Great video! The first tunnel you were in came out of Platform 1 at Wynyard before the area was converted to a car park. On the other side of the brick wall preventing you from going any further was a pistol firing range which was accessed through a door adjacent to the barred gate that you came up to under the Harbour Bridge. The tunnel that you used on your return would have lead to Platform 2 at Wynyard. Your path was blocked by a huge ventilation unit which was used to expel the exhaust from cars and prevent the build up of carbon monoxide when the area was being used as a car park. When Platforms 1 and 2 were being used by trams, only a paling fence separated them from the trains using Platforms 3 and 4. The tunnels will never be used by trains as they're now considered too narrow to use by today's standards, and, as you mentioned, they're quite steep. Ridiculous really, as the two tunnels that are in use for railway traffic are identical to these two.
Great job. However I did see them myself. First I walked from Wynyard Carpark to north through the car-park tunnels, then I saw a camera at the corrugated gate fence and dodged the camera. I then bolt cutted the chain and the 3 screws before venturing into the tunnels like you did in 0:36. I closed the door behind me and propped it up with a chair and a fire extinguisher to jam it up and preventing anyone especially security workers from getting in which bought me more time. I ventured in and seen the whole lot like what you seen. Also I came across litter and I collected about 25 rail spikes that were left behind and preserved from when the tram line was removed in 1958. So all of that I did was a "Point of No return"
A multi key and a set of padlock pick locks works for me :) Most of the old padlocks take about three seconds to rake...I grew up in Sydney and used transit system I often wonder how much asbestos from the train brake pads I breathed in as the pressure from from the arriving train washed over us ,but I digress I do that :)
Epic footage, what a rush that would be. I havent caught the trains around Sydney in over 20 years now as I moved up north, but back in the 90's I was on the trains a lot, I even remember catching red rattlers. Thanks for the vid, liked and subscribed.
Fairly sure that used to the NSW police practice shooting range , they used one of the tunnels of the old tramways , and the other tunnel was used as an exit from the Wynyard carpark

They haven't bricked off the exit from the old car park?! It's my understanding that they are building a new skyscraper on top of the entrance access to the old tunnels and platforms; and I've been very curious if they have retained access through the basement level(s) of that building. I've heard of the pistol range but didn't know that was it! Thanks for the history lesson!

Travelled by tram across bridge, I could see the water under the tracks, in back of toastrack tram in the '40's.

Awesome video mate. I'm 66 years old and still going tunneling.
Yep, good luck next time you need search and rescue 😂 there's a reason shit like this is locked down.
Brilliant and intrepid. Used to use that tramway to North Sydney Pool when living in the City. Thanks for the memory.

Great video well done. can you try and get in the museum station tunnels, I think there is a shaft in hyde park.
already did, it's a vent for the train tunnels. Found a few doors down there, but they r all linked to the alarms.

Well done mate
Just spent a couple hours tryna find this place, cant wait to check it out soon thanks for the vid man
Why are they whispering? They are the only ones there!!
The way they are talking you’d think they were prison escapees
You whisper in case you're not...
Freakin awesome video. Well done.
Some tunnel refuges bricked up; why would they even bother to do that?
For safety reason i guess
Perhaps it's to hide the past that does not fit hiStory.🤫
Used to do panels down there in 89
Goddamn legendary!

Hey, sounds like we did similar stuff...we did pretty much all the bunkers south and north head in the 1980's...they all started to look the same...
Is it true in the 70's people would practice witchcraft in the tunnels?

they can't brick off the exit as it's still used as car park for railway staff. it's not possible to build anything on top as there's a bridge there.
