Love that guy Adrian! Used to work with him at jimmy johns. To think he started off on a Schwinn chopper bicycle, and now on the other side of the world riding Cinelli six years later. Officially a legend in my book.
The most exciting content on yt. Thank you, Lucas! I always watch your videos till the end if I started, even if I'm in a rush, because they're so immersive, thank you for what you do.
It's humbling to experience genuine people who offer hospitality when they have so little. I went through Gambia many years ago and was welcomed by so many people. That will stay with me forever. I enjoy your videos, but this must of been special for you to share it. Nice. 🚴🚴🚴
Wow. So cool, some awesome memories for you guys to look back on. Just shows that the majority of us as humans in any country are just level headed, decent individuals. Hopefully in a few generations places like this are no longer war torn.
This is insane that you got into Syria. Beautiful side of Syrian views. Lucas your a legend man. Def tell my kids about this man Lucas right..........etc.
Just remember for everyone who.comes thru these areas with a story like this there are several who the experience was opposite. You need a great deal of situational awareness in places like this. I spent much time in these areas and all can seem great then something bad happens. The good thing is you kept moving.
Thank you for this video actually I'm Syrian who lives in Damascus and I didn't know how it's like to live in this part of Syria "Roujava" between Kurds By the way my brother is biker definitely I'll send him this vid
You inspired me to start riding again after years of smoking ciggs and getting out of shape fam. Ill stop smoking for the love of riding . Love your channel. Keep it up
Everybody goes everywhere on RUclips but few take their bike thanks for bringing da wheels and sharing. My fav videos of yours to date me angle so dope
Very impressive! I cycled around Syria in 2009. Needless to say it looked very different then. Very sad to see the current state of it, but hopefully time will heal it. I definitely think it helps when people go there and do "normal stuff" (like riding bikes). Riding a bike always helps.
Brunelle since u liked my comment about this being on netflix i have to say.. Your commenting voice is not very good, sounds crispy, could be much better with a good microphone device.. beside that this video is superb! Thanks for that and give Adrian a helmet as soon as possible please. You are amazing 👏
omfg, I was just thinking of this, I went on to youtube to see if it was you who was tailgating a truck in Syria If my memory serves me correctly. without typing in your channel name, the first thing that pop's up onto the RUclips page is THIS! what in the actual F*ck of destiny coincidental magic is the cosmos throwing at me! The reason I was thinking of this today is that I'm Half Syrian, Half English, and never been to Syria and was wondering about cycling through it someday.

Amazing as always, Lucas. My best friend for over 25yrs is from Syria. His family lost so much during the war but they are eternally happy and generous people. Glad to see you showing that side! Oh, how many times did Adrian crash?!?!
Just wow Lucas. I couldn't get enough of this video, wish you make more of these travelling videos, if you ever decide to visit Eastern Europe, hit me up, would love to ride together!
@@lucasbrunelle I live in Bulgaria, lots of nice places to see here, neighbouring Serbia, North Macedonia and Kosovo are also quite nice to visit and within short distance, great for a tour. The balkans are well known for the hospitality of local people, especially in the more remote areas, lots of ghost villages and abandoned Soviet era stuff.
I have a mountain bike 10 speed and there's nothing better traveling on the open road it's like you're free from everything I just start to watch I seen your everglaze video and that's what made me want to watch more
It's hard to reconcile this video with all the violence, death, suffering, and unspeakable horror that goes on in that part of the world. Perhaps the bicycle is the universal symbol of peace and goodwill. Thanks for being a good ambassador for America. Americans are not all blood thirsty war mongers. Most Americans want to live in peace in harmony with the rest of the world.
@@lucasbrunelle I'm gonna get my kids to watch this, you riding thru those bombed out cities is just eye opening on many levels. And rolling with that flag is one of the bravest things I've seen in some time. May the bike gods ride with you my friend.
@@lucasbrunelle We just watched it, and of course I explained a little of the situation, as they are old enough to grasp these things with their young minds. All those kids they saw really made them feel fortunate to have the life they have. My boy, the oldest, could only say "damn" at end. And this kid is never at a loss for words. Thanks for the eye opening experience for them, and for myself as well. Bravo my man. 👏🏻
This is exactly the kind of stuff that inspired me to travel with a bicycle. The world is better explored by bicycle

What kind of tire / gear do you use ? How do you not get flats all the time on this kind of roads ?

Lots of intel (and people praying for us)
So the Iraqi cycling team gave Adrian a dura ace 7800 crankset?
Loaned it to him and then outright refused any type of money, food, or ANYthing else from us, just asked us to ride with their riders
