Alex, in your short time in the UFC, you have easily become my favorite fighter. As a Canadian Indigenous, the cultural similarities (ceremonial headdress, face paint, your signature walkout march and music) speak to me and are exactly what I needed/wanted to see in the UFC. I sometimes like to pretend you're a fellow Indigenous kid from the reservation haha anyways, you're a huge motivation for me brother. Chama!

People Like you not only because of your fighting abilities, but because they see a serious guy, not some clown, the guy who never disrespects his opponents or anyone at all and in general very respectful person and seems like a good person, strong and decent individual, people admire that. I think all your fans also pick on your good traits and respect you for that and not just like you because you can knock people out. Its the way you behave, you are a modest person who is also a lion. I guess people just see good in you and they are not wrong for that.

Fora gastar energias mude suas comunidades de convivência, onde frequenta, o ambiente, pessoas ajudam a mudar o hábito, também pode fazer, exercer a caridade, igreja onde tem serviço comunitário, que distribui e ajudar pessoas te transforma, é algo que você entrega por vontade sem esperar algo em troca e na verdade preenche o vazio Inteiro, eu sou da igreja católica tem muito isso, ajuda doentes, viciados, pessoas carentes...da mesma forma que a história dele te tocou, você ficaria impressionado com quantas pessoas precisam de ajuda e quantos eles ajudam em silêncio...
Mas o legal do Alex é isso mesmo. Ele tá sempre sério. É diferente de certos campeões que falam demais ou ficam se gabando. Trouxe um novo ar. Parabéns campeão. Chama!

Poh mano a parte da borracharia me emociona. Trabalhei dos 12 aos 19 em borracharia com o meu pai, bebida era normal no ambiente, tbm entrei nessa de tomar uma cervejinha e derrepente ja tava todo dia tomando uma dosezinha de conhaque no boteco( isso ja com 16 anos). Hj tenho 31 anos, fiz cursos mudei de profissao e tals. Treino jiu jitsu 3x por semana e bebida alcoólica bebo raramente um vinho.
Lembro de vc e do Saulo cavalari q representavam no wgp e glory, e jamais imaginaria q vc passou por tudo isso e q seria esse astro do MMA q é hj. Parabens pela coragem mano.
Parabens Alex sua história servirá de exemplo pra todos nós. Deus continue te abençoando sempre.

Alex, thank you so much for sharing your story man. I just started following UFC again and I’m glad I came across your channel.
I struggled badly with addiction for a long time. I know everyone’s battle is different, but man addiction is actual hell. I just hit my 8th year of sobriety and I’ve been thinking about trying out MMA. It’s something I’ve always wanted to try especially since so many of my sober friends speak about how much it’s helped them get to an even better place mentally, physically, and spiritually.
I’m proud of you man, you’re an inspiration.

You’re correct. There was a story of a companion named Abu Mihjan RA who used to drink before Islam and during Islam. The great companion named Umar exiled him to Yemen because of how much he used to drink. Eventually he was allowed to return so he made his way to Iraq to participate in battles, even though he was still addicted to drinking. He drank again and a man named Saad who led the Muslims at the time put him in a cell. He was so eager to participate and showcased his strength in battle but Saad refused and returned him to the cell. Eventually, he convinced Saad’s wife to let him go and he was released. He fought bravely and dealt with the Persians with ease. Saad was so impressed when he found out it was him and said after the battle, “by God I shall never whip you again for drinking.” Abu Mihjan said “and I will never drink again.” This is why we should never judge people for their addictions. And give them a chance.
