My first thyroid gland surgery was in 2016. Kalahati yung tinanggal and the result was benign and I wasn't taking meds kasi may half pa natira. After the surgery, may routine akong blood test every 6 months and all the results came back.normal up until my doctor asked ne to have an ultrasound and xray in 2021. Then the result came back na may enlarged SA natirang gland. Months later, I had the rest of my of thyroid gland removed and found out that i had papillary thyroid carcinoma. Kaya ngayon I'm.on medication na for life. Salamat SA Panginoon at naagapan ng maaga.
Same. My first thyroid surgery was 2016. Nag tira ang doctor sa right side ko. Pero continuos parin ang med ko since then. Kasi Tsh ko hindi balanse kapag hindi ako uminom may tendency tumataas ung TSH ko.
Me too i was diagnosed papillary carcinoma last sept...and naoperahan ng oct...nag radiation ng feb .mdyo matagal dhil walang gamot na available..pero ngayon ay ok na po ako...may follow up check up this may ....thank you lord ❤️
same po isa lang tinanggal skn kasi nkta nila sa biopsy na hindi nmn daw cancerous then after 9months 1 time nasugod ako sa ER due palpitations .. at ayun nakita sa ultrasound na may enlargement na isa kung thyroid at may bumalik na bukol sa left ko .. papillary carcinoma din labas .. hndi pa ako nagpa opera kasi suffer pa ako sa panick attacks ko

I was diagnosed with nearly stage 2 thyroid cancer when I moved to the States. At first, I was very hesitant to get it removed because I don't like taking medication in the long run. But my endoc advised me to get it removed kasi pag napabayaan it will be too late. So I said yes, we were expecting a part of it lang tatanggalin. Pero, it ended up naging total thyroidectomy dahil inflamed na ang thyroid ko.
My bills went to almost $30k thank god for health care I only paid COPAY pero almost $3k din.
Now I am taking Levothyroxine every day. 😞

Salamat Doc Alvin.. Marami po akong natutunan sayo.. Na diagnosed din po ako na may papillary carcinoma stage 3 noong 2021.. Hyperthyroidism sa akin.. Na undergo na din po ako ng RAI merong kamahal talaga...this time again this coming May 23 RAI ulit.. kasi merong silang na kitang sa ultrasound na node sa right ng neck ko.. Consider melastasis...kaya kumalat ang cancer dahil matagal hindi ako bumalik nag pa check up sa doctors...at kulang din ang budget. Hoping and praying na merong Nuclear Medicine sa public Hospital.

Hi Doc, QQ. I had a no total thyroidectomy and result was carcinoma and second stage cancer. Under gone many next procedure including radiation. 5 yrs ago. Since last year September I stopped my hormonal medicine until now. I got sick at first. Then gain so fast weight. But now I feel better without the hormonal meds. Change life style and avoid stress

Doc, father ko nagkaroon ng goiter years ago. Walang bisyo ang father ko, walang inom, walang sigarilyo, pagtaya lang sa lotto. 😂 Ang naapektuhan sa father ko is yung lower body nya, hindi sya makalakad. Anlaki din ng ipinayat nya. Nakailang specialist kami bago nadiscover na goiter pala ang sakit nya. Hindi halata sa neck nya kasi "paloob" yung naging paglaki ng thyroid nya kaya di talaga sya nadetect. Okay na naman sya ngayon. Wala sa family namin ang pagkakaroon ng goiter, pero may history kami ng diabetes.

Gusto ko na din magpatingin sa doktor mukhang may problema ako sa thyroid dahil pag mainit ang panahon sobra ako pawisan at pag naman malamig like nasa mall ako, nanginginig naman ako sa ginaw. Yung iba hindi naman. At nag gi gain ako ng weight kahit mahina naman ang kain ko.
Buti pa itong Doc na ito walang hugot hugot or kung ano mang irrelevant sa topic na sinasabi. Very informative and straight to the point. Ang cringe kasi manood sa ibang Doc/RUclipsr, eh hindi nmn lahat ng tao makaka relate at matatawa. Btw, thanks for the info Doc Alvin, keep it up! Subscribe kita.

Diagnosed with hypo (TSH 17) very recently but have hyper symptoms (fast heartrate, very underweight, etc.). Wish everyone good health.

I've been through what Miles went through. Almost same exact situation though yung situation ko was benign. I went through needle biopsy, to radiation therapy, up to the total thyroidectomy. Benign yung cyst sa akin pero lumalaki sya why I needed the surgeries. I had 2x thyroidectomy hoping on the first to save the other half pero inalis din the second half of the lobe few months after. I became hypo after my thyroid lobes were taken out. It's been over 10 years na rin and I am on a lifetime medication. I was taking the generic Levothyroxine pero di ako hiyang kaya I switched to the brand itself, Synthroid. I go through blood work at least 2-3x in a year to monitor my thyroid levels. Importante din magpa-wellness annually dahil being hypo or hyper can affect the other functions of your body.

Thanks DOC Alvin, ako din po nag karoon ng ganyan papillary cancer way back. 2002 napa opera konalang sya ng 2005 total thyrodectomy na and may maintenance narin ako for life ng levothyroxin. And I’m doing good since then. Friendly cancer nga sya tawag ng mga Doc. Kagaya nyo.😃
