it's really interesting how dude's career would've turned out even if he beat Jones. like, i feel like he's just had a good amount of damage accumulated from both his MMA fights and probably his time playing football. my guess is if he won the belt he would've gotten got by either Jones in a rematch or by Jan/Glover/Jiri either way. a belt would've been nice tho

He always kept his hands down. I imagine he punches hard enough. That it’s fine. But he was fighting in every direction. Excellent forward and backward fighting, excellent lateral movement and throwing. But after a loss he just stopped. He wouldn’t fight going backwards until he already hit the cage and by then it’s too late. He fought going backwards against Jiri and hit him clean. But after his loses he just goes forward hands down against people who are better strikers. If he goes back to athletic fighting, lateral movement, counter punching and stepping off after the first or second back step instead of just, walking straight backwards into the cage, he can still rack up some wins

  • @johnnymz

With Reyes I see two things that led to his current skid. He was a lot more patient in his fights prior to Blachowicz and also used footwork and head movement. He also became overly aggressive and swung for the fences in those losses to Jan, Jiri and Spann. It’s like night and day watching his fights prior to the Jan fight, he shouldn’t have changed camps. Sometimes change isn’t a good thing in fighting.

That loss to jones ( which i had Reyes winning 3-2) crushed his spirit. The loss to Jan B. Destroyed his spirit and the loss to Jiri P. Destroyed his chin. One fight can do it or too hatd in sparring. I've seen guys lose their chin in the chins in the gym. Train smart. Hope Reyes can turn it around.
