Great video, can I ask - is it just the door for the loft conversation that needs to be a firedoor? Do any of the other doors need to be changed? Sorry if that a silly question? Cheers
If you have hard wired/linked smoke alarms would you get away wth a fire door to the loft? And therefore wouldnt need to change any other door in the hiuse?
Hi, I’ve been told that the steel for my conversion needs to have a fire rated paint applied. I don’t see any benefit for this as there is wood everywhere else in the house!! Is this the case?
Do brand new 3 storey town houses have the same requirements regarding fire doors on all floors. I've been in loads and don't remember them having fire doors everywhere. If not then why are loft conversions different, I mean what's the difference?
No it should be the same set out rules through England. I can’t comment on wales and Scotland as may do it slightly differently as I have heard some regs are different.
Absolutely great

Yes it is it’s just the rules I’m afraid.

Yes most new houses with 3 floors will have fire doors. But they are very subtle nowadays so blind in well.

Why can’t the stair window be opened ?
It’s a safety thing. To stop children or animals climbing out and falling.
