Carrie Preston getting her own show Elsbeth was such a happy surprise! Love her and love Elsbeth! I’m so excited for her that after 30 yrs in the entertainment industry it’s finally her turn to “Sparkle and Shine”, and she deserves every moment! I would love to see Kyle MacLachlan make a guest appearance on the show as her love interest from The Good Wife!
I only heard about this show a week ago by my neighbor! I watched the first episode this week and then binged the rest this weekend! I love this character so much! I’ve already started watching again.
I love the way the guy cut off Gayle’s abrupt closed ended nothing question to find out why she called if a miracle. That’s what we all wanted to hear. Thanks for digging deeper
Just watched her new show. Scripted exactly like Columbo start to finish. Hard to top that show. Hollywood doesn’t have the talent to come up with new ideas. Young people don’t know Columbo so it should do very well
I know I'm probably gonna get pnegative feedback for my review of this show but to me it's a cheap knockoff of Columbo. He's Italian She has an Italian surname ; Columbo socializes with the antagonist(s) to the point of "getting under their skin" as does Elsbeth, Columbo was socially awkward (quirky) as well as Elsbeth. She's astute as Columbo. Columbo was a warm, personable and sensitive person Elsbeth is ditto. Somewhere in the Columbo series he gets a dog named dog. I'm waiting for her to get a mascot (how sweet and touching). The story lines tend to "borrow" from Columbo such as a body is discovered in a wall located in a residence; in an episode about a coup against a disgruntled landlord. The same storyline was used in a Columbo reboot about a celebrity. She busts a plastic surgeon on her shoe prints. Columbo busts a gym owner for tying his victim's shoes backwards. She wants to become involved with her suspects vocations ex: She wants her suspect to teach her tennis his profession; She wants a suspected Real Estate Agent to help her find an apartment. Columbo has the same approach. She always has a witty remark to her adversary alluding to she knows of their guilt. As does Columbo. Now I know this could be a coincidence but to me there are just too many similarities between the two shows for this to be the case. Now I really like the show (go figure) and will continue to watch it (call be a hypocrite). But things are what they are.
She acknowledges that the character was presented to her (back on 'The Good Wife') as a female Colombo but I don't think of it as a cheap knock-off. It is very unique and Carrie brings such charm to the role that she makes Elsbeth a riveting character all on her own.
watched her in the good fight and loved elsbeth and she was naturally excellent! now with own series it will be enjoying more of her company! another scatterbrain who i loved and her dress sense is phoebe (friends). lisa kudrow should have had a phoebe series.
Saw the first episode and loved it! More to come, she's awesome!
I would absolutely watch that character again. She was so good in TGW and TGF
