Those are really good. I am in Germany and paid 25 bucks for 48. :) I couldn't afford Faber Castell colored pencils so I am happy I found this alternative.
Hi Karia, I remember on one of your recent reviews "can't remember the product", you made the comment that you would have liked to see more suitable skin tones. I thought of you when I came across a listing on ebay today for a 24 piece Portrait artists set within these Koh-I-Noor Polycolours - which covers the whole spectrum of ethnic skin tones in a pretty well balanced selection. I really think the way they have put together these colour palette sets for specific interest is well conceived and means you can get the colours you need without having to buy ridiculously large and expensive sets. The 24 piece landscape set seems right up my street and those greys.
+Peter Sobocki yes! I did a review of the dick blick pencils which are very similar if not identical, so I have decided to get Blick Artists pencils. I got a set 36 but I want to add a set of those skin tones for my list!
I just got this same set and your video is very helpful. I agree about the smaller barrel. Noticed that right away. They are very good pencils on the whole.
I love these pencils. They were my first. I have the 72 set. They are still the pencils I reach for most. They are very affordable in U.K. And Europe and vastly underrated in my opinion.
Sue Wilkinson They indeed, I get so excited when I get some new pencils. I've got all the sets I wanted now apart from Holbein, I'm going to have to save up a bit for those.
I snapped a woodless one taking it out of the tray :O. I am also heavy handed , so I don't use them. I told my boyfriend he can have them. They do color nicely they are just too delicate for me. I do use and love the set you have there. I added a few colors buying them open stock from AC Moore. I still covet FC Polychromos - but in the meantime these are awesome :-)
It should be mentioned the Koh-I-Noor Polycolor pencils are oil based just like the Faber Castell Polychromos. The Koh-I-Noor would be a great alternative if someone doesn't have the money to spend on the Polychromos.
+macgurrl it's mentioned in the description. :) but they aren't really comparable to the polychromos as the don't layer as well and are closer in quality to the prismacolor (even though the prismacolor are wax).
I was curious about these pencils so I was glad to see that you made a review on them. After watching your review I ordered a set of thirty six from Amazon, and after using them one time, I wish I had ordered the seventy two set. You said they would deliver and they did just that.
Oh thank you! It’s ok. Because you know me I would advise against ordering a full set of any pencils without trying them yourself. If you need to replace or to add colors you can go to a dick blick location and get their artist pencils.
Did I see correctly that I could purchase these pencils open stock in the Blick store? I know they don’t carry them on the website. I wonder what other goodies they carry in their store?
Yes! the shape of the barrel is different but the blick artist colored pencils are the same pencil inside, they even use the same unusual font. the names might be different for some of the colors but they are basically the same. You can check out my Blick Pencils reviews: ruclips.net/video/oq5vjyLw7c0/видео.html Ps. Thank you so much for your support! it means the world to me!

I was waiting for your opinion video to see if I should buy them or not. Now I am sure I will. Thank you!
Stewie! :D The price for these is amazing and your test piece looks really good! I have the woodless ones and they fascinate me for their weight and the fact that' I'm holding a huge lead (but I don't really use them all that much lol).
You should review the Blick Studio Artists' Colored Pencils. They are made by the same manufacturer of the Koh-i-noor colored pencils. I wonder if they are exactly the same? The Blick colored pencils are also a little bit cheaper too.
I live in Slovakia and Koh-I-Noor products are quite expensive here. They are great but quite soft for me. I dont like soft pencils. Landscape set is really great, especially one blue colour number 139. You cant get some colours from landscape and portrait sets in open stock neither in any other set. The same for greys.
Thank You! I've Loved these for many years and I'm praying that they will let me order their other 72 colors, only available by 12 of each color,in open stock. They probably only sell on the European Stores.
what is the best coloring books for these pencils an should i use there colorless blender or can i use any colorless blender i been having trouble with them.
The pencils of this brand you showed in the beginning (the set of greys, the brown set, and the two sets of 36), do you know if those ones are included in the 72 set? Cos if they aren’t, that would bump up the number of pencils available in this brand quite a bit. Does anyone know about that? Are the grey set etc separate from the 72 set?
There's more than 72 colors. From what I heard from Koh-I-Noor polycolor users, none of the gray set pencils are included in the 72 set. Half of the Brown set are included in the full set while the other half isn't. The same goes for the Portrait and Landscape sets.
+naturegirl2110 that's a though call. The price on the prismacolor has dropped so much that it's hard to say no. I say get whichever you can get for less.
What does the word “polycolor” actually mean? “Poly” usually means more than one, so does a polycolor pencil mean they have more than one colour in each pencil? Hi 👋 from Australia 🇦🇺
I don’t know why they named it “poly”color but no there is only one color per pencil. They do have another set called TriTone which has three colors per pencil and are cool for adult coloring books but I’m not sure how useful for actual artwork they are.
Kathryn Wright in that case I would stick with the Faber Castell polychromos and or Caran d’Ache luminance both of which I have reviewed on this channel.
You can totally get these and try the just greys but I don’t know if the photorealistic results would be quite the same. But I will say that that’s one of the best things about these is that they do come in those special packs.
+Lorri Carnevale as per description: "These colored pencils are hexagonal with the names printed on each pencil. Although it is unlisted these function like oil based pencils. These Koh-I-Noor Polycolor colored pencil are wonderfully pigmented and blend really well. I was completely surprised by the quality of these pencils."
Thank you for your quick response I was asking because I am an Image transfer artist and I would with pure silver & bronze metal clay and I like to add color. I was thinking these might work.. I did a piece the other day using inks and overlay of a oil based colored pencil @imperfectlybeautiful_designs its a 4 leaf clover...check it
have you compared the Koh-I-Noor Polycolor with the Marco Renior? I haven't tried the Marco Renior yet and was wondering which set would be the best to get...if I don't end up with both that is...
Thank you for great review. I have been trying to decide on an oil based pencil and this is it! And thanks to commenter who gave DickBlick site and colors.

