Thanks to all of you, an amazing video indeed! It seems to cover and summarise, in a well structured and lively way, almost all I've heard and thought myself about this topic (by the way, I'm neither a linguist, an academic, nor a language teacher). From the phonetical to sociolinguistic and cultural aspects, from the ways to become aware and identify the phonetical features of a given accent or language and those of one's native accent or language, the way to overcome the limits of its phonetical settings and enable mastering the "new" "unprecedented" sounds, phonemes, patterns of the new subject; the musicality, the acting and performing skills involved in such process; the wide range of possible motivations in (or behind) putting efforts on pronunciation (from the aim to improve the effectiveness of communication through clear sounds, to the wish for dropping one's accent (or the obsession about getting rid of it) and sound like a native, be it the result of a free choice or an external or internalised social pressure, the way this may affect or question one's sense of identity and its respect, and the debate on the legitimacy of such pressures and requests... Interesting, inspiring and very well explained
