- Legacy and Gabby share some precious moments together this morning beginning with watching the sunrise together on the LOP! What a beautiful sight to see them perched together as they face the new day. We have some beautiful closeups of Legacy's face and some extraordinary zooming on her talons today! Gabrielle looks stunning as the sunlight highlights her face and beak! No wonder Samson fell in love with her!
Legacy then hops back and forth from the nest and back up the branches of the nest tree. Later this morning at 09:54 AM EST Legacy takes off and soars over the nest tree and circles around for another pass (approach cam and cam 1) as Gabby sees her offspring taking to the skies! She must feel so proud of Legacy! Legacy did not return to the nest but may have done a flyby later in the afternoon. Samson brought a fish later today and ate it on the nest as no one was home (in a subsequent video). Stay safe Legacy and we hope to see you come back tomorrow! Thank you for watching!

GE Lady Hawk! I absolutely love this video. We got some of the best footage to date here of Legacy and Gabby. Just incredible sunrise morning shots and then those lovely close-ups of both. Your description was spot on. It's actually also very emotional since Legacy has gone missing. This video shows one of the last moments Mom Gabby and Legacy shared together in their nest tree. I'm worried about Legacy out there alone with the parents at home. We know that most times the Eaglets return and stay for a long time after just learning to fly, weeks usually so it's very strange to see this disappearance from Legacy and my heart goes out to all the fans who are worried for Legacy too. Prayers she returns and this is not the last video we have of her. Thanks LH, SEDs🌙💜🌚

yes, Legacy did a beautiful job fledging! to be honest i am very concerned she has not been seen since 2 days ago. i've watched enough nests to know they come back to feed and rest after fledge- usually for quite a while! i am hoping for her return but notice Mom just sits and doesn't appear to know Legacy's whereabouts....yes, i am worried.
After two days absence from the nest, Little Legacy is back. I am so glad. 2021.05.01, 11.43 am. Now she seems hungry.

Oh poor Legacy is over run with lice. And thank goodness Legacy's right eye looks much better.
I noticed that, too, and how she was vigorously shaking her head in an attempt to dislodge them.
Pesky parasites
Is that normal for eagles/birds to have lice? Do they have them forever? Or do they eventually get rid of them? I always thought they ate them?
@@buffalokay Yes all birds have what is called bird lice. I read somewhere that if a bird is overrun with lice they can die from them but that is rare.
@@buffalokay Hello Kay it is normal for all eaglets to have some lice. It usually is not problematic as their immune system prevents them from getting sick.
I hope she is well. It just seems too soon to be gone.

That is so very beautiful! Where are they? The nest has been empty since yesterday April 28. Legacy left in the morning and hasn’t been back. I just started following when mom laid the eggs. Did Legacy leave all ready? So worried......
In the video when we saw Legacy flying and leaving the nest tree she has not been back since. It does not mean she won't be back but she is out exploring the area and Gabby and Samson will keep an eye on her and feed her where she is located.

Legacy shakes get head now and then. I’ve seen other eaglets do the same thing. Is it parasites bothering them?
The mosquitoes and gnats are bothersome and they shake their heads to rid themselves of them.

Hi Nonnie nothing is wrong with Legacy's left foot that is perfectly normal! That is what their feet look like - we were just given some amazing closeups of them!!