+PaperwormsCat they are really good! I'm glad you found something you enjoy!

I am very happy that you did this. i got my 72 set recently and i am in love with Polycolor (and all Koh-i-noor stuff like Mondeluz:):)
+Angayasse thank you! I'm glad you liked it!
I just got this same set and your video is very helpful. I agree about the smaller barrel. Noticed that right away. They are very good pencils on the whole.
Glad to see you are back. I have both the polycolor and watercolor sets of 72. They are surprisingly good quality and they color well. Cheers!
I got the 72 set yesterday from Amazon, they are beautiful pencils.
+Hayley Wood they are lovely pencils.
Hayley Wood and don't they smell nice when you open the tin. I love the cedar wood smell.
I love these pencils. They were my first. I have the 72 set. They are still the pencils I reach for most. They are very affordable in U.K. And Europe and vastly underrated in my opinion.

@@macgurrl Koh-i noor says polycolor is both oil and wax based at the same time. It's 50/50

+Eve Bolt - Bolt's Vault the woodless are different and I think much poorer quality. :)
Thats interesting. They should be same.
They’ve released a set of 144 now :)
Clare Warp woah

+Iorek Byrnison those are high on my list!
I was thinking about getting those and now I got my confirmation on it I will be trying them out thank you so much for doing this video
+Catrena Belgamh thank you so much for watching! I added an Amazon affiliate link so if you are in America check that out.
Yes I am I'm in America and thanks for everything

een geweldig review ik heb namelijk ook de polycolor maar dan de 72. Ik kom uit Nederland. Groetjes patries kleurt

You are welcome and thank you for the tip!

yet another awesome review
+Wessel Van De Coolwijk thank you so much for watching!
Would these be good for someone just about to start with adult coloring books?
Yes they would! They would be great for that.
ColoringKaria Koh I Noor or prismas which would you pick?
+naturegirl2110 that's a though call. The price on the prismacolor has dropped so much that it's hard to say no. I say get whichever you can get for less.
what do you use to save the color of your pictures after you color them?
+Catrena Belgamh hello! I made a recent video featuring three different ways to protect your pages.
What does the word “polycolor” actually mean? “Poly” usually means more than one, so does a polycolor pencil mean they have more than one colour in each pencil? Hi 👋 from Australia 🇦🇺

Polycolor costs more than mondeluz, I don't know why. However mondeluz has more pigments.
Thank You
+jenny23051 no problem
They also have the 24 woodless set, I got here in Canada.
+MOODY the woodless set is a completely different pencil. It's not the same and not the same quality.
ah ok I did not know that :-) I was going to ask what you thought of them?
+MOODY I wasn't really impressed by them to be honest.
ah ok, I was just wondering because I just purchased them at Michael's, $40, (i think)
+MOODY wow! You can get polychromos for that price.
In lithuania 72 set of polycolor is 50 euros the 48 set 30 euros 36 set 20 eurps 24 set 13 eur and 12 set 5 euros !
oh those are good prices (i think)! Im so glad i covered them. they are very good pencils.
You can buy 72 set for 37 dolars (800kč) in tin or 23 dolars (500 kč) in paper box here in Czech Republic. :)
are these the same as Dick Blick Studio?
+Jean Thompson I believe it is the blick artist pencils.
For someone that has so many products out, you would think they would know better than to put the color name on the end of the pencil you sharpen.
Its a shame i cant put memes on here but PREACH SISTA!! There is a solution to this problem watch tomorrow's video!
How do people rate these for highly realistic, detailed work?
Kathryn Wright in that case I would stick with the Faber Castell polychromos and or Caran d’Ache luminance both of which I have reviewed on this channel.
Thank you :)
I was just interested in these because I like that they come in the packs of just greys! I so wish you could get Polychromos like that!
You can totally get these and try the just greys but I don’t know if the photorealistic results would be quite the same. But I will say that that’s one of the best things about these is that they do come in those special packs.
The Koh I Noor blender is inferior to the Prismacolor blender because it crumbles under pressure. Not good.
Also, at koh-i-noor.cz there are colour charts if you are interested:)
Are prismacolor better
in Poland Prismacolor are 3-4 times more expencive that this
I bout the 24 Fabre Castell , bought 24 of these cuz the other didn’t have any pink or purple. Can’t wait to get them!
Love your channel.🌺
Thank you! Let me know how you like them when you get them.
I sure will! Have a fantastic weekend.🌺
are these oil based

+terilew1 oh cool! I checked the website a few times and could not find what colors were included, I missed the specs page! Thanks again.
No problem :-) I have the 12 pc set and I've been trying to find a way to add the 72 pc set to my collection, lol. They do have a nice color.
+terilew1 they really do!
have you compared the Koh-I-Noor Polycolor with the Marco Renior? I haven't tried the Marco Renior yet and was wondering which set would be the best to get...if I don't end up with both that is...
+terilew1 I haven't tried the Marco Renoir. But they are on my list.
Thank you for great review. I have been trying to decide on an oil based pencil and this is it! And thanks to commenter who gave DickBlick site and colors.
+Linda Rowley I did do a review of the blick colored pencils.
