Wonderful! I live here and it is brilliant to travel back in time like this. You can still see one of the old tunnel entrances from near the station on the Island, but the docks are unrecognisable, it's all new houses and paddle boarding now. It was great to see the train going all the way out to Jackson's Bay. I've read about it and seen photos, but much better like this. Thank you.
Relaxing, almost dreamlike but the journey is captivating, especially if your interest is in the railway theme. The area unknown to me, but it must have been fascinating to have known it.
❤ This is wonderful. It looks very similar. I can picture the locations as it goes through. I didn't know there was a second tunnel (the smaller tunnel that runs down the side of the sheds)? I know there was a tunnel at the end of Barry Island station.
Yes, not many people seem to remember the smaller tunnel. It was rough cut and unlined, and used VERY rarely. You can see it on this old map maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/#zoom=18.1&lat=51.39397&lon=-3.26374&layers=168&b=1
@@TheOpenBoatDAFFODIL oh, wow. That's interesting. I am a long-standing resident of Barry and as of recently, I have found myself really interested in the history of Barry. Did you build this section yourself? I am so glad someone has decided to digitally preserve the history of the town, in a visual way. I was considering doing something similar with Minecraft. 😆😅👍 I will definitely be showing this to my family and friends. Also, thank you for the link. :)

Superb video Ben !
That’s amazing, I use to play in a lot of the derelict warehouses on the island side as a
Kid that have all been knocked down now
