I appreciate your insight re: temperate trees. We had a good discussion about the topic and pomegranate trees at the TBS silent auction last month. Cheers
Sangat menyenangkan mengikuti video anda dari awal hingga akhir, banyak pelajaran yang bisa saya dapat dari kerja anda yang sangat teliti dan menghasilkan karya pohon bonsai yang istimewa. 31:10
Interesting species. It's a nice bonus to have edible fruit! I wouldn't say the exposed root style is my favorite, but it definitely can look great when done well!
Have to admit that this is one of the nicest Malpighias that I've seen. It looks fantastic with the birds and the sand. I can imagine it in a tropical landscape. Thanks for another GREAT video.
Hi Nigel, we have those trees, i have one planted over a rock. they back bud very easy.. You got a really nice mature tree, and I'm looking forward to what you do with it..Great work my friend..🎉
The unusual root is the Spirit of the tree. These things that 'break the rules' are the aspects that make some trees special, sometimes even famous. But, once again, it's not my tree, and you're the Maestro.
What an interesting tree that first one is! Those vertical roots remind me of what I am aiming for to create legs for a stylized Lord of the Rings Ent bonsai!
Nice to see you doing bonsai with this specie, it is among my favorite by the way you can multiply them by cuttings much easier than by seeds, almost 100% success
@TheBonsaiZone you're probably right.. I was thinking that it makes the trunk look thicker / chunky. Removing it might give more taper and allow you to put a bigger rock under the tree...
Barbados Cherry is different from wild crape myrtle though they belong to the same clade. In the Philippines wild crape myrtle is also called Melendres
It's looking like a mangrove tree.
It would be an interesting style for it!

Both very cool little trees! Great additions to your Zombie Apocalypse survival collection!! Edible Bonsai!
Nice pruning on the BC. Great start for some nice growth this spring. Birds are a touch of class.
Erin's tree gift looks cool. Your expert skills pruning will bring out some nice growth this spring also.
Catching up on videos, Nigel. I missed two of yours. Watching now with a cup of tea.

Ottimo lavoro👋

Thanks for the tips!
How can you make cuttings of them?
This is wonderful..❤ personally, I'd consider pruning off that wrap around root this spring...it might make it easier to restyle it..🤔🤔
I think it would leave a big space in the root base, I'll just have to keep it around the back!
@TheBonsaiZone you're probably right.. I was thinking that it makes the trunk look thicker / chunky. Removing it might give more taper and allow you to put a bigger rock under the tree...
Just wondering if you could do a short video on the care of air plants?
I'm no expert with air plants, but I'd guess, just keep them warm and humid!!
I didn't know you could remove that much! 90% of the top is gone! 😂
😊
Concerning the rock, you couod probably make a rock for the tree😊
That might be a good idea!!
I have a barbados cherry tree bonsai that I am terrified to prune. I’d love some advice! It go its first blossom today!
Nice, I would prune it when it's getting just too long!!
could always ground layer it - essentially creating a new root base for it
That would be possible, but I think the style is well established and it would be a shame to change it!
@@TheBonsaiZone something different for the collection!
👍👌👌
