From the back of a box of cereal I cut out a cardboard 45 rpm disc and placed in on my phonograph player. That was the first time I danced to "Sugar Sugar," in 1969. That and the moon landing. Fond memories. Thanks, Sarah!
In 1969 I was 8 years old. We had an AMI model from 1957 in our family room. My mom's favorite song was Sugar Sugar. She would play it over an over. It got louder an louder. Great memories growing up. Oh by the way we still own the Jukebox. Great cover

Archies nailed this a bunch of studio musicians and now you have just owned it. My Grandma would have approved she loved the original i recall her at about 65 years dancing with the hoover to it.

Hi Sarah love this song losty brother at forty four to cancer eight years ago then my mum got cancer then got better then she got again its like my whole family wiped away but stuff my job I look after her I hear this song amd makes me smile thanks love you Dave xx

Sarah. Nice cover song of The Archies SUGAR SUGAR. It was a popular song on the radio stations back in the day when I was about 9 years old and all us kids would watch The Archies cartoons on the telly. There were many Archie songs that would be played besides Sugar Sugar that were just as fun to dance to as kids. Love your feminine vocals which gives this song a brand new fresh sound.

One of the things about you Sarah that I love seeing, is your constant subtle movements to the beats of the songs you sing. I remember this song when I was about 9 years old and read the Archie's comic books and the cartoons on the telly. I remember there were lots of Bubblegum Pop music then for us kids. The real Archie's were Ron Dante, lead vocals, Toni Wine, vocals and Andy Kim. Thanks much for the memories.

Don Kirshner who had produced a number of Billboard #1 hits for The Monkees had originally wanted The Monkees to record "Sugar, Sugar" but the group rejected the song as too pop, too bubblegum. So Don stopped working for the band. Don invented The Archies, a fictional cartoon band specifically to do Sugar Sugar. Don said he wanted a band who's members didn't "talk back"...This version reached No. 1 in the US on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1969 and remained there for four weeks. !!
