I used to do travel like that and randomly camp out all along the eastern US when I was a young man, I am old now and am living my life thru your adventures, Thank You for sharing.
So I have an FJ cruiser. Same thing as your 4runner. Don't be afraid to air down to 9 lbs in sand and 15 in rocks. Also your A-TRAC is really helpful. Crawl control will even get you out of a sand trap. Your rig will do way more then you're comfortable with. You probably know all this. But bringing another rig is the best idea. I love that tub.
Pride works better than ego...pride in who you are and what you can do. That'll make you more cautious...so you don't risk getting yourself all busted up...or worse. When you're all busted up or dead, it's hard to accomplish much of anything. Glad you got to go back and soak a while, Lovely. And thanks a heap for taking us along.
I always feel better after watching you. Your humor, your wit, your fantastic memory, your costumes and creative mind, etc. You bring a lot to the surface for your fans Thank you.
I have been watching hippies murder their God given ego's (self) for 50 years. Perfect way to make them into finger pointers instead of "do your own thing"ers.

Way cool! That song is an anthem in my family, my mom raised us not to be ashamed of our bodies. My kids get such a kick out of her, she’s 73 and she’ll just drop trou and wade into a creek. I love my mom so much!
I found this somewhat older video of yours and the first reaction is, 😘 you had trail knowledge but was hesitant to use it. Something I used to do was use the least traction aid heading in I needed so I could extricate on the rough spots if needed. That way I had abilities in reserve to finish making it out. You’re doing fine though and I’m hoping to see you somewhere down the road soon. Stay safe and have fun Sarah.❤️🙏🫶🏻😎
Oh wow that’s my favorite ‘Hot Spring’. It is a technical trail for most people. But really most 4wheel drives can do it!. That whole river valley is great camping. Stay away from the hot spring when camping, hoards of mosquitoes come out at dusk!!
Sarah, you are just an amazing person. Not only do you take the viewer on some great adventures; but, I really like it when your personality comes out. Look forward to many more.
The lesson in this is to plan for extra time "in case" just like you did, but then relax as best you can. Second lesson is if you cannot relax and are that worried, you probably bit off more than you should have. Third lesson is you need to work on your skills so definitely go back but with multiple vehicles and drivers WHO HAVE EXPERIENCE so they can give you tips and lessons while you learn more. What a beautiful place!!! Wish I was there especially with you as a guide. Oh well, dream a little dream. Be safe out there.
"I have to learn to be less of a worrier and more of a warrior". There's a fine line between brave and stupid. Trust your instincts, they have served you well.
That was cool. Is the biggest herd of bighorns I've seen in Nevada. Every time I drive across the 'Major Sheep Crossing' by Walker Lake, I keep looking though. I'm wondering if that crossing isn't so major now that the lake's turned brackish
Two thirty up here in Beaverton, OR. Thank you Sarah! It kinda looks like my parents next-door neighbor made that pond. He was from Sweden and was a wizard when it came to mixing concrete. He fabricated our house and then made another one for him and his wife. When my parents hired a contractor to close in our carport, all we heard was him trying to beat the daylights out of the pillars that originally held up the roof. It was said that "Martin" went up there before we purchased the house and kept his body completely tanned. These master masons!! You never know what they'll do next. Well, the two thousand have finally left downtown Portland. Drive safely!!
I used to take my 84' Honda Accord off-roading without a care! I drove up an almost 60 degree incline to get on top of a canyon rim once, it felt like we were on a rocket launchpad!
You made the right call. Unless you're a thrill-seeker (looking for danger), when you're out in the wilderness - especially if your traveling alone - you NEVER want to push the limits and ALWAYS want to err on the side of caution. Smart move.
God darn, all I can say is WOW! You are just an unlimited fountain of knowledge! Unbelievable, astounding!!! And you've got nerves of STEEL! You couldn't get me to drive that road in a tank! I nearly fell out of my seat howling when you panned over to that abandoned trailer, hahaaaaah! Your cinematic way of revealing story surprises is just great! Hitchcock would be proud!
I love your video adventures. hope someday to have a nice soak with you in some remote hot spring would love to hear your stories in real time. I love your laugh.
You might already know this but, when you're in SOFT stuff whether it's sand, dirt, mud or even deep snow AIR DOWN. If you're sinking and or spinning a lot take your tires down to about 30 or even 25 PSI to start. Airing down will increase the surface contact patch of your tires and let them sort of "float" on top of the soft stuff. You should even do this for rock crawling should you ever need that. You should carry a high capacity compressor with you or you can drive fairly slowly to a place with an air pump. Take some of your down time and check out some 4WD vids of jeepers and even 4Runner people doing just this. If you have any questions just put them in a reply. Keep up the great vids!!
Everyone who is familiar with the desert's rocky/sandy terrain carries a few rugs, emergency traction strips, and a compressor to air the tires back up. It sucks to be stuck in the desert far from anyone - been there done that.
You are out in the middle of the wilderness absolutely freakin 100% alone and no cell signal but there (here?) we all are, right there with you. Weird.
I rode my motorcycle in there a few years back . The pool was falling apart then . Good to see how it was put back together . I will have to go back .No shame in walking it first . I had a problem getting out of there at a switchback .
I saw Capn Stubing in Nevada City a few years back during a film festival...dude must be enamored with the Sierra. Btw...you are correct, Desert Bighorn. ...aaaand too....you had us at " walkin' along naked thru nature"... peace
I shit you not, not 3 hours ago I listened to Nat's version of Nature Boy. "A little shy..........and sad of eye, but very wise, was he." AWESOME SONG!
First time seeing your channel. This reminds me of a series of (I think) 3 "hot tubs" at the end of 40 miles of rough road in CA near Death Valley. In the mountains on the opposite side of the valley there were hidden waterfalls that could not be seen unless you hiked up the canyons. It has probably been over 20 years since I have been out there.
She wasn't naked.... she still had her hat, and the string around her ankle! Now changing our store sign from shoes and shirt to " No hat, No String, No Service" 😂😁👍

Thanks for a great conversation today. Always enjoy hearing what you have to say on your adventures. Just a thought; get a small but good air compressor for your rig. Let some air out for a softer and safer ride and less likely to get stuck in sand.
That's our local tub :) Was nice to see you enjoying it !! Your correct about the road . We were out last winter and the road was washed out at the same spot where that trailer is . Got stuck and had to walk to top of mtns for cell service . Sucked !! Haha
When you make your to do list: 1. Chloride AZ - Go up thru mtn's, pass mine, go down rocky river bed, stop at painted rocks. 2. Drive to the top of paved Mt Evan's 14,270 ft. 3. Drive to the top of American Flag Mtn, next to Italian Mtn in central CO. Colorado
Hey, I know that's the first stage of horse poop, but if you ever get into soft sand, dirt, mud or snow drop your tire pressure down to around 20 psi and it will save you. But unless you have an air compressor don't go over 20 mph until you pump the tires back up. Just remember not to gun it up, take it slow and easy.

Hi Sarah Thats the most beautiful and inviting hot spring, love to be there.Hope it stays beautiful! Stay safe.
Excellent episode Sarah. Your acapellas are excellent, keep that up. It's the icing on the cake.

Recovery tracks.
Learned something new.
Last weekend I slept in my car stuck in mud until morning.
I had no idea other people would enjoy something like that so much. I should look around for a project to do. Wonderful. Thanks.

The hot spring is only 50 yards from the river ...you can kill 2 birds with one stone .
