    Really enjoyed the views of the terminals as you taxied to your gate. That's the first close up view of the new international terminal I've seen. Great video as always. Thank you

    There's nothing like a flight like this over the Pacific to get a feel for how far it is to Hawaii, especially during the day when all you see for five hours is water.

      Three weeks ago, Hawaiian Airlines initiated nonstop service between Honolulu and Boston, which is now the longest scheduled domestic air route in the United States at 5,100 miles and 11.5 hours. (Hawaiian's service between New York-JFK and Honolulu is now the second-longest nonstop domestic flight.) When you cross over California's Pacific coast, you still have another 5-plus hours to go.

    I flew on a Continental 747-xxx back in the day in 1990 to Oahu, and then back to IAH. Impressive a 737 can now do that.

    Love your cameras 4k footage. Landing towards the east is always a treat at LAX.

    Cool vid. I've flow into LA dozens of times and I've never landed from the West over the water. Lucky perspective!

      I believe it's mostly during extreme early arrivals.

    • @donaldkoelper5807
      @donaldkoelper5807 5 лет назад

      FYI, due to a noise abatement protocol, inbound flights to LAX between 12:00 midnight and 6:00 a.m. are routed to the airport on short final from the west unless wind / weather conditions dictate otherwise. So, if you really want to experience that perspective, your best bet is to book your arriving flight into LAX within that 6-hour window. Be forewarned, though, that because inbound flights usually have a stiff tailwind pushing them, it tends to be a somewhat hard landing on touchdown.

    Wow! Landing over the ocean at LAX, that is rare!

    • @RHCP9181
      @RHCP9181 3 года назад

      IsoscelesKramer usually atc will allow inbound aircraft from the west to use the 6s and 7s between the hours of midnight to 6am I think, saves time and money, but having to land on the north complex when parking on the south complex defeats part of that purpose.

    Sat 4F a few months ago to and back from Cancun on a 737-924 ER. United Business is kind of meh, the seats were big enough and we were served lunch/dinner, but was underwhelmed by the blue lighting that is supposed to be a nice feature. Forgot what they call it.

    I've seen images of 737 space bin cabins that have bulkheads with colors based on the max. Does anyone know the tail numbers of the -800s and the -900ers that have the new UA bulkhead colors as opposed to the legacy CO bulkheads on most 737ngs?

    For you to be arriving at LAX at around 530am,what time did you leave Maui? Seems odd for FC passengers to be served a meal at such a late hour--was your aircraft parked on the ramp somewhere for a later schedule as it was towed in to your gate? Was enjoying the view from the terminal of your aircraft only to be ruined by that recorded male voice warning about smoking in the airport--a fair amount of daylight upon arrival--living on CT in Houston,its still dark at 530am

    I would fly this route in a single aisle aircraft but NOT in a crappy Boeing 737, any model. Until the 747, DC-10 and L-1011 came along, single aisle was the only way to go. Give me a 757 or better yet an a321 NEO.

    I just got back from a similar flight (Ogg to Sfo) same equipment . These planes are miserable on anything more that 3 hours .

    Hawaii on a 737. What a change from the days of the big planes. I remember flying United in there conisour class on a 747-200.to hawaii What great service and the seats were huge. Bigger and nicer than the first class of today. A full menu of items for lunch and the FAs were excellent. United has definitely taken a large dump since then. What a BS airline it has become. Oh yea. The homeward journey was on board a DC10!! No 737s.

      Fuel prices and the public wanting the lowest possible price is the reason for the shift in product and service.

      You're dating yourself to "back in the day." Wide-bodied aircraft were all the rage in the 1970s and '80s, and were a staple on most all of United's trans-Pacific and transcontinental flights. I miss them, too. Nowadays, B737s and A320s/321s are much more fuel-efficient and economical for airlines to operate, and widebodies are used almost exclusively for really long-haul routes. Two weeks ago I flew on United from Washington-Dulles to Honolulu with a connection in San Francisco, and ended up on a B737 for both legs of my journey.

    Can't even imagine being in main cabin for almost 5 hours in a narrow body over the Pacific......painful states it perfectly.

      Many years ago had a redeye flight on a 757 from Las Vegas to Detroit. I think that's what started my dislike for narrow body flights. Yet flown 9.5 non-stop to Honolulu with no issues in a 777 and an A330-300 loved it. Was sad to see the flight end.

      How about 7 hours on a 757 to Barcelona going and about 8-1/2 hours coming back to Newark. And this was in economy. I had no problems, I had an aisle seat both ways

    • @random3802
      @random3802 5 лет назад

      @@richardsundown2175 Dude. Why do you think they MADE narrow bodies. Also, United 777 to HNL is the WORST possible. No IFE for a 10 hour flight. I couldn't do that.
