+Richard Brooke Huge thanks for Tom selling me his childhood vac, like the keeper. I could see how much it meant to him and how happy he was that’s it’s going to a good home. No big mess tests or crazy use, but will get used sometimes to keep it in working condition. 😁
The cradle design base plate (one you have) was better at keeping contact with the carpet than the original DC01 base plate but the original fixed DC01 base plate keeps the suction in and allows the carpet to stick to the nozzle unlike the cradle design.
My mum still has and uses the DC01 Grey/Blue Antarctic special edition. I have replaced the motor, lead, switch and belt as well as the handle wand as it snapped. Plastic is getting a bit brittle now around the motor and have glued/plastic welded the chassis in places. Still going strong and has the Antarctic Solo stickers on it!
The DC33 takes 2 tools only, 1 upholstery brush and 1 combo tool crevice and dusting, not like the early 32mm tools. But more like the wide side of your adapter tool. (stylized E end of late Dyson tools)Put the adapter in the the DC33 tool position to show what I mean. Now the DC33 tools are a special size the combo tool is shorter so not to interfere with power switch and upholstery tool neck is different length to fit in horizontal tool holder I think it is about a 1/2" longer.
+Keith Millington Ahhhhh Yes, Shannon Lester sent me a little vid and I’d not realised it was the later type of tools. Think I have some around somewhere?
Hello Dorian, I can confirm that my local walmart still stocks brand new dc33's. The dc33 appears to be exclusive to walmart and even comes in "walmart blue". I really enjoy your videos, thanks for making them!
I think the tools for the DC33 are the same type as for the Dc50, the vertical holder is for a combined crevice / dusting brush, and the horizontal holder is for the upholstery tool. Have you tried the tools from the DC50 on the DC33? Just wondering if they would fit. The old tools from the DC07 and DC04 were compatible with each other, but the crevice tool will not fit the DC14, which had a bent crevice tool, like the DC15 had, although the dusting brush and upholstery tool from the DC07 I think will fit the DC14. Dyson changed the tool fittings quite a lot over the years, so forward and backward compatibility between models was an issue. The Tools on my new Light Ball will not fit its predesessor the DC40, as it uses a new type of fitting yet again. The tools for the DC01 were not the same as the DC04 / Dc07 type, and I think for storage on the machine, the upholstery tool actually sat on top of the crevice tool, much like my Light Ball does, with the adaptor (some models only) and the dusting brush going on the other side. Still waiting for an official first look and demo of that DC50 - dont you like it very much?
I know this video is a few years old, but DC04 Absolutes had green tools from new. Sure you probably know this already, but thought I'd mention it just in case :)
Hi, well I’m very glad you’re one of my subscribers, it’s a pleasure to have you comments my friend. I’ve always like them and washing machines since a kid. I’ve been fascinated with all the designs and the adverts for them on TV. They made them out to be (and still do) so exciting and easy to use and will make your life so much easier. I’ve only been in this for 18 months as I was interested in the restoration of them and it started from there. I’d seen so many videos on YT, but I wanted to make them a bit more fun and a learning process I want to take the viewers along with me on learning how to repair them. Many aspects can be used on other items too, like my polishing and respraying. As a kid I’d dreamed of working on a TV shopping channel.
HooverLux thank you very much for your reply! I really hope that one day you will ne on the tv show! I wish you that from all my heart! It is such a pleasure and joy to watch you. Can’t wait for the next film. 🙏
HooverLux Yes one other thing to note is that when you remove the cyclone from the cleaner you need to take extra care imagine that the hinges are made out of glass because they crack first then snap off rendering it unfunctional I don't want to see that happen to such a lovely cleaner my favorite vacuum cleaner is the dc01 de sije I dont understand why people slate them I think there alright and with any new technology there's going to be design flaws
+Jacob Barett Yes, I did it just for the video, they certainly would break easily if you did have to, wouldn’t be many left in use as it’s quite fragile 😂. Thank you 😊
DeLuxe Carwashchannel 2014 To be honest everyone says the YDK is better, but unfortunately I have no idea on the two different ones. I just take everyone’s word on it. Until I learn more about the motors I’m in the dark, but Sam says YDK, so YDK it is 🤣🤣
HooverLux Oh I was enquiring because I've recently ordered a yellow one which comes on wedesnsday and was wondering if it was from kd appliances so I could see what sort of condition I can expect I'll post some pictures when I get it
It's hard to think that these early Dysons are now vintage machines. You've been lucky to find one in such great condition Dorian. :-)

NumaticVacuum can’t believe I missed this comment, Bette late than never 🤣🤣🤣🤣

+Scott D Wow, That is so cool. I will be taking a look in Walmart when I’m there in a few weeks 😁
Have a good trip!
+Scott D Thank you Scott! I just can’t wait!!!!!

Hi Ed, I think I got the green tools for it separate on eBay, I will have to take a look later, thanks for your comment, keep them up and stay safe 🤗
The upholstery tool sits on top of the crevice tool and the dusting brush sits on that slot
+Amistech1995 That’s what i thought, but I’ve had to put on the upholstery bush upside down on it to fit on. I will show in my next vid on them. 😊😁😁😁
I can't get over how clear and cleans the dust bin and cyclone are an That machine.
+Bruce Solomon It was definitely used lightly and very well looked after, even when it was in daily use.
Fantastic video Dorian!
+stlwrx Thank you much for everything 😁
I am glad that I have discovered your channel! Could you tell me what do you own so many vacuum cleaners? Job, hobby or both?:-) many many regards

The dusting brush stores on the crevice tool
+cars and vacuum cleaners Thank you 😊, I really didn’t know much about these, now hopefully will learn more, ongoing process 😂😂😂

god i remember using my grandmothers dc01 de stjil when i was 5
+VacuumCleanerReviews I do like the colours of that! Maybe one day
When emptying the bin you don't take the cyclone of just lift of the bin and pull away the bin
+Jacob Barett Yes, I did it just for the video, they certainly would break easily if you did have to, wouldn’t be many left in use as it’s quite fragile 😂. Thank you 😊
So I imagine that the Small Ball is modeled after Sir James' right one???
Dont fit the dc33 stuborn they take new style tools
Which motor do you prefer in a DC01 ametek or Ydk motor
DeLuxe Carwashchannel 2014 To be honest everyone says the YDK is better, but unfortunately I have no idea on the two different ones. I just take everyone’s word on it. Until I learn more about the motors I’m in the dark, but Sam says YDK, so YDK it is 🤣🤣
Thanks for the shoutout!!!
+Vacuum Cleaner Collector/Fixer you’re very welcome, you work hard on your vids and credit where credit due my friend.
Did you buy this from kd appliances
philips 1897 Nah, I got it from another collector who also lives in my town.
