hi, Thanks for visiting my channel and your question. Functions that can't work without remote are sound effects, dolby, auto reverse modes, skip silence, and auto volume system ear protection. Other than those play, ff cue, rewind review Auto reverse and hold button should work if a battery is inserted unless the belt is perished. Good luck and cheers for now.

Great machine, I’d prefer one that’s not too pristine, otherwise I’d never use it.
