Thanks guys for the positive comments, it was my brothers first time out on track and let's say a lot was learnt on the day. The car has been fixed and the second track day went s lot better plus we are back at oulton park on the 31st March 2015 to try it again. It has been proven only time and experience will make a good driver. He has put a lot of time in to change the bad habits and next year hopefully will be entering in to sprint competitions. The negative comments have been a good read, shows people are there to help everyone out! Not really nice to see people take the mick out of someone just starting out and wanting to try something new, plus all you really track day goes will know everyone has a off or two to start with as you push the limits and find the edge.
Thank you, He has got a lot better, Been to oulton park, Blyton and booked on to cadwell park since this. He has learnt the hard way but due to this made him far better.
Thanks, he learnt a lot since from this. Shame a lot of people go to town saying he crap or should not be doing it. At least it went up for others to learn from and if you give advice make sure it's good advice
"Only put your foot on the throttle when you know you don't have to take it off again" Wise words of Jackie Stewart. Looks like you were taking your tips from Amir Kahn - never seen so much jabbing of the throttle! Smooth is fast my man..
Not slating the lad but he was erratic on the brakes , throttle and steering , he would prob benefit from some passenger seat tuition and driver seat tuition too.Rome wasn't built in a day , onwards and upwards young man.
Absolutely shit handling the st 150s have . Plus u could of easily saved that from hitting the barriers pahahaha every corner it was squealing like a bitch with a broken nail haha
What was going off after the crash? mainly the lowloader driver taking photos? the whole digger thing? didn't seem enough of an impact to damage any barriers?
low loader driver taking photos - may well have been for insurance reasons. Digger - Doesn't take much to unsettle the barrier posts. Not dealing with it now may result in failure on a heavy impact impact. All guess work :P
Just turned into Lodge far too early, I've made that mistake and have wheels off there, you just have to keep your foot in or you end up fishtailing into a barrier...
Sorry to see your car get damaged, This is what happens when you put shit tyres on a high performance car IMO. Massive understeer started the crash 👍. What make tyres were on the car by the way?
haha, place i crashed most in video games :P It comes downhill and car is losing grip ..."Nooooo..." when realizing that precious car is going to be wrecked.
Oulton park is such a goid circuit except when you have a bunch of arseholes who race on track who think go karting will make them drive a race track better, does not work that
Sorry to say but that was some really poor driving. I'm only 2 minutes in and I'm surprised you didn't lose it that soon. You know the throttle is analogue, right? It's not a switch...
u kept giving it gas to soon and on the last one u where going to fast and you kept giving it gas and learn to use the brake, but other than that good driving
Im afraid to tell you your more of a second position driver at the moment without having the knowledge and skills on the track, ypu need to learn to replace the A peddal with the B pedal and not try pushing it so hard until 1 your tyres are warm 2 you know the track better and three you focus on more things than just being the leader. You almost lost it a few times and was just lucky there. Im afraid this is the truth and wether you like it or not my dad used to tell me when i first got into formula 3... Your not as capable as you would like to think. Just need some more practice and a nee car now and im sure you will be fine.
Sorry to tell you... Yes I am. I did not mean to offend you but I am telling you your mistakes whether you like them or not, don't believe me watch the video back. Following pos 1 driver going great hitting okay lines, then you get carried away once you have the lead over accelerating ( from lack of experience).. Common on track days, from your adrenaline, where you.should have taken up a defensive measure instead of trying to out speed him, which is why you hot the corner to quick. You can have a go at me on here all day but I am just trying to help you and don't want an argument. Taking advice always made me better, you should give it a go. Good luck with your driving.
I think the problem started at 2:56 when it appears you were struck by lightning. Shame though.
It started just before the lightning with the missed apex :-)

ben copson Glad the lesson was learned. Wishing your brother lots of safe fun in the future.

Upwards on onwards
You always know you've had a proper moment when the wipers start going lol.
You'll learn. Don't put it down to one of those things. Learn from it

throttle off on off on off ...that fucking annoying as and bloody awful driving at say the least.
Gotta love everyone posting "coulda saved that" amazing how everyone behind the keyboard is a pro driver lol

Well said , yep I remember Jackie Stewart saying that and I hear it in my head into every corner on every track day , that,s good advice 😉👍🤘!
Exit speed is more important than entrance speed in corners , someone else said that 🤔🤔🤔🤷 !
When the JCB put his feet down, i thought you'd decidded to have the remains buried where it died...
Not slating the lad but he was erratic on the brakes , throttle and steering , he would prob benefit from some passenger seat tuition and driver seat tuition too.Rome wasn't built in a day , onwards and upwards young man.
Poor driver, looks expensive.
Absolutely shit handling the st 150s have . Plus u could of easily saved that from hitting the barriers pahahaha every corner it was squealing like a bitch with a broken nail haha
Its a very good handling car.
Must admit I've got a SWB Transit that handles better than that 🤦 !
Wow! oulton park crew are very professioonal
road tyres?
It appears that your talent ran out quite quickly there!
Talent?

Thanks, a lot have the same accident there just caught him out plus in experience did not help to just plant it

You could see your frustration getting the better of you after getting stuck behind those two nuns in the red Skoda.
At least they didn't bury their car in the barrier...duh..
He could have easily saved that.
Feel for you. Lodge is a tricky corner. You were going in much too fast and were too jerky on the throttle imo.
haha, place i crashed most in video games :P It comes downhill and car is losing grip

Oh there we go. Three minutes in~ I wasn't far off at least.
What happened to your car? Write of, cold tyres got you there. Same car sounded nice.
Car been fixed, and done a few track days since. Just cold tyres and inexperienced that's all
Was the ESC off or on?
Warm those tyres up first
lifted the gas too suddenly, very simple and easy mistake, oh well, it's been 5 years since then, chances are he learnt :D
That's some proper poor circuit driving. Get some tuition.
Imagine if you got that on finance 😂
Who’s Jeff?
u kept giving it gas to soon and on the last one u where going to fast and you kept giving it gas and learn to use the brake, but other than that good driving
You have no idea what you’re talking about pal
Nooooooooooo !!!! ^^
ouch
YEEEESSSSSSS
I liked the video because car sounded great and was fast and some very good driving. Shame about the ending though :(
Aarrgh that sucks mate!!

Still smashing cars up? Or have you learned to take people advice on board yet?
Cannot drive haha
