  • The final three sections of this 631' pedestrian bridge were hauled together and OXBO was hired to ensure the project was completed flawlessly.
The largest of the three was transported using two 6-axle sections of Goldhofer THP/SL trailers with Goldhofer turntables. Even with a gross weight of 440,000lbs, the 8 tires on each trailer axle were loaded to only 3,750lbs per tire. This section was 180’ long, nearly 17’ wide and 20’3” tall when loaded, the length including OXBO’s 4-axle prime mover was 225’.
The other two sections were hauled using single and double drop semi-trailers. The trailers were stretched to allow the load to sit lower to the ground, keeping heights as low as 16’6”.
OXBO’s team of drivers, trailer operators and pilot vehicles, along with assistance from law enforcement and Kenco Bucket Trucks, moved from daylight to 3pm and delivered the final 3 sections without incident.
The 5 sections of the bridge had a combined over the road weight of 1.3 million pounds, using 4 different trailer configurations, 338 tires, 5 drivers, 6 trailer operators, 8 pilot car operators, 10 law enforcement officers, 8 bucket trucks and 3 boom trucks.
An elite crew, precision planning and professional vendors is OXBO’s recipe for success.
