Here it comes, television's most exciting hour of fantastic prizes the fabulous sixty-minute Price is Right!
We are showcasing episodes not viewed in decades. Starting from Season 11 (1982), this is the first season when animal furs were no longer offered as prizes, supporting Bob’s advocacy of animal rights in memory of his wife Dorothy Jo.
To celebrate what would have been Bob Barker's 100th birthday, the channel is also featuring episodes from the debut season of The "New" Price Is Right in 1972.

I've seen this happen, and it was during a short streak where the ARP was $1 below the lowest bid quite a few times, and they were trying to win the bonus. Mind you, you really only want to even consider this if you're bidding x99 (or x49), and you should only do this on the first or second IUFB so you have enough chances left, and even then you shouldn't do this unless you're absolutely confident you'll win the bonus (which you aren't because you overbid the first time).
That being said; this is not the worst bid. The worst bid is bidding above what you're supposed to go lower than.
And not to bid so far above it you become a part of history. Like the surfboard lady
Definitely not the worst.
But expecting an item to be much more valuable than it actually is, kinda throws a wrench into things (even I thought the artwork had more value than that).
@@AmyraCarter The beauty of the artwork for the producers, just like trips, is that it's always a tossup. Depends on the artist, the means, and the complexity. Sometimes it's around 300 bucks, sometimes it goes all the way up to a grand.
This isn’t necessarily the worst bid. There have been people who bid the following:
Ila bid $9,000 on two surfboards
Carolyn bid $6,500 on a motor scooter in 2003
Johanna bid $9,999 on a popcorn machine in 2006
Samuel bid $8,000 on a trip to San Francisco in 2003
Robin bid $11,000 on a motorcycle for an IUFB in the 31st season premiere in 2002. Two others btw completely overbid as well with an $8000 and $7000 bid (Bob I’m surprised didn’t even bring this up probably because either due to time constraint or he was just not in the mood for discussion)
lol I almost forgot about the motorcycle
That's nothing compared to one bid back in 2002, one guy gave out a bid of $9999, and Bob said it best that it was the weirdest bid he ever had
First item up for bids on episode 2064K (Valentine’s Day 2002), the episode is on YT
Nice, I need to go watch that one later.
Joseph from that one Carey episode, easily. Or are we not counting the 69 and 420 troll type maneuvers?
Congratulations Dorothy! You defied the odds and won a car! 🚗👍👍👍👍👍👍
I thought she wouldn't, at first, when she couldn't place that 8 at first.
Bob is such a hoot. Genuinly happy for the contestants. Today its totally sanitized and devoid of any emotion. Drew is going thru the motions. Sad.
I absolutely agree with this take. Every episode today just feels the same and it isn't as fun.
One thing I’ve noticed about today’s episodes with Drew Carey is that he acts kind of flippant with the products that are being displayed during pricing games. It’s like he’s joking around about them and making fun of them in an indirect way. It’s very flippant, which is the only word I can think of to describe how he acts. It’s almost like he’s trying to make a joke if a product, say, was something like Lipton’s Cup of Soup. He often makes a snide remark or talks about it in a sarcastic way or picks up the product and throws it around.. I don’t know - it’s weird.
@@AbandonedMines11Robert doesn't know what " flippant " means & you were spared a meandering reply by him ! 👍
Intense, a two strike win. Don't see that very often.
It's just a bad as the people that bid $1, but they aren't the last bidder.
1:23 Four buzzers
Which equals four overbids. Erase the bids!
I've seen worse bids than this... especially when contestants bid $1 under than the previous bid, or make a ridiculous bid of $9,000 or an amount that at the time couldn't fit the one bid display. Or even in showcases where a stupid bid could force the other contestant to bid $1.
Not that i blame you for wanting to forget, but Joseph and $9 Million? Anyone?
I do now. It was a kitchen island and he bid 2 million. lol
No, the worst is the $9000 on the pair of surfboards (not insulting her, it became a legendary moment on a long-running show and that's something to be proud of regardless).
What's funny is before contestants bid on a motorcycle, during the 25th anniversary special, they showed that exact clip. Afterwards, a woman bid $12,000 for that motorcycle! lol
@@silentbob3208And bid too much. 😆😆😆😆😆😆
Nope...it's Joseph.
Please bring TPIR The Bob Barker Era back to Samsung TV Plus!!!!
So glad Dorothy won it’s always heart pounding when there’s only one number and one strike left in that bag
She made it dramatic, especially when she had trouble placing the 8 at first.
Robert is being overly 🙄 dramatic !
David truly has no life, doesn't he....
@@davidellis5141 Yep 👍🏻, he sure 👍🏻 is!
While I have seen worse (anyone remember the $9,000 surfboard?), I must say I had never seen someone bid $1 under the lowest overbid like that until then...
There have been times lowest over bid $1000, actually retail price, $999
what a fun player! she deserved that car.
Imagine a new car below $10,000!
It would be a golf cart probably.. New cars are averaging around 30 today.
@@silentbob3208 ..sometimes it costs more than $70,000 (like Golden Road ones).
I once saw a woman bid $1 lower than the one before her all three times she bid The show was still 30 minutes then.
That sounds like the worst bidding strategy ever.
@@silentbob3208 It was
What about the guy that said a cheap watch on mountain climbers game was 275 dollars and lost.
I would not say that $324 was the worst bid ever, but maybe it was unusual that she would go one dollar lower than $325. Maybe she thought that it would be the exact price and win $100.
That's the only way to win in that spot, too. You have to be right.
She wanted the cash 💵 from Bob Barker Silvia & Robert F should not be harassing you ! 😕
David really specializes in whining over people doing things that he himself has been doing lately. But, that's what happens when you're at re-darted as Davis is...

Silvia, about three weeks from Friday, which is April 12, it's former Barker's Beauty 💅🏼 Claudia Jordan 🇯🇴's (née Claudia Angela 😇 Jordan 🇯🇴, _Deal or No 👎🏻 Deal?_)_ 51st birthday 🎉.
Not even close. A Navy sailor named José once bid *$60,000* on a Showcase. The legends say he’s still the only person alive who knows why he did it.
Oh, wait...I can do worse...a woman named Virginia once bid *$90,000* on a Showcase that was barely $30,000. To make it even more stupid, her opponent, who had bid a more reasonable $28,000, was also over, by around $5,000, causing a completely avoidable and unnecessary double overbid.
Someone once bid 2 million on a kitchen island. I'm convinced the young guy just didn't want it. lol
You can't even get a used car for $8,000 anymore, much less a new one.
