Owl City was my favorite back in the day as well! 😂 It’s nostalgic to listen to his older albums. 💕 ZOEgirl was my absolute favorite growing up.

My friend was telling me about ZOEgirl after watching this video too. I don't remember that band!

“My Everything” is my favorite song from the Mobile Or Hester’s album! I loved the Fireflies album too, it’s so nostalgic for me going back to 2009-2010!

Your thumbnail for this video 🤩 hooked me, and I loved the video! you’ve got some of my favorites! I have been out of the habit of listening to these old favorites recently, so it was so great to be reminded of some of them.
I think my progression of favorite band was
Relient K -> Owl City -> Nickel Creek (NOT nickelback)
We do hymns, folk songs, and classical music as part of homeschool, so that’s what’s often in our CD player these days. And then I’ll usually listen to podcasts/youtube & audio books more than music from my phone.
Relient K was my favorite band for so many years. Haha I’m laughing though because I loved the older cds. I was a fan at the time mmhmm came out, and got to see them live in concert afterwards, and got a picture with Matt Thiessen, which was so cool! I think I learned a lot about harmonizing in singing from them because of how much they do that. I loved their older musical style and lyrics. Their cds were really the first cds that I ever had that were my own, and I listened to them so many times. If you don’t already know, and I don’t know if this is available digitally - put the mmhmm cd in the CD player and rewind from the beginning of the first track and there is an extra tiny song!
“Getting into You” was the first song I learned to play on the guitar.
I enjoy Owl City and that Sky Sailing one too. From the Mobile Orchestra, I really liked the song “Back Home” - and I’ve seen him do a mashup with this song and Fireflies that sounds really pretty. There’s also an older Owl City cd called “Maybe I’m Dreaming” that has some fun songs too.
I like Kutless too, I used to have a concert shirt that had their name in all caps in a really scrolly font that nobody could ever read 😂 but I loved it and I still wonder what happened to it.
I remember liking Todd Agnew, I went to his church once actually but he wasn’t there that day, haha.
Hawk Nelson is another I loved. I don’t have any newer cds from them, just the 3 older ones. My Hawk Nelson is my Friend one has older cover art than yours. That was so sad when he walked away from Christianity. But, I think his reasons he gave were so basic and shallow that I don’t think he had given much thought to it. We are commanded to “love the Lord your God ... with all your mind”! So it does need to be thoughtful, and asking questions is good, but neglecting to look for or care about the answers is tragic.
Shout out for Stellar Kart! I have 3 of their cds too
Some other bands I like are Switchfoot, Seven Places - I still think of the song “Sleepers” often, Superchick, Barlow Girl, Sanctus Real, The Swift, some of five iron frenzy, I had 1 Wavorly cd I really liked especially the song A Summer’s Song

oooh, we have a lot of music taste in common then! I've never heard of Nickle Creek or Seven Places. Wavorly kinda sounds familiar 🤔 i will look those up. I did know that about MmHmm! I was so excited when I accidentally discovered that when I was rewinding the first song lol. That's why I love them, they're so fun like that. Getting Into You is such a good one! I think i used to play that one too.
Yes, I like Rainbow Veins off Maybe I'm Dreaming and On the Wing is one of my all time faves, but it's on Ocean Eyes too. Back Home is fun, i still listen to that one occasionally. Unbelievable is my favorite off that album.
Oh no, That's so sad you lost the Kutless shirt! And also unfortunate that Todd Agnew wasn't there the one time you went.
Yeah, I read what Jon had to say about all his unanswered questions and at first, I was really sad that he apparently didn't know a single person that was able to answer his questions when he was going through a crisis of faith, but then I remembered the verse that says something like, When you seek Me with your whole heart, you'll find Me. So I feel like he was just making excuses for leaving Christianity because if he was truly wholeheartedly searching for God, he would have found him in the end.
Thank you so much for watching the video and commenting!

@@Celestria Nickel Creek is definitely different, much more “folk” music, I guess. My husband loved them and so when I met him I started listening too and fell in love with the style. Overall, I rank their cds in the order the came out, so I like their 1st cd best and their most recent one - years ago now - the least. I was glad that they made that last cd though, because by the time I became a fan they had broken up. But they temporarily got back together, made one more cd and toured that year, and so I got to see them live 🤩 when I had thought I would never have a chance to. Pretty cool. Note - they dont style themselves as a Christian band, and I don’t think they ever did. I think originally they did call themselves Christians, but the Chris Thile I don’t think does anymore. He is probably the best mandolinist in the world, so a very cool listen.

That's awesome you got to see them live on their final tour! Also mandolins are so cool, I'm def looking them up later.

This was really interesting as I’m always curious about other people’s music taste. Also, I’ve never heard of some of these people, lol! I’d do this on my channel except I only own like four CDs so it would be really boring. 😂 You should show your movie collection too!

Maybe you could still make a video talking about your music playlists or just what you've been listening to lately!

it’s the song on the afters album! It’s about fall! I feel the same about it. I got to see them live when they released that album and they were all such nice guys. Man that was like 15 years ago 😅
Also I love air for free but probably because it was the soundtrack for the first ever blimey con. I’ll always associate it with that 🙃
