I think both are perfect for the context in which they were performed. The album version is nice and chill and good for its placement on the album. However, no one would want to hear it like that at a live show where everybody is hype and trying to rock out. I like bands that have an awareness for context and switch up their songs accordingly. Veruca Salt was always good at that. Their first album was near perfect, Imo but most songs were very slow paced. However their live performances were all high energy, the only exception being if they were doing a promo spot on TV where they would then try to be true to album.

I just looove this version... the "Go!" is the best one Ive ever heard xp and as ive already said in another vid's comment of this song live, the chorus sung this way is just addictive, so great
lets not forget here : Butch Vig is one of the greatest alternative records engineer of his time : Nirvana , Smashing Pumpkins 2 first albums , the Melvins and more .... He is not the guitarist / mixing sounds and putting all together . What a great singer they had . I saw them back in the day in a small hall in the center of Brussels in 95 when they started ( where they found terrorists lately unfortunately ) .

Hahahaha. I can never tell if she's actually any good at it. I've felt like just from looking at the way she strums and positions her fretting hand, she's not necessarily the best. It reminds me of me starting out. It just doesn't look comfortable or economical. And it's also really difficult to tell what she's playing. There's always another guitarist playing along with her and when she stops I can't tell what she stopped playing. I love her, but it's like watching Avril or Courtney Love play. It seems like she plays more for the aesthetic than an actual need for her to play the songs.

True, I love Shirley but with the exception of So Like a Rose, her guitar playing is cringe-worthy over-animated and emphasized most times.
