VFR Flight Following is on a “workload permitting basis” for the controllers. As VFR pilots, how can we use the service, and what happens when ATC “drops us”?

I was so impressed at how well you had the aircraft trimmed. You were hands off, sitting back relaxed, giving you the ability to complete several other tasks. Then I heard you mention an Autopilot! No fair. Perhaps one of the future videos will be on obtaining the perfect trim configuration (power/pitch/etc.) for those of us that do not have an autopilot, just an "Onlypilot!"

All part of flight training: trimming for hands-off straight and level flight reduces your workload.

Flew a 172 VFR landing in the New York Bravo trifecta back to back to back several months ago - EWR, JFK, LGA. No fees. Probably could have never happened as it did outside of COVID madness. EWR let me circle the pattern and land a second time, Airliner held short for me at JFK, LGA tower asked me which runway I wanted...definitely some bucket list flying that day.

I picked up flight following on the ground yesterday for the first time. Made it so much easier to get into the class C airspace. They already knew who I was and where I was going. Although it did take three attempts to get the controllers attention to enter the airspace!

Flew into KLAS Mc Carran International Airport (Las Vegas) a few times with VFR Flight Following. They sequence you in (vector you around) and really bomb you in on the approach. Not only that, you'd have to deal with turbulent desert air on the way in (if you fly in during the afternoon). So you'd really have to be on top of your game with the radio and flight controls. But if I can do it, you can do it too. Awesome experience and very fun! You are rewarded with a great view of the strip and of course.... Vegas Baby!

15/15! I passed my checkride last March but haven't had the nerve to fly into KSFO, which is the nearest class B airport to me. Plenty of class C. My DPE told me (in not entirely approving tones) of another new pilot who went to KSFO a day or two after his checkride. He did it in the wee hours of the morning when traffic was minimal.

I was always taught to identify the position calling on initial contact such as “Orlando Tower, November two three mile Zulu” even when going from approach to the tower of the same facility. I noticed you just said “tower, two three Mike Zulu “ without the “Orlando”. I know the tower can see you and automation has transferred the information between the approach and tower, but what is the correct way to check in?

Question: Hi. (MZeroA PP Ground School student here) with a question about the ORL Approach instructing you to fly over the VOR.
    - Did you simply tune to the VOR frequency and fly direct to the 'center' of the VOR or did you know there was a radial you should fly to?
    thx.
