Hi Mark , I have been using this type of TPMS for years and they work very well and the batteries last about 2-3 years ( Panasonic CR1632 ) Penny type battery. I only paid £20 for mine about 5 years ago and they are still working fine. About £25 now if you buy direct from China instead of off a middle man .
I have a system i got from ebay for about 25 quid, not bluetooth but has its own screen you fit to the bars, surprised me how tyre pressures increase when hot, worth having .
Bought the yellow variant of this on eBay from China and simply did not. To be fair, they are sending me a replacement set. Perhaps I've just been unlucky. Although my yellow ones look slightly different, I suspect they are all made in the same factory. PS your work is brilliant. Keep 'em coming.
@ 3:50 😂😂 ..... I think checking my tyre pressures from my bedroom comes 100th of 100 things on my list of to do's in my bedroom, just below painting the ceiling.
Hi , I read an article "somewhere" that these (or similar) do not give a live reading. they measure the first reading and continue to display the same reading all the time. Unfortunately after i bought and used for many months so return period was up ! Hindsight being a wonderful thing, I can confirm the set I purchased read the same pressure regardless hot day, freeezing day starting off or after a long drive. Did you see your readings fluctuate during a drive, (tyre pressures will increase with heat) ?
Hi Paul with mine I found that if you have the app open in the background on your phone it does do live pressure readings....if the app is closed you open it up but sometimes you have to refresh it to get a current reading...still using it on my triumph Best wishes mark
Hi,do you have to remember to open the app every time you use the bike for it to give you alerts or does it constantly run in the background/vibration wake up etc?
Is that iPhone or android? I called steelmate and they said there can be issues with some Android systems closing apps that seem inactive. As my phone will be in my pocket I'll be wanting something else with a screen on the bike methinks. Thanks for getting back to me though. Much appreciated
How long do the batteries last and do you just screw them off to fill up with air when needed too? (Probably obvious, but not to me lol) oh I've had to edit as I was wondering if they fit onto L shaped valves as with my 2023 350 forza! Thanks for sharing and see you on your next adventure/review 🤙🤟👍
Anecdotally i was always told to expect a 20% gain on the rear and 10% on the front when hot to gauge if you were at the the optimum cold pressure. What did you get?
Hi ...there is a locknut that you are supposed to use ...but I didn't and it's been fine so no I don't bother with the spanner 🛠️ for top ups Cheers mark
@@calibra1759 no you could still easily unscrew them ...I'd say it's more of a safety feature so they don't undo on their own but mine haven't budged in a 1000 miles Cheers mark

Mark, any unbalance with the weigth of these on the wheels ?
Hi jay ...no..... I did think about that too but at 70 mph I felt no vibration

Pressure is supposed to go up 20% when tires get warm.
@@aluisious My rear goes from 30 to 36 on the highway, front goes 29 to 32, the rear does all the work so bound to get hotter.

Great product Mark, I'm not good at monitoring my tyre pressure, not good practice I know.. great review Mark xx
Thanks Martine yes it's a great little product...I've used it today ... easy to check my pressures now :) x
Wouldn't one need to rebalance the wheels for better performance?
I had exactly that thought but no issues at all no vibration at 70 mph ....but I suppose it would benefit to get them checked
Cheers mark

You can set it to do either ...from your phone settings

Hi rich. Yes just remove to top up tyres .... batteries are replaceable and last approx 1 year ...and yes will fit L valves cheers mark
@@markpulling12 cheers Mark 🍻.
Have a merry Christmas and a happy new year fella 😊
Very interesting. Thank you very much for the video
Mark, would the tryes need balancing after fitment
I thought exactly that ....but at 70 mph no vibration whatsoever so no need to best wishes mark

Hi yes I've known about tyre pressure increase with temperature..... ...I always get about 3/4 psi increase after a moderate ride
Best wishes mark
@@markpulling12 which some would suggest your rear cold pressure is too high. And front bang on.
Do you need to use the spanner to top up, if so you would need to carry it with you. Cheers Mark sorry for my ignorance.

Mark do you have the street triple rs 765 2023 model if so what are your favourite tyre pressure settings , I am a new owner of this bike.
Hi I had a street triple 765 for a while I've got a 1050 now ..tyre pressure for me 33 psi front 39 psi rear
Cheers mark
Thanks did you alter suspension settings at all sorry to be a bother need comfort now
Hi Mark. Great videos as always..
How are they holding up? Any probs?
Cheers
Lee
Hi lee ...all good 👍 I've put them on my speed triple and still giving me the pressure fine to the app
Cheers mark
@@markpulling12 excellent thanks for the prompt reply.. roll on springtime 🙏🤞
What's the deal with the batteries? Do they have to be recharged? Are they replaceable? How long do thy last?
Hi the batteries are replaceable and last about a year...the back of the sensor simply unscrews with that little spanner 🔧
Cheers mark
Great review, I would have been interested to see how to top up pressure if needed.
@@petervoros840they easy remove or you can add a t valve, in reality though it's better to pause the app and add air when needed
@@markpulling12 Thanks for the reply and info
Are they waterproof
Hi yes they are:)
